Car Question. Good Or Bad Deal

ARE ALL CARS OVER 100,000 MILES A BAD DEAL? 10 points for best answer?

The previous poster is right. Condition is way more important than miles when looking at older used cars. If someone drove mostly on the highway for those 100K miles, then the car is going to have LOTS of life left in it, assuming that the car was maintained well.

Here's a tip: if the previous owner took good care of the parts that you can see, it's a good bet that he took care of the parts you can't see, too.

Is buying a used car with over 100K miles a bad deal?

The miles are average for a car that old.

But miles alone don't make the car a bad deal or a good deal. You have to look at the overall condition of the vehicle and of course the mileage would be a consideration in that evaluation.

Has the car been well maintained. Is there any repair and maintenance history available? Was this car owned by a young person or an adult? (kids tend to drive harder and maintain their cars less). Does the car still look new? Any interior or exterior defects? Has the car ever been wrecked? Is the title clean and clear of all liens?

You need to take the car to a certified mechanic that you trust for a complete mechanical inspection. What were the mechanic's comments after the inspection?

All of this needs to be considered before you can make an informed choice.

First car - Dodge Charger? Good or bad?

Im thinking of getting a '12 - '13 dodge charger for my 16th birthday, i get mixed answers though. A lot of people say is a great car, and others say its terrible. Is 19mpg city - 25mpg highway a good deal on gas?? I need a car that can carry AT LEAST 4 people comfortably, is the Charger good for that? And lastly, is it safe? Easy to drive? Ect.
If not, any suggestions on a nice 4 door car between 20-30 $ ?
Thanks!!

Is buying a car with 400k miles on it for 1 grand a bad deal ?

probably

these days 200,000 is considered to be normal life expectancy.

so 400K is a lot.

what make and model is it? if you make it to 500K you might get a reward from the maker.

but no

don't buy it unless it's been kept in mint condition buy a owner that loved it and cared for it like it would a child.

otherwise your buying a dying wreck waiting to be put out to pasture.

Is 225,000 miles on a car bad?

In agreement with most, it depends more on the maintenance. However, from experience with a 96 Taurus, RUN! and to pug205...its a slightly less accurate reflection as they have a diesel and those tend to outlast gas motors in general.

How can I ensure I’m getting the best deal on a car lease with a “fair” credit rating?

Fair credit ratings doesn’t matter in any case, because you’re finalizing term of lease before buying any car.Ex. No body walks into dealership asking to check their credit rating before buying any car.(do not inform them about your credit rating, discuss term of your lease.(price, maintenance, warranty etc…) and bargain. To check how you’re getting best deal on your car. Is to go to new car dealers / authorized dealers. All dealers post their Financing / leasing rates on their website. Regardless of your credit rating, everyone is presented with same rate. (unless you’re buying car for second time or have corporate discount). Why lease car ?Because you can bargain the lease agreement/payments and after lease ends, you can bargain again if you want to keep car. You can’t do that if you’re financing your car.
