Do girls think shyness/low self confidence is unattractive?
ive always been a shy person...which leads me to believe ill never hook up with anyone...which leads to low confidence...however when i get to kno someone...all of that goes away..but only around that person...ive been friends with her for a while now i have have feelings for her...she knows im shy and have low self esteem...but we get along like best friends? People already kno how i am....whats done is done...do girls find this unattractive and what can i do to change my influence on girls..since they see me as a shy low self esteem person already?
As a shy guy, is it better to simply not think about asking women out?
Story of a shy guy,I had never talked to any girls till my 10th grade. After 10th grade i choose to do diploma in a very little know field which had less girls in class. I never talked much to girls even if i had to talk it mostly involved subject or notes (advantages of being studious). So the problem was I never asked or tried to know the girls at their personal level (which is essential if like that girl). I never took the effort learn this skill which had became big problem for me in final year. In final year I had a crush with one of my junior girl.After a decade of dealing with social anxiety and trying everything from medication, reading every book under the sun and even solo travelling around the world to try and break out of my shell I’ve finally figured out what it takes. And honestly it could have been done in a few weeks.Everyone is, of course, different. And we all experience different levels of shyness or social anxiety. But when you come right down to everyone is dealing with the same learned behavioural problem with the same root cause and same root cure.Learned experience has caused it. Whether you were 5 or 35 the lower levels of your brain has learned to fear social situations. And the answer is re-training this lower level of your brain in a controlled way (because just throwing yourself into the deep end reinforces the problem in the long run). In theory, I learned that a long time ago. Putting it into practice was another story. I know how easy it is to get the feeling nobody else is going through the same thing as you are but I promise you at the root it’s all the same thing. I spent years hiding away in my room watching TV and playing games because I was easier than going out and facing people as much as I really wanted to. Watching others lead lives I wish I had but never understanding how they managed to talk to people so easily.I’m not normally one to suggest self-help books. Partly because I’m a guy and partly because I’ve read a load of them and most don’t actually have anything you can use in the real world. You can be shy, what you can't be is self-conscious. You need to be confident with your body to work as a stripper. I was rather shy when I started but it wasn't a big problem, dancing actually made me a more confident person. You shouldn't do it if you feel you are doing something wrong or degrading but if you just feel shy, it's rather common among beginners. Stop using the terms ,”Shy” & “Introversion” as block for building friendship.When I was in school, I was comfortable with guy friends but face difficulty interacting with girls. Somewhere my mindset wasn’t developed to interact with them freely. Girls and teachers thought he is a shy guy.Grew up, joined college, workplace and started realizing if you want to work together, you have to interact. Tried to interact and it seems like it easier to build friendships with girls even. Now situation is that some think if I’m not talking to them, probably talking to some girls. People easily judge. We all have this mindset, “If they not talking, Why should I”But, if you serious for friendship, you need to attempt and interact. The more you interact, the better you will know other person and so you able to find if friendship could be possible or not.Half of the time friendship not build or destructs because one think if they not making efforts, then I won’t too. And bring excuses like, “Oh, I’m shy or introvert.” Stop it, man.Friendship is like food. Nobody comes and tell you to eat your food. You do that yourself. Similarly, if you want a friendship to build, go out and interact. Building it could be hard, but not impossible if stay focused to build it.
