Should I charge my phone by computer using a USB or directly to the wall?
Most of the answers here are incorrect. Wall adapters are typically 5V @ 1 amp, while computer USB ports are typically 5V @ 0.5 amp. Since the USB provides half the current, it charges the phone at half the speed. The slower charging is better for lithium ion battery life because:The lower current reduces the temperature of the battery during charging, which will reduce electrolyte destruction. There is a very good chance. As when you plug your phone into the USB the PC terminal which you are using will be contected to the LAN and in turn to the server which will flag an external storage device connected at your work station. Normal AV protocols will scan the device..(unless the network terminals have been configured not to reconise USB external devices unless using the necessary network security protocols).. once scanned and the PC installs Drivers the terminal will reconise and display your phone on the network and anyone with Admin. Access can remote access your terminal and therefore anything plugged into the PC.

I just recently purchased a ZTE Speed 9130. When I plug it into a computer... any computer... it does not appear as a USB drive. I can only charge it. It's frustrating as hell because in my phone when I go to options, there is Charge Only, Install Driver, Media Device (MTP), and Camera (PTP). I accidentally hit the Camera option and the iPhoto stuff came up on the computer (I posted this question via a Mac). How do i get the phone to appear on the computer as a USB and transfer files from the computer to my ZTE Speed? Thanks.

I do it all the time, I will be using my phone, have it get down to like 12%, and then I'd start using it while it's on the charger. It charges up real fast and even to 100% just fine, and the battery has been draining slowly for years. Yes, I said years. It should be fine.

That would cause harm to the internal driver controllers associated with the USB portsIt would have to be a big phone , to have enough battery power to run a laptop.OTOHIt would be possible if you had a big power bank, and you could get +12V from it delivered on two wires, that would go to th e input power plug of the same size as your laptop.
