Can You Help Me With My Computer Science Personal Statement

How do you write a computer science if statement?

In pseudo code, it would look like this:

If (NumHours < 0 or NumHours > 80) then print "The number is not valid"

How you actually do it in your specific programming language is up to you. You could also do nested If statements to check both conditions separately.

What's a content statement in a science project?

A content statement is a brief description of what your project is about. I think you might be able to include the hypothesis in your content statement. Wait for more answers and compare to see what makes the most sense.

What do you think of my personal statement draft?

Here is the prompt: Please provide a personal statement regarding how your academic achievements, personal interests, and life experiences have helped prepare you to succeed academically and be an active member of the UC community. Be sure your response addresses each of the three components. (Please limit your response to approximately 250 words).

Throughout high school, I have learned countless formulas, spent hours analyzing literature, and memorized seemingly innumerable amounts of Spanish vocabulary. However, the most important things I’ve learned is what I’m passionate about as a student, and how to strive for excellence. Academics have always come first for me, and as I matured as a student, I learned to better balance my studies and extracurricular activities. Starting in seventh grade, I joined my school’s track team, which helped me become a more focused and determined person. I wanted to excel as an athlete, and by my freshman year, I attended regional track meets, and placed in the top 10 hurdlers in my league. Although I could not continue my participation in track due to an injury, I learned a valuable lesson from the years of being on the team. I learned what it means to be a team player, how to balance schoolwork and extracurricular activities, and how rewarding hard work and determination truly is. While my track career had ended, my desire to be a hard worker had not. Because of this, I decided to start a part time job. Working 25+ hours a week along with my schoolwork can be challenging, but I view it as an opportunity to push myself to be more diligent and well-rounded. I am very fortunate that I’ve had amazing opportunities and experiences, and I am confident that becoming a UC Bearcat will help me become an active and valuable member of society.

What should I write for my personal statement for a top-tier university in the UK for a master's in computer science?

Here is a site with sample personal statements.https://www.studential.com/perso...

How important is the personal statement in applications for computer science master's programs?

It is really important. Although, some people claim that the role of personal statement is overrated, you should consider investing your time into writing a good one.I’ve read answers of some people from admission committee who claimed that a bad personal statement shows that a student has no interest in the outcome of the application, and this isn’t beneficial for him/her at all. Here’s what your statement should generally consist of (learn more from my other answer: Rebecca Morrison's answer to How can I write a good computer science personal statement?):Opening;Academic accomplishments;Research experience;Employment/Volunteer Work/Clinical Experience;Future Plans. You can check out Personal Statement Science for more information. How's this for a first draft of a personal statement?

You tell a nice, heartwarming story. It is very personal and sounds truly heartfelt.

Unfortunately, it doesn't answer the mail in terms of what they want in the essay.

You say they ask you to:

1) State your career goals and
2) briefly summarize your major educational and
3) vocational interests and
4) achievements.
5) Indicate the areas in which you expect graduate education at Boston University to have the greatest value for your future plans and goals.
6) Include academic and/or
7) practical reasons that you wish to attend our University

I numbered these items because often people gloss over a request like this and think they understand the gist of what is being asked - but they ignore the specific requests.

Take your essay - print it out - and manually write on the essay the numbers 1 through 7 on the text that directly addresses the item requested. I think you might be surprised at how much you are not directly addressing. Don't read into what you wrote and think it addresses their request. For example, you never use the word "goal." There should be a clear sentence that says "My career goal is ...." It can and should tie to your personal story. But right now, you do not directly address most of the 7 items they have requested.

I have written a statement of purpose for graduation in computer science with financial assistantship. Would anybody help me in reviewing my essay?

A2A: I could review it, but I don’t know anything about you. Your strengths, weaknesses, passions, experiences — none of it! I could review your essay on a completely subjective basis, but that wouldn’t be the most beneficial to you.I’m not sure of your background, but odds are that you’ve graduated from an undergraduate institution within the last five years. This means you could easily reach out via email to your old professors/advisors. If you’re a bit more ‘seasoned’ post-grad, you probably have friends or colleagues who have completed the application process, and are some portion of the way (if not completely) finished with their degrees. These are the people you should be asking for help, not me.—————————————————————————————Here’s how I enlisted help on my own graduate statement:(1) Write a very good essay using all available resources (see J. Lee Anthony’s links in another answer, for starters). Ensure that there are no errors and that all of critical ideas are in the paper. You don’t want to waste someone else’s time.(2) Ask your professors/industry-colleagues (preferably those writing your letters, as this will give them more to write about) to review your personal statement. Give it to them well ahead of the deadline and give them 2+ weeks to review it. Sit down with them and have them discuss a marked-up copy with you. This will be of greatest help.(3) Crowdsource for quality and readability. I actually posted “Will anyone help me with my personal statement for grad school?” on Facebook, and I received requests from people who hadn’t even attended 4-year school. I ultimately gave it to 6 people, and received good tips from a few. This is useful for two reasons: (1) if a person who doesn’t understand CS understands your personal statement (minus a few CS-specific phrases), you know it’s readable, and (2) it doesn’t take a Ph.D. to comment on quality-aspects such as “this introduction falls flat” or “I feel like I don’t know who you are after reading this”.(4) Read it again and make sure the voices are your own. This one is very important. With a number of people making edits to your drafts, you may just steal interesting phrases they use verbatim. Does your introduction sound like you wrote it? Is everything in the essay still factually accurate? If there are multiple voices in your essay, there’s a chance the reader will suspect the work is not your own (even if it is).
