Can The Siri Program Have Or Use An Avatar Attached To It

What are examples of non-immersive, semi-immersive, and immersive virtual reality systems?

There are currently three types of Virtual Reality. There are virtual reality systems like Immersive Terf (www.3dicc.com) which gives you the ability to interact with others as avatars in a 3D virtual space, collaborate, work on docs, use webcams, voice and text. This is a very immersive environment you can walk around, modify, work in groups, and interact with others at a high level. The interaction feels natural and you are able to build good working relationships with your colleagues. There is also Heads Up Display Virtual Reality. This is where you add a headset that when you move your head moves the virtual environment you are looking at. It basically allows you to use your head movement to look around in a virtual world. Glasses like Wearality (www.wearality.com) allow you to naturally look around using your eyes instead of having to move your head and neck around. The difference is that you can look around in a much more natural way which makes you feel more like you are in the virtual space. There are also much more complicated and expensive versions like Oculus Rift but they basically do the same thing, they put you in the scene. There is also Augmented Reality. This is where you use a device to add virtual artifacts to a real world environment. Devices like Microsoft Hololens and even just Pokeyman Go are examples. You can do things like add a virtual pokeymon to a real sidewalk or place a virtual screen on your wall and watch a movie. As you move your head around the virtual screen stays attached to the wall in your room. As long as you wear the glasses or hold up the phone you can see the virtual objects. Microsoft also has a cool video showing people working on a virtual motorcycle. The ultimate goal of Augmented reality is to be able to have your friend sitting in the same room as you but be in a different location. See Vernor Vinge's rainbow's end for an example of what is coming! What is not immersive is anything that doesn’t alter your location or reality. 2D applications like Quora, or Facebook, allows you to watch video but it doesn’t add you to the location and allow you to interact. 2D Webcams or Web Conferencing allows you to see each other, and interact but not in a way that would be considered immersive because you can’t walk away from the group or do your own thing.

Special Effects: Why are there white spots on an actor whose appearance is to be changed by CGI?

The technique that utilizes white spots on the suit is called Motion Capture if we're talking body movements or Performance Capture if capturing facial expressions.White spots are often called "markers" or "tracking markers". An actor performs wearing them. After that, digital artists track the position of markers in space and attach a skeleton of a digital character to those points. This results in an accurate transferring of the real body motion into digital world. The markers have to be contrast with the surrounding fabric so they are easier to track. There is a good deal of videos out there showing the technique, for example like this one
