Can You Take Calls On The Sony Xperia Play With Normal Headphones Plugged In Or Do You Have To Take

Will my cell phone recorder pick up paranormal voices or do I need an EVP Recorder?

Yes, you can use your cell phone but I suggest you at least get a cassette tape recorder. A good digital recorder works well also. the only reason I would not use a cell phone is you may get a call during a critical time. You also want to keep your phone with you and many times investigators will leave a recorder in one place while doing other things in another room or area. If you happen to loose the recorder you have just lost a recorder but if you loose your cell phone someone could find it and run up a huge phone bill.

Here is an exxcellent article on how to record EVP that gives all the basic information on how to pick a correct recorder to the actual recording.

If you connect a headphone to your phone, does it drain the battery? How does a headphone work?

A pair of headphones is basically a set of small speakers held onto your head with a headband. Now, the battery drainage depends on the headphones you get. A generic, cheap pair of headphones will usually have a low impedance (<20 ohms). This means that they can be driven very easily by mobile devices and can get loud without draining battery. These are more available in the average consumer market because they are cheap to manufacture and people won’t complain about them being too quiet. Headphones at this tier are basically earbuds that go over your head, and will not drain your battery any faster than a pair of earbuds would.A higher quality “studio” or “audiophile” set will usually have a larger impedance (>36 ohms). These headphones require more power to drive, but will give a clearer sound and less distortion. Since it requires more power to drive, it will be pretty quiet unless you turn up the volume, and this is what drains the battery. If the impedance goes over 60 ohms, you will need to use a headphone amplifier to be able to listen to anything at a reasonable volume. An extreme example would be a PA system. You wouldn’t be powering these with your phone; they have to be connected to an external power source. The battery drainage all depends on the headphones you have. My pair of AKG 553 have an impedance of 36 ohms, and they drain my battery at a moderate level, meaning I will be from a full charge to around 40% in 5 hours. My earbuds, which have around 16 ohms impedance, can pump sound pretty loudly for a whole day and only drain my phone to around 60%. Now, if I were you, I would be more concerned about the app that you are using to listen to music or do whatever else you do with headphones. Youtube is incredibly battery-hungry. A couple videos in half an hour and I’m already at 80%. If I’m just listening to music from Spotify, I would only drop 5% in that time. Hope this helps.

What is the difference between Headphone with built-in microphone and Headphone with out it?

If an earphone has a built-in microphone then while receiving any call, you can directly use the earphone's mic which will be very close to your mouth to talk to the other person(s). The other person's voice can be either heard through the earphones or the phone speaker. If no built-in mic is present though you can pick up a call on your phone and listen to the voice on the other side through your earphones, you cannot talk through the earphone. You have to take your mouth near the phone's in-built microphone and talk through that.Built-in earphones has the advantage of coming handy when you are listening to any songs and you have to receive any calls. You can receive or reject calls using the microphone button provided and talk over it without having to reach for the cell phone once.Ofcourse the built-in microphone will cost you a little more than the standard model without mic. But for SONY EX110LPQ, the price you have to pay extra is just Rs 200/-. The one having the mic has the name MDR110AP and comes at Rs 800/- in Amazon.inI suggest you purchase the Sony Ex150 (without mic) at Rs700/- ( available in Amazon.in ) for better performance. The EX150AP (with microphone) will cost you Rs 900/- or 1000/- in Amazon.

Does the sound quality we get from smartphones depend upon the phone or the headphones?

The devices on your list being both Samsung, high-end devices, I think the audio quality would be the same on the "$10,000" headphones. But your question asks if audio quality depends on the smartphone or the headphones... and the answer is both.     I risk sounding like a broken record, but as with every audio quality question, it depends on the weakest link in the chain. Poorly designed (cheap) headphones, will definitely sound bad on any equipment - be it smartphones, or home hi-fi. Vice-versa, high end headphones with cheap, poorly designed (acoustically) smartphones will give you crappy audio, although not everyone may notice the differences. I can personally hear the difference between phones from manufacturers with good audio design/architecture like the Apple & Nokia, vs the Samsung & Nexus ones.     I have used (in the recent past), used the Nokia N95, Nokia N8, iPhone 3GS, Nokia Lumia 820, Samsung Note-3, Samsung Galaxy SIII Neo, and Nexus 7 2012. All of these were used with similar mid-range Senheisser headphones, but I could still hear differences in audio quality. The Nexus 7 (2012) tab, in particular has the worst audio quality of any modern device that I have used. Samsung S-III, Note-3 comes somewhere in between, and the Nokia N95, N8, Lumia 820 & iPhone 3GS tied for the best audio quality.

Is there any Android app to play music during a call so both the sides can hear it?

https://play.google.com/store/ap... i found this app named ( phone music ) in the store it can play music during call and the other partner can hear it.

Is it safe to use a phone while it is being charged by a portable charger? I own an HTC and was told by a mobile technician to use an HTC charger only. An HTC powerbank is not available in my city. Can I use a Sony portable charger?

It’s best that you don’t use your cellphone while it’s charging because the battery starts draining out, which triggers its heating process. At the same time, while your cell phone is getting charged in the background, it adds to the heating process and the battery becomes hot. This can have ill effects on the battery life, and if the battery is faulty or not a branded one then there is a good possibility of extreme heating issues, which may lead to battery explosion. So, it’s better if you do not use your cellphone while charging to be on the safe side. Instead, use compatible charging accessories like portable USB chargers, wall chargers, or car chargers to avoid any kind of damage.

How do you fix Sony earbuds when audio is only working in one side?

It depends what the problem is. The most common are:1. no contact inside the female connector in your device. This is easily checked by using a different heaphones that you know to work correctly. If they also lack sound when plugged into you device, then it is the female output on your device OR a software setting on the device. The first would need professional repair (possibly replacement of the main board), the second would not. But the second would depend on the operating software and what it can and cannot set.2. A physical tear (of the copper) anywhere inside the wires. Unfortunately, it is often impossible to pinpoint such a break. But if you can, you need to cut the wires at that point, then strip (burn & fine sandpaper the isolation coat away) the copper wires on both ends of the break, then twist them together again (making sure they do not touch eachother in any way, not even with one single strand). This repair is then best concluded by applying a drop of solder to each twisted wire, then taping all the naked copper (= two for mono, three for stereo) seperately with isolation tape, then tape those together (for "neatness"). Be aware that it will be the weak point of the wire though.3. If the wire is torn off the speakers, forget it. Unless you really know how to work with such small parts, it's not repairable.4. If the malfunction is in or very close to the plug, then cut off the plug with at least an inch of wire (to be sure), then strip the ends of the other wire (should be three on a regular stereo) and install a new plug - for this you need a soldering gun and solder.
