Can You Think Of Any Examples Of Blue-eyed People Dating Non-blue-eyed People

Are people with dark eyes and dark hair considered more attractive than blonde people in Nordic countries?

The beauty is subjective;I am from Iran;I don’t want to disappoint people with light eyes, but in fact, light color is considered exotic and not always more beautiful. However, it depends on the color too. Maybe, the opposite is true in nordic countries, and they appreciate people with light eyes because most people are light eyed and dark eyes are considered exotic. For example, in the older generations in Iran, if a pregnant woman stares at something that she desires, they say please take and eat it otherwise your child may get green eyes! It means that they didn’t consider green eyes better. However, today it is more fashionable because of media.Sometimes some people say some green eyed people look likes cats! For example, the eye of this beautiful lady is not considered necessarily more beautiful. However, these days they could be more fashionable. They are weird at first glance, but people who used to darker eyes may gradually lose their interests. Don’t get me wrong, I think any natural color is beautiful, I just say there is not always a privilege for a specific color by all people.A little warmer colors like hazel and dark green or dark blue, and less outstanding eyes could be considered more warm:The dark eyes specially on white skin could be warm, natural and beautiful too:Specially too black eyes is considered beautiful, and it’s not much common even in Iran. The shape of eyes, the face and many other things also play role in beauty; For the last example, consider these Persian kids with different eye color; which do you like more?Umm…. It seems we need all of this spectrum of colors.

Black people with blue eyes?

They HAD to have had a couple of European ancestors in their history, as the gene for blue eyes comes from Europe, and is a real drawback in Africa. It's usually a recessive gene, so two brown eyed parents can give birth the blue eyed kids.

Blue It would let in too much UV and damage the eye pretty quickly in strong light, and that can cause blindness by cataracts. It's a bonus in lower light areas, there's the suggestion that light eyed people see better in red light (firelight) too. It's believed to be a very recent addition to the gene pool.

Edit ,James J, those blond black people are all Aborigines or From nearby islands. They have a unique mutation for blond not seen in Africa. Also, there is Euro DNA in Africa now, from colonialism. You get blond blue eyed Africans via Albinism too sometimes.

The Nazis wanted blond-haired, blue-eyed people. I have light hazel hair and medium brown eyes. Would I survive?

Oh. My. Gott. Most of the answers here are full of Scheiße.You would have been *fine* with dark hair and eyes in Hitler’s Germany.MOST Germans didn’t fit the “blond hair and blue eyes” image. Here is a crowd scene ..Here is SS at Auschwitz ..German olympic athletes in 1936 ..Listening to the Führer ..The “Aryan Ideal” was exactly that … an IDEAL. The “Healthy Northern European” look as opposed to the “Southern / Eastern / Jewish / Slavic” image.Tall. Fit. Blonde. Blue eyes. How BIZARRE that people would think of that as some kind of physical ideal right?Take a look through a few decades of Playboy covers! How much hair bleach, high heels, and even coloured contact lenses have been sold over the years in the USA? Was everyone trying to look like Nazis? Of course not.The image of a tall blonde person with blue eyes has been prized in many different western cultures for a long time. Or at least you could say .. it was rarely a *bad* way to look. And I doubt many people who *were* tall, blonde, and blue-eyed have thought they got a bum deal in the DNA department.Sure the Nazis gave a little extra emphasis on the look in an effort to create a unique “German racial identity” (though funny .. it is hard for me to think of very many historic German personalities who were actually blonde ..), but this has been stressed way too much in the oversimplified caricature of the Third Reich that we imagine today. So .. you would have been fine. Just like all the other millions of Germans who were short and dark-complexioned.Of course if you had some Jewish relatives .. then we are getting into a different area. Or even if your darker complexion looked somehow “Jew-y” to people .. that could cause social problems and you might find yourself having to constantly prove you *aren’t* Jewish. But just failing to live up to the idea of a “perfect-looking Aryan” was not a problem in itself at all!

Why do people prefer blue eyes?

It's unclear. Since there will no doubt be some people who question the premise, I will say that there is some evidence for the claim: for example, when Wired magazine went through data from OKCupid to see what phrases were associated with successful profiles, 'blue eyes' was one of them, at least for men. See How to Create the Perfect Online Dating Profile, in 25 Infographics On the other hand, simply performing color manipulation on images of eyes does not seem to show much effect, see The Blue-Eyes Stereotype: Do Eye Color, Pupil Diameter, and Scleral Color Affect Attractiveness? There's also a paper that suggests that blue-eyed men have a preference for blue-eyed women (but not the other way around), see http://scienceblogs.com/gnxp/wp-... I would speculate, given the ethnic history of the US, that blue eyes are still somewhat associated with higher social class, in addition to being a fairly reliable sign of whiteness (which is also widely preferred in dating, according to OKCupid). Although I can't find the reference for it right now, I recall that at one point ninety percent of Fortune 500 CEOs had blue eyes, compared to fifty percent of the general population - a reflection of WASP overrepresentation. So there may be some unconscious stereotyping going on. Finally, it is worth noting that even if equal numbers of people prefer various different eye colors, rarity could still lead to one color being seemingly more prized than another. With the percentage of blue-eyed people being born in the US having dropped to below 20%, it would not be surprising if blue eyes are in some sense at a premium in the future.

Why are blue eyes considered attractive?

It the same as askign why gentlemen prefer blondes. It might be due to the fact that they are indeed harder to find. I know only about 2% of the population has truly blonde hair, and while I'm sure theres probably more people with blue eyes then there are with blonde hair I bet its realtivley close. In any case, if it was because it's rare and people tend to like what there isn't allot of, don't you think more people would find people with over bites attractive, since those are not very common either? I think instead its probably due to mainstream media telling people that blonde haired blue eyes are the attractive bunch. That if you want to be happy you must marry someone who resembles Barbie. Maybe if everyone had blue eyes and brown eyes were more rare the media would change the emphasis from blue to brown or maybe not. But I think its probably a cultural thing. Plus, blue eyes are pretty. ^^ But thats just an opinion.

Do central american girls like blue eyes?

It's a question of personal taste. It's like saying: "everyone loves tomatoes." Some do, some don't. That's an accurate answer. Central American girls are more about how humble and nice you are. If you're a foreigner, this shouldn't be a surprise. I mean really, if you go on a date and she likes you and vice-versa, then you start dating. What makes a Central American girl different than any other girl you will meet?

Blue eyes aren't exactly common in Central America. You find them in some places. I know places like Bluefields and Bilwi in Nicaragua have some folks there with blue eyes, but overall it can be rare finding them. If people have brightly colored eyes in Central America, it tends to be a combination of either hazel, amber, brown or green. Blue and gray are both very rare, but you'll still find some girls with them.

Happy searching!

Why do some, mostly young men, have blue eyes in Turkey?

because blue eye gene is evolved about 10000 years ago in a single common ancestor of those people and throughout that time, blue eyed people went on migration. although it is preasumably evolved in northern part of old world, there are still descendants of that person all around the world. just its frequency is low and because blue eye gene is recessive, that trait isnt seen much in other populations. also eye and hair genes is not related (or loosely related for some types)

also in Side there are lots of foreign residents, they bring some more blue eye genes to gene pool. with a dominant dark hair gene from other parent for example, there you celebrate diversity

let me edit more clearly: blue eyed people have no pigment in one layer of eyes' two layers. so if a child gets a blue eye gene(s) from one parent and brown eye gene(s) from other parent, child will have some pigment in his/her eyes so his/ her eyes will not be blue. however when this child grows up and marries another blue eyed person.. their child may get that blue eye gene(s) from him/her and will have blue eyes (%50) and if a dominant, dark hair pigment come along with that here you see a cool guy

edit 2: there is no difference between man and woman for genetics of eye colour. possibly you look at men more : )

edit 3 : for Alexandra I

she clearly shows how racism and nationalism damage brain and prevent clear thinking. % 90 -95 huh? blue eye ratio in population in moldova? see for yourself, here is link http://westernparadigm.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/blue_eyes_map2.jpg. also i have been moldova. and didnt see that much difference. %90-95? blond hair? blue eyes ? maybe you have memory disorder huh? maybe you went iceland? in turkey, we had a very intelligent thinker and he once said, "to have a good opinion, one must have knowledge" you have no knowledge and a distorted opinion. and you say turks are barbarian, no i wont generalize for your country, i will say it just for you... you are a loser
