Can You Back A Ps3 To A Usb

Can you transfer PS3 DLC with a USB Flash Drive?

gamesharing allow you to do it on 5 systems. so in order to get your dlc, you have to deactivate one of them.

usb wont work because the dlc will just be install into the game data, which you cannot copy.

to deactivate your ps3 account, go to account setting and there should be a option of deactivating it on one of those options.

then sign in to your new ps3 and you can now get the dlc

How many usb ports are there total on the ps3?

All backward compatible PS3's have 4 USB ports and built in memory card slots, all non-backward compatible PS3's have 2 USB ports (no USB ports on the back of the unit).

ALL PS3 controllers are wireless (bluetooth), and you can have a total of 7 controllers activated at once. There are 4 lights on the back of the controller numbered 1 through 4. This is the controller number based on the light(s) lit: #1 controller - 1, #2 controller -2, #3 controller - 3, #4 controller - 4, #5 controller -1 and 4, #6 controller - 2 and 4, #7 controller - 3 and 4.

If you need more USB ports, you can buy a USB expander ( http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-Port-USB... ) which will do just that, expand how many USB ports you have available.

If I back up an entire PS4 game file onto an external USB hard drive, can I access the game on the hard drive and play it from there?

Straight from the big honcho himself... nope.

How do I format a PS3 hard drive?

There was one forum which dealt with this problem. From: How to reformat PS3 hard drive :Pull out your hard drive from your PS3Connect the hard drive to your PCDo a FULL format, not a quick one (a quick format just formats the boot section and root directory of the hard drive, and not the data on the hard drive. We want the hard drive blanked out). Make sure to do it in FAT32 (if you can). To format the HDD you'll need to go to Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Computer Management. This has an older windows feel to it, but on the left hand side you'll see Storage, under that (you may have to click and expand it) you'll see Disk Management. Click on that, in the middle window will come up the hard drives. You should see it there (It'll likely have a series of letters, followed by numbers). You may not be able to format it into FAT32 format with it being such a large disk drive (windows doesn't like giving you any non-MS file format for large disks). But doing a NTFS format should work. There are a few programs that will allow you to format it into FAT32 if you can't with that program.Put the hard drive back in the PS3 (be ready with a USB thumbdrive with the system software on it, follow this link to learn how to set it up).Hopefully, your PS3 will boot up, and prompt you to install the software on to the hard driveTime to download all your stuff again (hoepfully you haven't purchased any movies, as you can't redownload them). Then, back to gamingHope this helped ;)

Can i download dlc on a usb drive then put it on my PS3?

The only thing you can DL to a USB drive for the PS3 is the system updates. You can not get add on content, demos, etc for the PS3 on a thumb drive directly from the PS Store. I have not tried this but your friend MAY be able to copy a demo from their HDD on to a thumb drive, to put onto your PS3. I don't think you can do this with any dlc that cost $$. Likely you would also need to have your friend's profile on your PS3, otherwise you would likely get a copyright error.

Can I connect an external hard drive (USB) to a PS3, just like a flash drive?

Yes you can connect any flash drive or USB - external hard drive to a PS3 and it will automatically detect it, just navigate to the section related to whatever you want to access from the drive or your game saves if you want to save to the drive.PS3 external media is compatible with FAT32 formatted drives ONLY. If you have NTFS it will not read the drive. Be sure to format the drive to fat32 before connecting via USB. (Note: most flashdrives come pre-formatted to FAT, however many hard drives come formatted as NTFS.)

I have an 80gb PS3. Can I play PS1 and PS2 games on it?

As I can see you have gotten many different answers some saying yes some saying no... well you can take my word from what im saying because i used to be a top contributor in this section therefore i ACTUALLY know what im talking about.

Well as you have said you have 4 usb ports from here i can instantly tell you have bought your ps3 a while back.. You either bought the motorstorm or mgs4 bundle back.

The 80gb ps3s that were sold with these two games CAN INDEED PLAY PS2 games! But not all about 80% of the games. Some games have been reported to have problems... to put it in simpler terms if your ps3 had 4 usb ports straight out of the box you can play ps2 games on it...

ps1 games will play on every single ps3 no matter how many gb and how many usb ports it had come with.

so your answer is: YES your ps3 80gb with 4 usb ports can play ps2 and ps1 games

you can also add me on playstation network:
