Can U Change Banks For Accounts That Are In A Trust

SunTrust wont take my change?

What's the deal with this. I just called corporate to confirm this they said that all their branches will refuse to take change unless they are rolled up. Like do people really go out and spend money to roll up their coins? How stupid are people. Or what people don't carry coins anymore? This makes no sense.

Do you trust your bank?

I despise banks with a passion. Banks are out to screw their customers with deceptive credit cards, fees for everything, bad quality loans, and faulty mortgages. Banks screw their shareholders by paying ridiculous compensation packages to their executives, who in turn take risky practices to drive their companies into the ground. Then these same banks run to the taxpayers to bail them out to the tune of countless billions of bailout money. And then these banks give the same customers 0.2% interest on their so called "Super Saver" accounts.

There are few corporations I hate as much as banks.

It will be a happy day when Citi Group, Bank of America, Countrywide, Chase, and all those other companies are allowed to die.

And Bank of America is EVIL. I shudder when I think about the $50 billion we, the taxpayers, gifted BAC as bailout money. A pure case of government being in bed with the banks, their executives, and the lobbyists.

Joint or separate bank accounts when you are married? Lack of trust, or do it for accountability reasons?

My husband and I have both a joint account together and seperate accounts of our own. We had our seperate accounts first, obviously, and saw no reason to close them when we got married. We pay our bills out of the joint account and anything he wants personally, he pays for out of his seperate account- ditto for me.

My husband has been a stay at home dad since our daughter was born 5mo ago, so he hasn't been using his account, although there's money in it. I usually buy him whatever he needs/wants and let his money in his account stack up. We've never had any mistrust between us regarding money. We just feel that money we blend together should specifically be for the house (hence the joint account) but things we want individually, that has nothing to do with the house, has to come out of individual accounts. It's the only fair way to ensure that house money isn't being used for fun purposes.

Do you trust the coin machines at banks to count your change correctly?

These coin machines actually work very well if maintained. It is the bill counter machines that I worry about. I lost 1 bill once, and unfortunately it was a $100 bill, so even after the counter on the machine looks correct, and the clerk shows you that it has counted correctly, count your bills. I made the mistake of believing that the machine was correct and paid for it by not getting the exact amount of $100 bills that was counted. It can be tedious but better safe than sorry.

What can someone do with your bank account number?

I agree with the previous answer. Of course people can try all sorts of things, but any proper bank these days would have security measures in place, online and offline, to prevent that, because in the end they would suffer the biggest damage if they couldn't provide security for their clients’ accounts and money. So yes, I have given other people my account number ever since I had one, even had it on my letter footer as a standard when I was running my own business. Never had any issues.I know a lot of people don’t trust online banking for similar reasons, but, holy crap, sending actual checks across the country all the time? Talk about fraud opportunity here. People pulled all sorts of stunts with checks ever since they first were invented.I would never trust a person who offered to pay their rent by sending me a check every month. Gosh, the effort alone to handle this. I haven’t touched a check in a decade, haven’t physically been to my bank in months. If you manage your online access codes, PINs etc. properly there should be no trouble. And if someone pulls a stunt and succeeds the banks are usually obliged and insured to refund you, for example if a teller doesn’t check ID and they can’t prove it was you withdrawing the money.

Can you open a bank account and use your maiden name, even if you are married and carry your spouses name?

Yes. Your legal name is NOT ALWAYS the same as your married name. The bank will allow you to keep your maiden name on your bank account if you have a valid birth certificate and another form of ID with your maiden name on it. The only way your married name becomes your legal name is if you go through a legal name change and alter the name on your birth certificate.

Do you trust Wells Fargo bank?

When dealing with any financial institution it is important to understand that they are regulated by US. government and they have a commitment to their shareholders for profitability.I trust the bank to follow US. imposed law, so for example as far as the FDIC limit to protect your deposit up to 250K limit yes I do trust them because I personally have faith in US Government commitment towards financial institution (remember bailout?). I also believe that financial companies keep a close records of all transactions and will be dispose it to third parties upon court orders or subpoenas. So if one is trying to hide their funds by layering or structuring cash transactions it is very easy for banks to follow and expose it. As a matter of fact all banks are required to report any suspected activity to government. But when it comes to their profitability, I feel all banks are committed to make money out of their depositors in terms of fees and service charges. It is up to the individual to be aware of these fees, monitor their accounts regularly. Not long ago Wells was accused of opening fraudulent accounts to boost their earnings!! Usually right after these huge lawsuits companies become extra sensitive and monitor the employees activities more closely. Overall in terms of day to day transactions, I find most FDIC insurance financial institutions reliable. Hope this answers your question.

Can I nominate a friend in fixed deposit account in Bank Of Maharashtra?

The main purpose of appointment of a nominee in your bank account is to make available amount lying in your account to your legal heirs without any problem, after the death of account holder,(s).Account holder can cancel appointment of nominee or change the nominee by giving declaration to bank in prescribed form for nomination. The repayment of proceeds of fixed deposit after the death of account holder to nominee is simple process but nominee is not the owner of assets. He or she will have again to distribute proceeds of fixed deposit to legal heirs of the account holder. If the nominee is not close relative or one of the legal heirs then you are unnecessarily creating problems for them.Legal heirs will have to approach court for claiming their legal right to funds in case your friend( nominee)  refuse to handover amount of fixed deposit.Hence it is better to appoint a nominee whom you trust so as to avoid unpleasant situation in future.
