Excessive yawning and urination?
so this has been going on for 2 days now. urination has gone way up to where im running to the bathroom at the minimum of 2 times in one hour. yawning has stayed the same tho. the yawning is a little odd. yesterday the yawning was like normal yawning but obviously very frequent. today however its like...im TRYING to yawn and i feel it, but sometimes get stuck and cant finish it. then other times its just normal but really long(twice as long with the stuck yawns). my neck is starting to hurt me now, and i just don't know what to do really. any suggestions are greatly helpful.

I was prescribed Prozac and I took the first one last Friday afternoon(20mg) Later that night I woke up with a terrible headache and I felt tired all day the next day. I have'nt taken anymore and I still have a headache 2 days later. has anyone had bad headaches with this drug? I don't think I want to take it.

Once the Serotonin levels build up at the pre synapses, the Serotonin hyperstimulates its receptors which uses up a lot of energy in cells. This increased metabolism is likened to working a lot. I just took my very first dose of Prozac, & I just got this chest pain out of nowhere, it hurts when I breathe in, is this ok....or fatal, I suffer from anxiety, so its seriously freaking me out, please help so I don't go into panic mode lol.

Why do SSRIs cause sleepiness?
SSRI’s may cause sleepiness in some cases, but certainly not all. The mechanism of action is thought to be increased intrasynaptic Serotonin from the blockade of Serotonin reuptake. As an increase in Serotonin levels is often associated with sleep onset, SSRI’s may cause increased yawning, sleepiness, and myoclonic movements that are similar to those experienced during sleep initiation. This varies widely from patient to patient and can range from mildly annoying to quite unpleasant and may necessitate tapering off the SSRI’s . There is some tendency for some SSRI’s to be more sedating with Paxil and Luvox being more so in my clinical experience than Zoloft or Prozac, but this is a clinical impression that should not be relied on to choose therapy. The effect usually wears off with tapering off the medication, however it’s wise to work with your treating physician to let her/him know of the problem as soon as possible.
