Can I Wear This Dress For My Graduation Ceremony

What should I wear to my graduation ceremony?

Plan what to wear under your robe. Some people assume that what they wear on graduation doesn't matter because it will be covered up by a bulky robe. I completely disagree -- wearing something great underneath your robe is important for several reasons:First of all, you might not have time to changebetween the ceremony and dinner with your extended family, your best friend's graduation rager, or your last night on the town with your best friends. You'll want to have something on that's cute and stylish so you can leave college with a bang.Secondly, I have one tip for you all that I wish someone had told me a year ago when I graduated -- wear a dress with pockets! Carrying a purse --even a cross-body bag -- will look really strange while marching down the procession with 500+ of your classmates. Leave your wallet and such in your car (or with your parents if possible) and only keep your keys, phone, and a camera with you. Also, it's important to wear something somewhat sleek. A graduation robe will add enough bulk on its own, so a really full skirt will look strange under it. If a skin-tight bandage dress just isn't your thing, look for relaxed-cute items that will be comfortable but not add any extra volume.Lastly, check the weather. Nothing will cramp your style quite like freezing (or burning up) while you're trying to listen to a graduation speech.Consider footwear. The only part of your outfit that people will be able to see is your shoes, so wear a cute, somewhat dressy pair, and be sure to paint your toenails, too! Sexy, sky-high stilettos might be a little inappropriate, but the occasion calls for something fancier than a pair of sandals. I would recommend a pair of wedges or 2-3 inch heels -- this way, you'll look great but still be able to walk the long distance they'll probably have you march. Be sure to break in your shoes and practice walking in them before the date arrives - the last thing you'd want to do is fall down or be uncomfortable during Commencement!

What should a girl wear in graduation ceremony?

if the gown is white, definitely wear something light-colored and non-patterned underneath it b/c they gown material is usually see through. if your ceremony is outdoors, consider wearing clothes that will keep you cool. for mine, i wore beige shorts and a white t-shirt. however, my mom was very unhappy with me b/c all my friends are in pretty flowered dresses for the pictures after and i have on shorts an a t-shirt :) probably something i should have considered...ha ha ha.

i want to add a comment about the mortarboard b/c it drives me nuts when girls wear them incorrectly :) i am a high school teacher, and i share this info with all my students. the flat part of your cap is supposed to sit right on top of your head so that it is parallel to the ground and the front part is over your forehead. it is certianly not the most comfy thing to wear, but it looks odd when girls bobby pin it to the back of their head so the flat part is straight up and down. i realize this is unsolicted advice, but i'll hope that you are not offended since i want you to look your best on this proud day. enjoy!

What should I wear on my husband's graduation ceremony? Any suggestions will be appreciated?

My husband will have graduation ceremony this monday, I already have clothes for him to wear but I haven't decided yet what I should wear. I already have one dress that I am planning on wearing but I am not sure if its appropriate, it's a blue strapless dress and there's ruffles on the bottom and I am going to wear light and small blazer with it, is it appropriate for the occasion and weather?

What should I wear to a middle school graduation ceremony?

Depends.

My Junior High told everyone that the graduation ceremony itself was not to in anyway, be super formal. Just to dress nice. So if your nice is just a long shirt with leggings, that's cool. Wear that. I wore a skirt and nice top even though I mostly wore jeans to school. Unless you dress like a super tomboy, no one will think you look weird. :P And if you do well, surprise them. We wore the nicer, fancier dress, to our semi-formal dance which was were the guys were tuxs and girls wore the pretty dresses you would wear to like, a wedding or something. Even if you're not super girly, you could still wear a summer dress or something, you don't have to wear a super fancy dress. Make sure it's comfy too! And if you have never worn heels and want to, go for heels that are padded at the bottom, small heels (kitten heels are your friend and now very stylish), thick heels are the easiest to walk in, and make sure you try them out before and break them in, or it could be a very painful night for you.

My friend's Junior High's however, have had different receptions. basically they wore the fancier dresses to their grad.

I'd suggest asking former grads that you may know or the teachers themselves about dress code. It really depends on the school and what YOU feel comfortable in. If you don't wear a super fancy dress, don't stress. No one looks good in something they feel awkward in.

What should I wear under a royal blue gown for graduation ceremony?

i would reccommend focusing on a nice bold shoes because your gown will cover up your dress.... maybe black wedge shoes because it goes with everything! silver would also be a pretty color! you should stay away from ballet flats, and go with heels! it makes a bold fashion statement!

that being said your dress should not be neglected! your going to want to take off that gown at some point and take pictures!! :) the dress your planning to wear seems beautiful! i'm just going to give you one advice: go with a dress that makes you feel amazing and make sure it is a nice color contrast with your gown! <3 good luck!

Can you walk in a college graduation ceremony in dress uniform?

It would be up to the rules and policies of the SCHOOL.

In 1992, when I finished MY B.A. on active duty, Cal State San Diego forbade it... I was out on cruise anyway. When I finished my Masters through I walked with my uniform on UNDER my gown.

My little Brother graduated UC Berkeley in 1989... he wore cap & gown for the BA ceremony, and of course his uniform for his NROTC graduation and commissioning.

It is the exact design but the color is a light pumpkin color. I'm not sure if I should wear it or not because of its long length. I think that it is too long to wear to a Medical School graduation. What does everyone else think?
