Can This Be A Possible Scam Cont .2

Say I steal 2 cents from every bank account in America. I am proven guilty, but everyone I stole from says they're fine with it. What happens?

A case like this actually happened in the 1960s. A programmer working on Wall Street opened an account and wrote a program that funneled all the forgotten mills rounded off of each penny into his account. It seemed like he was stealing nothing. It turns out that a weakness in binary systems makes it difficult for them to convert 1 penny correctly so they round up or down. There are often thousandths of a cent that are then ignored and few people, if any, on Wall Street look at the penny column. It was absolutely invisible. But those thousandths of a cent, multiplied by millions of daily transactions add up. He was caught by the sheer size of the numbers that were being generated.He was prosecuted not because anyone cared about those fractions of a cent (they didn’t) but because he was stealing and stealing is against the law.When you steal something it doesn't matter what the victim thinks. The state is obligated to prosecute. The statutes don't often say, "He broke the law but it's ok because his victims don't care". The statutes, while they may take the scale of the injury into account, must prosecute you for breaking the law because "Justice is blind". It's a one size fits all approach, for better or worse.In reality we know what really happens and there are plenty of ways for justice to be derailed long before the judge bangs the gavel and pronounces a sentence, but the theory still applies. It doesn't matter what the victims think. Actions have consequences and you broke the law.

How much does diameter affect contact lens size?

The doctor wrote you a prescription for a specific diameter because it does matter what the diameter is. If you change the diameter by increasing it and having the other parameters like base curve the same, you are actually changing the fit of the lens. Increasing diameter will create a looser fitting lens and this could cause issues with the fit causing discomfort and problems with visual acuity. An improper fitting lens can actually cause damage to your cornea, even though everything "feels" fine.
This is why contact lenses need to be fit and monitored by an eye doctor. The prescription your eye doctor wrote was for the exact same contact lenses you were fit with.
Online contact lens dealers will actually verify the prescription with your eye doctor... so even if you did get away with ordering contact lenses with a different diameter you would probably be wasting your money, because it is likely they will not fit properly.
If you want to order contact lenses online then you will need to find the exact same contact lenses your prescription was written for.
Hope this helps a bit :)

Are paid-to-click websites a scam?

It is a scam from a point that you can never earn even a minor income by clicking advertiser’s ads. Try to register on one paid-to-click website, try clicking ads and then see how much you have earned($0,0X or $0,1X - I would guess) and in what time. Absolutely not worth it even if they are paying your $0,50 on a weekly basis. And specially not worth it if you are asked to “upgrade”(not for free of course) your account to click more ads.Anyone who says they click enough on monthly basis to cover some clothes/party/food/etc. expenses and posts links to “trusted” paid-per-click engines, creates some kind of “wow-this-works” lists - are trying to pull off affiliate schemes. Which are also doomed to be worthless compared to the effort needed to make these actually work.

Physics - Simple Harmonic Motion?

Simple harmonic motion can be described by the following equation for position:

x(t) = A * cos(wt)

A = amplitude
w = angular frequency
t = time
x = position

We are given a frequency of 5 cycles per second.

w = 2pi * f = 10pi

x(t) = A * cos((10pi) * t)

The acceleration is the second time derivative of position:

dx^2/dt^2 = -A * 10pi * 10pi * cos(10pi * t) = -(10pi)^2 * A * cos(10pi * t)

This is our acceleration as a function of time. Notice that it will reach a maximum of "(10pi)^2 * A". The force at maximum is given by:

F = m*a = m *(10pi)^2 * A

If a pebble is giong to remain on the diving board, the force of gravity on the pebble will be equal to the force exerted upwards by the diving board:

F = mg = (10pi)^2 A * m

Now solve for A:

A = g/[ (10pi)^2 ] = 9.8 / [ (10pi)^2 ] = 0.01 m

The maximum amplitude is 0.01 meters.

For the general case (incase I made a numerical error), max amplitude is given by:

A = g / (w^2)

*******It is interesting to note that this did not depend on the mass of the pebble, but the frequency of oscillation.

Hope this helps.

A football punter accelerates a football from rest to physics more in detalis?

A football punter accelerates a football from rest to a speed of 12 m/s during the time in which his toe is in contact with the ball (about 0.26 s). If the football has a mass of 0.50 kg, what average force does the punter exert on the ball?

Physics Friction help!?

m2 = 2kg
m4 = 4kg.

Since there is no relative motion between m2 and m4 we use μs =0.7.

There are two frictional forces one due to the normal force m2g = μm2g
And another due to the normal force m4g = μm4g.
The applied force must be equal and opposite to the sum of these frictinal forces.
--------------------------------------...
a)
F = μ (m2 + m4) g = 0.7*6*9.8 = 41.16 N
--------------------------------------...

b)
a = force / mass = (0.5*41.16) / 6 = 3.47 m/s^2

The frictionla forces are action-reaction pairs and the frictional force is the same on the two blocks and is given by f = m1 a = 2*3.47 m/s^2 = 6.94 N
--------------------------------------...

c)
If the force is 2*41.16 = 82.32 N, then m2 slips on m4 and the frcional force given by

m2a2 = μk*m2g = 0.2*2*9.8 = 3.92 and a2 = 0.2*9.8 = 1.96 m/s^2

Net force = (82.32 -3.92)

Acceleration of 4 kg mass = (82.32 -3.92) / 4 =19.6 m/s^2

How many milligrams of HNO3 can be produced?

Some of the acid in acid rain is produced by the following reaction:
3NO2(g) + H2O(l ) ---> 2HNO3(aq) + NO(g)

If a falling raindrop weighing 0.073 g comes into contact with 1.5 mg of NO2(g), how many milligrams of HNO3 can be produced?

I thought I knew how to do this problem but I can't get the right answer.
(0.073 g H2O * 1 mol H2O * 2 mol HNO3 * 63.01 g HNO3) / (18.01528 g H2O * 1 mol H2O * 1 mol HNO3) to get 0.510 g or 510.64 mg

1.5 mg --> 0.0015g
(0.0015 g NO2 * 1 mol NO2 * 2 mol HNO3 *63.01 g HNO3) / (46.0055 g NO2 * 3 mol NO2 * 1 mol HNO3) to get .0013 g or 1.369 mg

Added together for a total of 512 or 510mg for two sig figs, but this is not the correct answer. Help would be greatly appreciated!
