Can My Condensate Line Be Clogged Even If I Don

Home A/C condensation line dripping?

The condensation line that comes out of the back of the house is constantly dripping water. Its to the point that the ground is staying wet. Is this a problem? I had someone come last year and clean it out which cost me $150. I don't think that's the issue since the water seems to be running out freely. Should I be worried or is this normal? I live in TX and its about 95 degrees here, 60% humidity, and I run the AC on 75.

What are the reasons a plumber would snake a clogged waste line from your roof?

The biggest reason to snake from the roof is there is no cleanout outside the property to access when there's a stoppage on the main line. We don't like to pull the toilet and run the line because of the mess it creates.Same goes for kitchen, tub, washer, and lavatory drains; provided there's a separate vent that serves these fixtures. The disadvantage is the time and effort it takes to get set-up on a roof, and,if u get your cable stuck up there because you've grabbed a root ball your going to have a bad day. Most plumbers, if they have the time, will try to probe for the drain outside.Another reason to vent snake the line is if you have a bathroom that branches off the trunk line. Even if you have a cleanout your cable is just gonna go right past the branch line that is clogged

Someone flushed a potato down my toilet and it's clogged my drain, sewage is washing back up into my bathtub. How would I dissolve the potato? I can't afford a plumber and my landlord is refusing to do anything.

Ouch. There are are some pieces of advice to use an acid based drain cleaner. Do you know what kind of plumbing you have? If it’s metal drain pipes such as copper or cast iron, particularly if it is old, I would not do that. Drano and similar products, on the other hand, is safe for all plumbing. It’s a very strong ‘base’ that will not dissolve metals or plastics, but does require equal care.Ian Middleton’s solution of the snake is good. Though I’d probably use a snake like this one instead: http://www.globalindustrial.com/...You can get them at Home Depot and/or Lowe’s. There’s a better mechanical advantage with these. If that doesn’t work, you can take the toilet off of it’s base. and you will probably be able to see the potato and remove it. (or have even better access with the snake). If you do this, you also need to purchase a wax seal like this one:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004I3...(also available at all major home improvement warehouses). You may also need to purchase new bolts to hold the toilet down if the current ones are rusted on. The guy in the plumbing department can help you get the right ones. They come in pairs and all you need is two. You may need a hacksaw to cut off the excess to put the plastic cover back on.If there is caulk at the bottom of the toilet, you’ll have to cut it with a knife. Here’s a video for how to change out a toilet seal.

Why does the Bath tub drain keep clogging even after using draino?

when you have a clog and use draino the draino just runs along the botttom of the pipe and burns a small opening in the bottom of the clog, therefor it only takes a couple of uses with a little more hair to re clog the small hole the draino made.

your best bet is to have it snaked out by a plumber, is the cost of a plumber is an issue for you, try foaming draino, it may do a better job since it is supposed to foam up in the pipe rather than just run along the bottom like typical drain cleaners

How can I prevent future drain clogs?

There are a few things that are worse than having a blocked drain. They can cause some major problems and even lead to expensive repairs. So here are some ways that you can prevent a clogged drain in your home. Then we will talk about how to get rid of clogs. In Your Kitchen:If You Don’t Have a DisposalDon’t let food go down your drain. Use a strainer in the kitchen sink so that the food is kept out. This will help with preventing clogs in your drain.Don’t ever pour oil or grease down the drain. Rather, you should pour your grease into a container that you can seal and throw that container into your trash. If you don’t do this, the grease can become stuck in the pipes and cause it to be clogged.Pour boiling water down into the sink each week so that you are melting any grease or fat that could have collected in the pipes. Make sure that you are pouring it slowly so that it won’t splash. If You Have a DisposalDon’t put certain kinds of food in the disposal. Some of the problem foods are coffee grounds, potato skins, eggshells, and banana peels. These are sticky and thick foods and they don’t grind very well in a garbage disposal.Make sure you’re running a cold stream of water anytime you’re running the garbage disposal. The water flow is going to carry your waste completely through your drainage system. In Your Bathroom:In your bathroom’s tub and sink, clean your drain stoppers regularly. Gunk such as soap scum and hair often collect on the tub and sink stoppers so that drainage is slowed.Don’t flush any heavy paper items down your toilet. Using a lot of paper can lead to your toilet or your entire sewer system clogging. If you are looking for a way to help prevent major problems in your plumbing and to get rid of clogs check out the rest of this article: Tips for Preventing and Removing Clogs - TitanZ Plumbing - Port Charlotte, FL

How do I stop water leaking from an air conditioner?

Hello,Let me share few points which may help you1. Condenser pump may cause the leaking in AC so check whether you have a broken pump ( pour water into the condenser pan and test it).  If this is not the case then you’ll probably need  to repair the motor or the condenser itself.2. Problem in the drain line: Clog drain line can cause blockage.  Clear any blockage and the leaking should stop. This is a frequent reason for most cases.3. Blocked vents can cause high pressure in AC unit which leads to leakage so examine your AC vent for any blockage and clear it up.4. If the seal is loose and not proper this leads to leakage too. Resealing will solve this issue. 5. If none of the above works, then maybe improper installation would be the issue. At times very cold temperature may also cause this and will be fine if the temp. stabilize. My toilet is clogged. I closed the shutoff valve. What happens if I flush the toilet with shutoff valve closed?

A2A. With the supply line closed, the only additional water in the bowl will come from whatever is in the Tank. If your drain line is clogged, the excess water (and any backflow) will end up on your floor. If you just want to see if your blind is clogged, fill a bucket from the bathtub and slowly pour it into the toilet bowl. Stop if you see it is not draining properly and start “snaking” your system until you have cleared the clog. Begin using the snake at the furthest access point you can find and work back to the bowl. Most “drain snakes” you see in stores are often too short to be fully effective. You may need a professional with a long, powered snake. Without further details about your particular system, this is the only advice I can give.

Why is my air-conditioner not draining water?

Hello! In order to fix your air conditioner problem, you may need to clean your A/C unit condensate drain line. The condensate drain removes condensation produced by your air conditioners evaporator coil. Also, if the drain is clogged, it will prevent water from draining so, you may need to clean out the drain. How to Clean your Air Conditioner Drain:Turn off your A/C unit and locate the condensate pan.If there is water in the drain pan, than your drain line is most likely clogged. Use a rage or a handheld shop vacuum to remove the water. You can use the shop vacuum to suck out the contents of the clogged drain, let it suck it out for about a minute.Next, locate the access point in the drain line, should be a T-shaped vent cover. Remove the cover and inspect the drain, use this to flush the drain with vinegar to remove odors.Let the solution sit for 30 minutes then flush the pipe with water and have someone watch the pipe to see if the water is running. If you are still having problems, check out our website Point & Click Appliance Repair for more repair help and for any parts you may need! Can I run water down my drain vent to clear it?

Probably, but something unexpected could go badly wrong. For instance, I discovered the hard way that the previous owners of my house did some shoddy work when they changed the kitchen plumbing. My parents were visiting...I had then recently bought the house. My mother was cooking and kind of over-burdened the kitchen disposal and clogged the drain line. Our efforts to clear the clog pushed food debris and water up the vent line....and that is when I discovered that the new PVC plumbing was not fulling connected to original vent pipe. (house c1928) so water filled the wall cavity.Who could have anticipated this? I was lucky that this was an exterior wall and I had been replacing shingles in just this area on the exterior. I was able to pull off some old shingles and clean and dry the wall cavity. Though pouring water down the vent should be no problem, you never know.
