Can I Wear A Black Suit And Bow Tie To Homceoming

Can I wear a grey suit to prom if my date is wearing a black dress?

Yes!! Put some nice color in there with your shirt and maybe use a black tie or bow tie to match the dress, and ask her if working around the colors of  your shirt would be acceptable as the color for her corsage or hand corsage.  Emmanuel has a great answer also if you can work some gray in the corsage-perhaps some silver-gray ribbon to tie in with the suit with flowers to match your shirt-even a white shirt would be classic. Have FUN! (And please be safe and responsible)

What do guys wear to homecoming?

Always best to err on the formal side. If you're going somewhere more casual a pair of khakis ( higher waist no pleats and a comfortable leg with a crease) a button down and a more casual tie like a knit or seasonal fabrics such as wool or cotton. For shoes I'd go with a dark brown slip on loafer. Matching socks should be given. Finally either a sweater or a blazer, not a suit jacket because that looks like you spilt something on your pants and grabbed the closest thing before leaving. If it's more formal a dark suit with dark shoes preferably a lace up with a matching belt and watch. In this case a muted shirt in either stripes or a light colored dress shirt. Just my 2 cents though!

I'm wearing an all black suit, with a black shirt. So I was asking, is it okay to go to prom without a tie? What colour of tie would you recommend?

Personally I'm tired of seeing the all-black look on the red carpet. It's been done so much for so long now and, when I see it, I think the guy must have given his stylist the night off then panicked and dressed himself, going with the safest possible option - all black. That said, it can still be a hot look but you have to make it your own. Your suit and shirt need to fit perfectly. Add some nicely-shined black dress shoes (maybe a double monk strap), some fun, colorful socks, and... boom! Depending how dressy your date is going, you could consider some slick athletic shoes or even some colorful Chucks. Prom, tho, is for many young folks the first chance to get dressed up - like a grown-up, and go out for a beautiful evening. Think about what you'll want these prom memories to be in ten or twenty years. Yeah, we all end up laughing at our hairstyles, but that's unavoidable. Back to now: If you'll have a boutonnière, that will add a nice pop of color. A bright pocket square will also up your game and give the all-black some panache. Tie or not is up to you. As long as you don't have a dress code to follow, wear whatever you'd feel comfortable in. If you don't feel the need to wear what the other guys are wearing, do your own thing and own it! Generally, your tie should never be lighter than your shirt so that rules out just about everything-- oh, other than black. Anything else is going to look gimmicky, and a black tie is just going to disappear on a black shirt, so... why bother? The black tie exception would be one that I own- a black background with paisley outlines in different colors. I'd pick out one or more of the paisley colors for my socks and pocket square and call it done. Whatever you wear, go and have a great time with your friends! You'll soon be parting ways heading for bigger and better things. I wish you the best!

What should I wear with a grey suit to prom?

So i have a light grey suit (see pictures #2 and #3, suit and pattern) and I'm wondering what to buy with it. I'm really inclined towards brown for now and i was at the urge of buying shoes similarly styled as my belt (picture #1). I'm not sure about this yet and i might be ending up just going with black, but i really like the idea of brown.I have already have a white shirt. So what would be the best to go with this kinda combination?Brown shoes, belt and bowtie (plus the napkin that goes into the pocket), or is that too much brown.Red bowtie with black/brown shoes and belt?Or navy blue bowtie/tie and brown/black shoes and belt?Or no bowtie and some kind of tie (although I'm 19 and bowtie seems like a better option for a youngster)I don't know too much about fashion that's why I'm asking here, any help would be great!Thank youPS. The linked picture is kinda what I'm going for, except I'd have a white shirt and no vest.

Should I wear a tux or a suit to prom?

Conventional tuxedos are considered traditional and hence may look boring .On the other hand your suit may be a bit underdressed for the occasion .Take into account the ambience i.e whether it's more of a party or a traditional prom .Then another factor is your height .If you are shorter than most of your piers ,go with suit and tie .If tall ,get the classic bow tie look .Optimal solution : Black fitted blazer and trouser combo with accessory (bow or tie) depending on height .P.S - You can coordinate the colour of your tie or bow with what your partner will wear .That is what proms are for . :D

I have a homecoming date coming up and my date is wearing a white dress, what tie/shirt combos would go best with this?

Ideally, you should go for the white tux, white shirt, black tie/bowtie, Black trouser combo made famous by Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca. If she’s in white and you’re in white, you’ll go great together. However, if you can’t get a white tux jacket, no big deal. You can go for something very traditional, yet fresh looking. You can definitely go for a slim fit white shirt, black slim tie combo.Make sure you wear a white pocket square to spruce up the look.Another classic but handsome combo is slim white shirt, slim white tie/bowtie, slim white vest. It is rarely seen these days but it’s callback to the original tux look. The most important factor for a great men’s formal outfit is fit. Make sure that it fits close to the body. Most men’s stores offer tailoring services, so be sure to take advantage of them. And also, don’t forget to have a great time!

Should I wear a dress or suit to prom?

Im a stud- girl who dresses like a boy. I want to go to prom wearing a suit and take my girlfriend but my mom wants me to wear a dress and my girl agrees and thinks I should go to prom with a boy instead but I don't want to.

Is it ok to wear a suit for prom? How do you make a suit look like a tux? Whats the difference?

The biggest difference between a tuxedo and a suit are the satin lapels on a tux jacket and the stripes running down the outside seam of the tux pants. The jacket usually has covered buttons whereas a regular suit jacket will have regular hard buttons.
People do wear regular suits for prom with a vest and bow tie so you won't be so unusual and if you are comfortable doing that go for it. Otherwise consider investing in the purchase of a tux if you think you'll wear it again before you grow or put on / lose weight. You could also check for second hand tux in charity shops or sometimes the tux rental stores sell used tuxes at bargain prices.
Enjoy prom whatever you decide to wear!
