Can You Take Tylenol With Alcohol

Can I mix tylenol with alcohol?

The liver processes both alcohol and acetaminophen also called Tylenol. Processing both at the same time is very hard on the liver and has killed some people. Unless you overdose, Tylenol generally is given 4 hours in your system. The directions give an advised limit for hourly and daily consumption. Alcohol is usually given about an hour per drink. Take both facts into consideration. Whichever you consume first gets priority.

If you consume a normal amount of Tylenol at 11:30, then you should be able to consume a moderate amount of alcohol by some time after 3:30.

Be careful.

Mixing tylenol and alcohol can it kill u?

Not likely that it would have killed you right away. Consistent combination of acetometaphine or ibupropen and alcohol will damage your liver. The immediate effects would be the booze mixing with the pills and your liver or or stomach objecting strongly.
Most likely you need to evaluate your drinking and make a personal decision as to what you can and can't consume. Some people just can't drink. You do sound as though you need to be evaluated for ulcers. Remember that drinking in any amount will deteriote the stomach, liver, kidneys and other major organs.

Is it safe to drink alcohol if i take tylenol?

I can't believe all of the misinformation here. Let me please clarify:

Tylenol is the name brand for acetaminophen. This medicine is broken down, by your liver, into metabolites, which are then excreted by your body (through urination). Unfortunately, one of the steps in that process produces a toxic intermediate molecule. In normal people, the body uses glutathione to convert that toxic intermediate into a harmless one, so that it can leave your body.

People who drink heavily and regularly (i.e. alcoholics) don't have much glutathione in their body. So, the toxic metabolite builds up and causes liver damage. This won't really be a problem unless you drink 3 or more drinks every day.

For normal folks, moderate drinkers you want to use less than 4grams (4000mg) per day.

For heavy drinkers, you want to consult your doctor, but a good rule is less than 1gram (1000mg) per day.

Since you've taken 2x325mg, or 0.65 grams, you should be just fine. Just don't use it too often. You can use an NSAID, like ibuprofen, instead. And no, Tylenol will not cause GI bleeding and it is not a blood thinner.

Is It OK To Take Tylenol Before Drinking Alcohol?

So I have a headache right now, and I want to take some Tylenol. However, I will be drinking in about 3 hours. Is that dangerous to do? I know taking medications while drinking is bad, but is it the same if you take them before?

Can taking tylenol with alcohol or weed be bad?

Very much of alcohol-caused liver damage is caused not by booze alone but by mixing with acetaminophen.

Can I take tylenol cold and sinus if I drank alcohol?

Yes you can. Acetaminophen and alcohol do interact to damage the liver, but that is if you are a chronic alcoholic taking 10s of tablets of extra strength tylenol daily. With what you're using it should be perfectly fine, especially since you're not regularly doing this.

Can you drink alcohol with tylenol in your system? ?

The dose makes the poison.

I've chased Vicodin™ down with Bailey's Irish Cream many a time, and I'm still alive.

Is it safe to drink alcohol after taking Tylenol?

As a default, no.  The gamble is, if you have to ask, you might be at risk. It's VERY easy to hit a toxic load of Tylenol if you're taking ANY other medications that contain it.  Drinking just a little too much alcohol will put you over the edge, too.The trouble is, your liver gets to make the call, and livers don't always announce their "health" status clearly.  If you have HepC, you may not know it, and you will have a compromised liver.  If you have any other liver condition, you may not know it, and you will not be able to process Tylenol well. It's one thing to take Tylenol FOR a hangover, when one will presumably NOT be drinking any more.I would NOT recommend drinking AFTER Tylenol, because you will be heading into a territory of reduced memory and inbitition.  People who are drinking alcohol are notoriously bad at keeping track of how many of anything they "have had."  People who can't count / keep track of Tylenol + Alcohol are frequently called "dead."

Tylenol and alcohol, how long to wait between the two?

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is absorbed from the stomach and reaches maximal blood levels after ~2 hours and is mostly cleared from the system in about 4-6 hours.

Never, ever, ever combine Tylenol with alcohol use! Acetominophen toxicity is the #1 reason for liver transplant in the USA right now. If you take them together to get an 'extra kick' as some people suggest, you're also destroying your liver!

According to the Toxic Exposure Surveillance System in 2000, acetaminophen accounted for 5 percent of all toxic exposures, but also accounted for 23 percent of reported fatalities - Tintinalli's Emergency Medicine > Section 14: Toxicology and Pharmacology. Acetominophen is not a benign drug!

So, in answer to your question, someone like yourself who is a moderate drinker would be likely to metabolize both easily, and should separate the two by 2 hours at the very least, but preferably more (4-6 hours).

Can I take Tylenol and alcohol simultaneously?

I am not a doctor or a pharmacist. You *can* take both at the same time, however you need to know that adding Tylenol to alcohol will increase your liver’s workload, and while doing it once in a while won’t kill you, chronic use of Tylenol and alcohol can be harmful on your liver. Here’s a great article that I found by doing a simple Google search that helps to explain the how and why behind the answer to your question:Acetaminophen and alcohol: Safety and risks
