Can You Recommend Any Petitions To Protect Or Preserve Wildlife

I want to open a wildlife reserve. How do I go about doing it with minimal capital?

Find investors, petition local and state government and perhaps apply for federal grants.  I'm no expert but i believe it's probably like every other business.  Find the demand and supply that demand.  In this case, determine if a wildlife reserve is needed in your area, come up with a plan to create said reserve, then get people to buy into it.  I would keep in mind however that private wildlife reserves are probably more difficult to create without local and state government backing than those created by those governments.

HOW WE CAN CONSERVE VEGETATION AND WILDLIFE.?

1. Encouraging eco-tourism. People must see a financial incentive to save natural areas - at least in high density extremely poor areas of the world where jobs and land are at a premium.

2. Recycling our natural resources. Mining is one of the main causes of deforestation along with timber removal for wood. As more people commit themselves to recylcing, use of natural resources can be reduced.

3. Funding with - or working with - organizations that actively make a difference in ecosystem and species conservation. Some examples are Conservation International, World Wildlife Fund, Nature Conservancy, Oceana, and the Ocean Conservancy. These non-profit organizations are making a difference but can only do what they have money for. Give in whatever way we can.

4. Be careful what we buy. Consider the environment when we are shopping. For example - coffee can be a tremendously destructive crop to the environment. However, when it is shade grown and organically produced, it has does minimal damage and offers higher prices for the laborers, which in turn encourages more coffee to be grown this way. Another example - don't ever buy products that contain palm oil. The spread of palm oil plantations is one of the primary reasons for the destruction of the rain forests in Indonesia and the endangerment of many animals such as the Orangutans and Sumatran Rhinos. When buying a wood product, is it recycled? If not - where is the wood from? Does it have a Forest Stewardship Council Stamp on it? If not - it may very well have been produced from rain forest wood or from a forest in a non-sustainable manner. These companies need to make money and if we're buying something - we can encourage the preservation of the planet rather than the continued destruction.

Finally, educate others and petition leaders of governments and decision makers. Many organizations have campaigns that you can join and work with. Get involved.

Conservation Project Ideas?

Physical removal of Buckthorn is the only real non-chemical control method. Wear gloves when you pull it. Larger clumps can be pulled out with a lawn tractor or larger vehicle if one can get close enough to loop chain around the base of the plant.

For your energy conservation, go to http://www.builditsolar.com and see if you can cut your energy usage in half, and maybe help others who might also be interested to do the same. You can also learn how to reglaze and weatherize windows and then teach others to do the same, and then get some volunteers together to help out some of the elderly or disabled in your area living in older homes.

Animals are very adaptive to their environment, sinking clean tree branches in an area of water where Bass are found can help their numbers some, but check with local agencies to make sure it is okay. Permits may be required. Otherwise planting trees and clearing brush makes for good habitat, clear understory from wooded areas but maintain some brush piles for animals to use for shelter or nesting areas well away from roads or paths when possible. This can be done in conjunction with your Buckthorn removal, just make sure it is not the Buckthorn that is getting piled up. This also helps reduce the chances for wildfires spreading if done on a large enough scale.

For resouroce recovery, work with your local units of governments and coordinate a recycling event in conjunction with an existing event such as household hazardous waste collection, or something similar. You could coordinate the handling and disposal of old appliances and electronics for example. You would obviously be collecting money for the appliances and electronics as they need to be disposed of correctly, wither you break them down to their component materials, or charge enough to cover your costs of handling the items while getting them routed to the correct locations for disposal.

Why do we need to crush the yogurt cups in order to protect wildlife?

These containers are notorious for getting stuck on animals heads. I have witnessed this firsthand when a skunk was outside a friends house banging it's yoplait cup covered head into her trash cans and her house. The design is horrible as it tapers into a very small opening and when animals try to eat/lick the leftover yougurt off the side it gets wedged on their heads. Many animals have died because of this and yoplait still after YEARS of boycotts, petitions, etc for the company to change their cup design refuse to! I no longer buy their yogurt because of this. The warning is also so miniscule, no one pays attention.

How do I protect animals from extinction that results from our activities?

You can support Environmental Protection causes by signing petitions and letters. Activistonthego gathers a lot of petitions and letters from reknowned activist groups and NGOs so it can be a good place to start :)

How do we save wildlife/environment?

Basically, there are petitions you can sign to spread the message to the government. When I learned margarine is one of those products made from palm oil, I ended my obsettion thinking about the orangutans. When it comes to a country I respect and at the same time pray they'll one day end the madness, I will join the protest against the dolphin slaughter in Taiji, Japan. That is, if Donald Trump wins the election.
