Can She Take The Dog Back From Me

Should I take my aggressive dog back to the shelter?

I adopted a mix-breed dog (who was about 1 y.o.) 5 years ago from a no-kill shelter. Her behavior has always been a problem, but continues to get worse and worse. She is agressive towards other dogs, strangers, my friends and even myself. Her outbursts occur with little provocation. (For ex: she snarled and tried to bite me this morning when I passed by on the way to the bathroom). She has bitten me many times before. She barks ferociously and snarls in a way that makes Cujo look cuddly. I've tried training classes (we were asked to leave on account of her behavior), consulted the vet, read books, followed The Dog Whisperer w/ devotion, etc. All of my efforts do not pay off. My dog has NO respect for me or anyone. I love her dearly but she is starting to scare me! I really worry that she will hurt me or somebody else. I know I will be riddled w/ guilt if I bring her back, but I also fear lawsuit and injury. Help! Any advice?

Old owner wants dog back?

Hi,
I have had a dog for about three months. At first I was hesitant about taking him in, but said I would do it on a trial basis (verbally) for a month, and if it worked out, I would keep him. This is a divorce situation that the dog came from.

He has been doing well, I had his ears cleared up. . through my vet,.although he may have lasting hearing problems from recurrent ear infections prior to us having him, not the previous owners fault, fault of the vets. I had him licensed about a month ago, recieved vet records in the mail.

Now, the previous owner (the wife) wants him back. One thing I didn't receive were his papers. He was given to me free, as they thought (the couple, now separated) that this was the best home. She is having second thoughts. The dog has bonded with my other dogs, and my children. I realize that this is a family dog, that they did have him for a few years.

I wondered why the sudden change of heart, and the ex wife is now settled in her apartment.

Legally, where do I stand?? Thanks.

Can we get a dog back after we "surrendered" it?

Some background information: I'm 20, been living with my mom and two sisters while I attend college the next town over, though this month I dropped out so I can go live with my dad and (hopefully) more easily find work (then eventually attend college there). We have two dogs, one I'll be taking with me, and two cats.

At the beginning of December, I found a puppy under my car. We kept her while we tried to find her a home (because we knew mom wouldn't be willing to keep her) ideally to a friend or someone we know and trusted. After no luck on that front, my mom pushed us to give her away to a no kill shelter out of state. None of us wanted to go through with this as we all grew very attached to her. Despite this, my sisters and I drove to where the representative of the shelter asked us to meet them, gave her away, and then left.

My sister has been talking it over with me and she said that since I'm moving soon, they could take on another pet. We talked it over with ma and she doesn't think it'll work out due to us "surrendering" her to the shelter, but says if we can make it work, she'd allow it.

Now this is the key thing: we never signed anything that said we surrendered her. I'm thinking if they'd be willing to transfer her to a shelter near where my family lives, we can get her back.

Considering all these factors: could we get this dog back?

When can I take my female dog exiting her heat cycle back to the dog park?

She started her heat cycle the day before Mother's Day so I've kept her away from the dog park since. Now that she's "bleeding" again and isn't flagging her tail to the side and "flirting" with my male anymore (who is neutered), I'm curious to know when the appropriate time would be to let her romp through the dog park again.

I've never had a female before so this is fairly new to me.

For those of you ready to bash on me for not spaying her before her first heat cycle, I do not plan on breeding her. I was going to wait until she was fully mature to get her spayed until I found out about OSS and decided that's what we're going to do. You wouldn't remove your GROWING child's reproductive organs, why would you insist on doing that to your beloved dog. And considering the pros and cons of spaying I believe getting a partial spay is more beneficial. So please, I'm asking you not to leave comments on getting her spayed asap as I'm doing what's best for her overall health. Thank you

If someone gives you a dog, then wants it back, what are your rights?

A friend of mine gave me a dog because she couldn't keep the dog where she was living. Now she has found a place where she can keep the dog and wants it back. My family and I have had this dog for approx. 3 months and she has become a member of our family in every way possible. She is threatening to take us to court over "OUR" dog. She didn't come to see the dog or anything for 3 months and she gave the dog to us. Does she have a case? Should my family and I be worried about these threats?

I was given a dog and now the original owner wants it back...?

Sorry, long story.

A friend of a friend was given a puppy to "cheer her up" and she had to give up the puppy because her mother would not allow the puppy in the house so she had to find a new home for her. My friend took her, however, the puppy did not get along with one of their animals so she had to find a new place for the puppy. That's where I come in.

My fiance and I were looking for a puppy to add to our family (we have a 7yr old dog at home too) and met our new puppy through my friend. She said she needed to find a good permanent home for her since her friend couldn't keep her. Well, over a month later my friend's friend decided that since her mother passed away a week earlier, she could now have the dog in the house and wanted the puppy back. We have grown attached to her and don't want to give her up. Does she have a legal case to take the dog back?

Can I take my dog with me as an Uber driver, in the car, if she was enclosed in the back area of my van and not able to see the passengers?

I drive for Uber and I bring one of my Boston Terriers with me. The customers love it. As Peter Ashlock stated, allergies or fear of dogs can be an issue, so I text the following preformatted message to each customer:Hi, this is your driver. I have a small dog along for the ride. If this is problematic for you (allergy or fear of dogs) let me know.90% of the time I get back “OMG I love dogs!!” or “No problem”. Once in a blue moon someone replies that they have allergies or are afraid in which case I cancel at no charge and stay off the grid for a minute so they can call another driver. So far it’s been a very positive experience overall. It makes my ride unique and is always an ice-breaker for conversation.

Bought a min pin on craigslist now they say they can take the dog back ?

They sold the dog and have no rights at all to it. They can't see it, can't have pics of it or anything. Its no longer their dog. It became YOUR dog the moment they sold it so she can't do anything

Don't send her any pics or anything. its not her dog any more therefore she has no rights to it and has no right to know anything about it. Microchip the dog and have it put under your name so she will have no leg to stand on at all
