How hard is it to get into the direct Baylor University and Baylor College of Medicine program?
it is EXTRAORDINARILY difficult to get into any medical school, and baylor is considered to be quite prestigious, so the chances of getting in are slimmed down considerably. you must have as close to a 4.0 as possible, excellent mcat scores, medical research under your belt and experience in a medical setting to even apply, and you need to have something 'extra' to stand out to get in anywhere. most students who apply to med school are excellent students with a longish list of medical research to their name, and mcats around 30-35 (thats about average as far as accepted students go). approx 58% of all applicants to ALL med schools in the u.s. are rejected from every school they apply to every year, so it is one of the most competitive fields out there. now, youre talking about an expediant program where you would be basically rushed through to med school in three years. this program accepts MAYBE 1% of the applicants. there are very few programs like this in the country, so the number of applicants every year is very high; much much higher than most medical schools' number of applicants. baylor's program looks for all-around stars; you basically have to do everything right all throughout high school; a 4.0 is essentially required and your extracurriculars have to be very strong and impressive; national honors society, thespian, merit scholar, speech and debate, etc, etc (the list needs to be VERY long). no average student could ever get into an accelerated program. that said, even if you do get into a program like this, if you rush through in three years and go right to med school, you may regret it. im in med school now, but i took a year off after receiving my 2nd bachelors degree (in something other than science; science majors are a dime a dozen when speaking about med school applicants), and i couldnt be happier with that decision. my closest friend just graduated from medical school, and she rushed through undergrad in 3 years and went directly to medical school; she now regrets it deeply and wishes she had taken time off, and even questions her desire to even be a doctor anymore; and we are talking about a girl who has wanted nothing else but to be a physician her entire life. so, in short, chances of getting into the particular program youre asking about are less than 1%

From the date that it shows receipt should be 7 days till it hits your bank account. Your account should show debit memo, today the 17th, and DD should be done on the 19th. If your account does not show debit memo, they have not sent it to your bank yet..... UOP only deposits on Wed and Fridays. If you do not have by Friday, I would call your financial counselor, though I am not sure it will help....;)

University of Maine REVIEW?
Living in Maine I can tell you what I've heard, although I haven't actually gone to school there. I come from a school where the teachers are really involved and help you out a lot. Some of the kids that have gone off to UMO said it wasn't a very teacher friendly environment. I mean they were good, but they didn't go out of their way to make it easier. But as this is typical college behavior it is not surprising. Second of all, there is a bit of partying. But I don't think any more than the average, so I don't even know why I brought it up. The location is pretty nice in my opinion. It's near Bar Harbor and Acadia which are really nice places to visit. Downside - it's far from Augusta and really far from Portland, so no great places to shop. and far from the border of Maine and NH. I've heard it's a really good school. And plus they serve a wicked good breakfast (the highlight from my one visit.) And they have a nice campus.
