How can a non-friend avoid the other inbox and message me directly on Facebook?
Chances are it's a friend of a friend; if you have "basic filtering" on your FB inbox, generally (1) friends of friends and (2) people you're in groups with can avoid the "other" box. You could change that to "strict" filtering and only friends' messages would give you the red flag. Of course, if you respond to a message in the "other" box, it's automatically moved to the regular inbox.I speculate that it's possible also (but I don't have proof of this yet) that if you've had some contact with the person via e-mail or phone outside FB (some people allow FB access to their phone contact list) that that too would make them show up as "people you might know".

Okay. It's a long story but me and my bestfriend are no longer friends, I didn't do anything though, she's the one who was in the wrong and so I haven't talked to her in months. I forgive her, I don't hate her, and I wish her the best but I just don't wanna be friends with her cause I have trust issues. Well, it's been months, and the other day I was hanging out with a group of friends who are her friends but they wanted to hang out with me cause they wanted to know what happened between us, and I guess my ex-bestfriend found out and got mad cause no one knows the truth about what happened, they just know her side of the story which is a "joke" that went too far. That night after hanging out with her friends, she messaged me saying she's sorry and all that. Now, I want to know, should I message her back? Cause I know it's my decision and all but I can't tell if she messaged me the night I was with her friends out of coincidence or because she got mad and just wanted to talk to me and make sure I didn't tell them what really happened. I mean it's been months and she still can't apologize to my face, but when she sees that I'm with other friends she goes ahead and says sorry, do you think it'd be a coincidence or cause she meant to .

If I were to message someone who's not my friend on Facebook using the Messenger app, would they get the notifications on their phone even if they don't have messenger?
Previously the message would hop into the Others folder which was usually considered a graveyard. No one ever looks into that even when I went into it for first time I was amazed that I had like 39 messages from others users. Besides Now, I can see that facebook has added a new feature and whenever you receive a new message you will get a notification saying "You have a new message request" so you can easily look into and its your wish to accept or to decline that message.So I would suggest you to send him a message again now and It will surely be seen by him and if he does not reply then stop stalking him. Hoping that would clear your doubts.
I can't view my friend's profile on Facebook but I can still message her, what does it mean?
No.It does, however, mean that you’re placed into a group with limited access to her profile information (so everyone else in her friend group can see her profile, but you might be in the ‘restricted’ group that is set to only see her profile picture or whatever).The best thing to do is to ask a mutual acquaintance to see your friend’s profile on her computer, and if you can see the full profile, then that confirms it.
