Can Water Out Of A Plastic Cup Give You Heartburn/indigestion

I get heartburn and acid reflux from eating cucumbers. Why does my fiance not believe me?

Everytime I eat cucumbers (with or without the peel) I get heartburn and/or acid reflux. My fiance insists that I am crazy and that I just don't want to eat them. How can I convince her that I am not crazy?

Can water out of a plastic cup give you heartburn/indigestion?

Hi! I know my question is a bit odd, but I'm seriously wondering.

For the past few weeks, 5-6 give or take, I've been having heartburn off and on. At first I thought it was caused by something I was eating (maybe it is, I don't know) but I haven't really changed my diet any. I'm a vegan. I eat a lot of fresh fruit & vegetables, whole grains (mostly oats but I also eat quinoa, brown rice, farro, & couscous - very seldomly though), I do eat tofu as it's a general protein thing but only about 6 oz a day (lunch/dinner. 3 oz is a single serving). Another thing I indulge in is soy milk (organic, non-gmo) & coffee.

I've been drinking & cooking with soy milk a bit more here lately, but I've never known it to cause me any problems & when I get heartburn it's usually not after I've had soy milk (or tofu). Coffee is a very seldom thing - I generally don't go over a cup.

So to sum that portion up, that's my diet. I've never really changed it up. The only thing that has changed here lately is the containers in which I'm drinking my water from. I usually use glass cups, but have recently switched to a plastic water bottle. Do you think that could possibly be the cause of my heartburn? If not, what could be?

Also, exercise (cardio) is something I do regularly but on the days were I'm feeling ick (mostly from heartburn), I don't exercise at all.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

What difference does it make if I drink water stored in a stainless steel, silver, copper, clay, or glass jug?

Storing water in sliver or copper jug can sterilize the water after a few hours. This is due to the fact the these two materials have the property of releasing ions that kills the microbes. This property is known as oligo dynamic property. Keep in mind that cooking food in copper vessels is not a good idea as it causes formation of toxins that can harm you. Also copper is a best conductor of heat amongst "affordable" metals which is why copper vessels were used for boiling water long ago. Now its place has been taken place by stain less steel. In this age of technology we no longer need copper or silver jugs to sterilize our water when we have UV and RO filters which are safe and harmless contrary to popular belief.Clay jugs just have the property to keep water cool. They used to act as water coolers of the by gone era, they can reduce the water temperature by a few degrees lower than the room temp. Since the clay jug is slightly porous some water passes though its body and evaporates .As the process of evaporation occurs it takes away some heat from the contents of this jug thus causing cooling. Don't try this by the way. Most us are not used to drinking this water and lack the resistance that our elders had. You might get a sore throat ( I know from experience I used to try all these experiments when I was young). its possible that in the clay jug overnight some microbes might breed, which could cause a minor throat infection.Stainless steel and glass jugs are now used cause they are cheap and modern alternatives to the no longer required copper, silver and clay jugs. we now have water coolers/fridge and water purifiersTO FINALLY ANS YOUR QUESTION : it really makes no difference from which jug you drink your water from today as long as its clean drinking water that has been filtered.

What mass of NaHCO3 would she need to ingest to neutralize this much HCl? Round your answer to 2 significant digits.?

Sodium hydrogen carbonate
NaHCO3, also known as sodium bicarbonate or "baking soda", can be used to relieve acid indigestion. Acid indigestion is the burning sensation you get in your stomach when it contains too much hydrochloric acid HCl, which the stomach secretes to help digest food. Drinking a glass of water containing dissolved
NaHCO3 neutralizes excess
HCl through this reaction:

HCl (aq) + NaHCO3 (aq) →NaCl (aq) + H2O (l) +CO2 (g)

The CO2 gas produced is what makes you burp after drinking the solution.
Suppose the fluid in the stomach of a woman suffering from indigestion can be considered to be 150.mL of a 0.043 M HCl solution. What mass of NaHCO3
would she need to ingest to neutralize this much HCl? Round your answer to 2
significant digits.

Is a fizzy tablet in water exothermic or endothermic?

The folks at Pasco think the reaction is endothermic. "Students will measure the temperature change resulting from the endothermic reaction of Alka-Seltzer tablets with water."

The tablet contains citric acid, C6H8O7, and baking sodia, NaHCO3 which react to make CO2 gas. The balanced chemical equations follows.

3NaHCO3(aq) + H3C6H5O7(s) --> Na3C6H5O7(aq) + 3CO2(g) + 3H2O)l)
