Should I ask my gf's dad before giving her a promise ring?
Ok so it will be our one-year anniversary in a couple months and I want to get her a promise ring. She's 19 and I'm 21. We are both attending college. I'm finishing a degree at a University away from home and she's just starting on some pre-req's at a community college back home. Anyway there's no question between us "IF" we're going to get married it's just pretty much when. I know it will be at the least a couple of years since I we're in no shape to get married before then bc of school and life. So I figured a promise ring would be apporpriate. I was wondering if I should talk to her dad about it first. I know both her parents like me but I thought it would be the right thing to do. However, I tend to not do to well explaining those kinds of things, especially to the gf's dad... So should I ask him first? And if so, what should I say? Thanks in advance for the help...
What if I made a promise to God I can't keep?
If I make a promise to God, and realize I may not (again may not) be able to keep it, can I ask him to forgive me? I don't want to break the promise, yet negate it. I don't want to make anymore false promises to God, it makes me seem disgust to him? I really need to become more knowledgeable of God.
