Can this Iphone be activated on StraightTalk?
It's an iphone 5c (model A1532). It does not have a sim card in it. My daughter got it from her friend who fixes and reconditions iphones for a living. The phone has never been activated on any network(apparently original purchaser broke the screen before he activated it) but he says it is compatible with At&T. How can I verify this? And will it work on ST? How can I check?

Unfortunately, a Verizon phone (Or Sprint) cannot be used on straight talk due to Verizon's use of a CDMA network unlike T-Mobile and AT&T’s use of GSM.See, CDMA phones do not need a SIM card because all the data that is stored on a GSM sim card, including customer information, phone number, accont ID, account balance, etc, is stored on a flash chip within a CDMA phone. Newer Verizon phones use a SIM card to utilize the LTE network. A CDMA phone is essentialy locked to the network that was pre-programmed into a phone, so you will basically have to either trade in your phone (If you paid if off) and buy a new Striaght Talk phone, or returun your Verizon phone and purcase a new one on Straight Talk

I see no reason to assume it would not.Of course, It assumes you bought it separate from your cell provider. As I understand it, American service providers often lock their devices to only support a specific carrier. If you bought it from a carrier, you’d need to unlock it first.I’m only not sure because we don’t have this service locking feature in HK,or at least as far as I’m aware.

They will require you ship the phone at your expense, keep it for weeks and weeks, then eventually send it back, if they don't lose it. Your best option is to purchase AppleCare or AppleCare+. AppleCare will simply extend your hardware and phone support to two years. Normally to call in to Apple, it is $19 for support. If you have AppleCare, it will be included in your service plan. How to transfer from one straight talk phone to another?
Log into your Straight Talk account and transfer your service to the other phone. If your new phone is not a Straight Talk phone you will have to register the SIM card to work with your new phone. You may have to purchase a new SIM card. Go to Straight Talk.com and see what you can find before you purchase another SIM card. Your phone number, service days and minutes will transfer over. I am just not sure about the SIM card. I use Net10 and all of the phones I purchase use the CDMA network. Because where I live Verizon is better than AT&T.
