Can I Use This Paragraph In My English Essay Is It Appropriate For My Age 16

What is a good Thesis Statement for an essay about changing the legal voting age to 16?

The best thesis statement you can make is one that is simple and straightforward. "The voting age should be lowered to sixteen years of age" would actually be a good statement. However, you need to build up to that point within your introduction paragraph, putting the statement towards the end of the introduction (although I have had teachers demand that the statement be placed at the very beginning, but in higher grades, it has changed).

How do I write an essay on describing myself?

If you are relying entirely on inspiration to write essays, you are shooting yourself in the foot. Inspiration is a whim. It is either there or not, depending on mood, what you ate, how you feel, and what you have to do today. You may not want to do what needs to be done and inspiration leaves you.Rely on perspiration. Learn to write. Just write. Pick a subject, any subject. There isn’t a perfect subject. I have yet to get this across to my perfectionist step-son, but I’ll try again here. There is no one perfect subject. If you are searching for the perfect idea, again, you are shooting yourself in the foot.Write. Learn to write as required of your deadlines. Do the writing early so you have time to edit and redraft, or rewrite. I never did less than three drafts unless it was on an exam. If you are relying on inspiration for exams? well… bullet… foot… you. Don’t do that.If you rely on music, friends, a bird singing outside your window? bullet… foot… you. Don’t do that. You won’t have those on exams.Sit yourself down and write. If you have two or more subjects to write about, pick one randomly or eenie meenie it. It doesn’t matter as long as you pick one. Then write. Learning to write as needed means working on writing as needed. Practice it. Just do it. Stop waiting for it.

Help with a concluding paragraph to the crucible?

I guess i really didnt put enough information into this. these were my first two paragraphs:

What is a reputation? A reputation is someone’s good name or bad name in some cases. In the late 16th century during the time when the mad Salem Witch Trials were occurring reputation was one of things that your life depended on. Back in that time everyone had a reputation to protect so many people let this tremendous outbreak of accusations happen. Your good name was the only way you could get people to associate with you or even get a fair say in things. This is why some of the unfortunate people in Salem were accused of being a witch.
Reputation was extremely important in a town where social standing was tied to one’s ability to follow religious rules. If you had a good reputation, you were more likely to be an upright member of the church and a good Christian. In Puritan times being religious and following the rules of God meant everything. And if you were one of the unlucky condemned of

The following paragraph has omitted all apostrophes. Your job is to put them back in. Some will be apostrophes showing contractions, and some will be apostrophes showing possession. Refer back to the notes in the course if you need to.

My Favorite Possessions

Have you ever wondered what youd take out of your house in a burning fire? I have. Ive often thought about what Id save if I could only choose a few items. I think first Id take the childrens pictures my parents have saved since our childhoods. Next, Id grab my old cigar box. Its filled with all my friends gifts and keepsakes, which are real treasures for me. My parents letters would come with me too, and my dogs comfort items. I couldn't forget my CD collection and my sisters things. Shes at college, so shed be furious if I didnt remember to take her precious items. Wed need food and water, so wed have the ability to survive, and blankets, first aid kit, and flashlights would be helpful too. Wed put the dog in the car, of course, and the cat, and the four of us. We couldnt forget the Smiths, our neighbors, just in case the fire spread&.Hmmmm. I think wed need a moving van! Lets just hope we never need to evacuate.

Can someone please take a look at my Rutgers application essay?

Talk about yourself more. Don't come off as desperate. Vary your sentence structure. Use more sophisticated word choice. Lengthen all the paragraphs. Put some anecdotes in. Don't sound like every other student who wants to get in when you apply. Combine short paragraphs with similar themes or topics. Don't repeat yourself. Try to introduce a unique perspective. Take all my advice with a grain of salt.

When I try to speak English, words don't come out right. How can I speak fluent English?

Most likely you are afraid of making a mistake.I suffered the same in learning Spanish, and I see it as one of the greatest obstacles for my English students. One of my students recently told me he was in a store and wanted to ask in English, "What is the price of this item?" He planned it out perfectly in his mind, walked up to the attendent, and said "wutprsths?" When the attendent (obviously) did not understand, so my student just said "price," and got the answer he needed.Often we may say "I don't mind making mistakes, I know no one is going to throw tomatoes at me" but deep inside we feel that it is something terrible to speak poorly, and so are terrified of saying something wrong. As a result we overthink what we are trying to say, analyzing the grammar and syntax instead of just pouring forth concepts. This makes speaking very awkward. This can even happen when you are alone, speaking to yourself, because you constantly doubt if what you said is correct (I speak from experience)!Polygot Sid Efromovich points out that we are trained from youth to shun the feeling of having done something wrong, but in learning languages we must seek it, because that means we are crossing into new territory and learning. (See the video below, 29:00)When you are writing you can take time to think about how words should be organized - you cannot while speaking. So you just have to go for it. Spit the words out, and if they are wrong, that's OK. One successful English learner told me that making mistakes was the best learning tool, because he was so embarrased he remembered the correction! From my own experience and research and watching others, I believe the only solution to your problem is to listen to and speak a lot of English. It has to be a natural process that you don't think about, which will only come with lots of practice - as with any skill, from baseball to piano playing to speaking.
