How can I get my cat to stop climbing on the roof?
Well, I don't really know how to stop her but it seems to me you don't have a problem if she could get down herself. If so, you could always lean something, like a board, that allows them to walk back down on their own. She probably likes it up there since the roof is warm. On the other hand, what does she climb up? Is there a way to block it off so she can't use it?

i do some occasional roof replacements, so i can tell you this (unfortunately) from experience. it's the fiberglass that's in the shingles. it sucks big time when that crap gets under your fingernails, and between your fingers. it takes a few hours to wear off. just wash your hands frequently, and DO itch, just not hard.

I was climbing on the roof at a school and after my friends got down it was apparent someone notified the police because when we rounded the corner to the parking lot we saw a police car. I was so terrified that I bolted off under a tunnel and 3 miles away. My friend tried to call me as he was caught, but i turned it off. 10 minutes later I turned on my phone and called him and got Officer Burge of the Winston Salem PD and he told me to disclose my position and to walk back, I finally got there and told him the truth and my dad came and picked me up and was mad. What can I do to settle this between me and my dad. Yes, im white and make straight a's. I just had a horrible lapse of judgement. What can i do and say to my dad?

Okay, so just a couple days again at night I could not sleep at all, I stayed up at 8:30am then went to sleep. However at 5:30am I decided to go see the sunrise because outside looked so nice and beautiful. So because I didn't have a good view I decided to just climb my roof and get to see the birds flying and singing and the sky and basically nature until the sunrise comes. This all happened at around 5:20-5:30am And, so when my aunt found out, she made a total big deal knowing I went outside at 5:30(even when it was already bright outside) and she said it's illigal and that I should never ever do it.... and if i do im grounded basically. So I totally disagree with her, I live in USA, California and i'm pretty sure it's not against the law to climb your own property house roof. And im sure it doesn't matter about your age because im certainly 15, turning 16 soon and it was really safe and I know how to climb a roof i've done it many times and my other aunt knows that. So, i've been searching for the state of california law about roofs and climbing them and could not find them. Can you please help me out, and give clear proof or perhaps a link, video.... somthing that can proof that it's not illigal. I don;t know random links like yahoo answers or other typical websites that anyone can do. I want a true .gov or.state website.

They're trespassing, because their entry onto the premises is unauthorised and their activities are clearly highly unauthorised too. Trespassing doesn't require signs because that's the general principle of law that unauthorised entry into somewhere is taken to be trespass.

Is it legal to climb buildings?
Not usually, although in some places it may be better tolerated that others. Generally most people avoid high rises or building with security guards or that have no skating signs posted. The best places to climb in my city tend to be public spaces such as bridges and underpasses which are not sensitive areas. Use common sense and do not climb in areas where it would appear that you were trespassing or could be mistaken for a burglar.
