Ceruloplasmin As Antioxidant

Is the antioxidant craze nonsense?

Eating foods rich in antioxidants is likely a good idea. If nothing else they are high in vitamins and low in stuff that's bad for you.      Some evidence suggests that tea, and even coffee in moderation may be a similarly good idea. Antioxidants may be a factor.       Dietary supplements are mostly useless. Now, if you are anemic, take iron. I f you have a vitamin deficiency that is different. However, the evidence is that antioxidant supplements do little, nothing, or may cause some harm.    So, your professor has a point. Our body does have many antioxidant genes, and makes substances like glutathione, which I did my thesis work with.    Gosh, if I wasn't ethical, I could use that to make money

Which is a well know antioxidant?

Nano-lipobelle H-EQ10: This is a form of CoQ10 which is a well know antioxidant. Antioxidants are needed by the body to fight off and repair cell damage caused by free radicals. This ingredient easily penetrates the skin through its' deepest layers.http://platinumcleanserinfo.com/...

Why is my ceruloplasmin elevated at 59?

I am afraid I can’t answer this question. I wish I could.

What does copper affect our body?

They add it as a trace mineral to breakfast cereal because everyone else does. They have no idea why they are doing it. It's a grand conspiracy, probably involving Dick Cheney in some way or other. Seriously, there are copper-containing proteins (enzymes) in the human body.

How did you manage to overcome your bipolar disorder?

I’ve noticed quite a few questions as of late that are about some aspects of nootropics or Modafinil and Armodafinil. There is a site I visit often with articles Buy Modafinil Online With Confidence - YOURLS which cover your question and many more. She has written about themes including self-improvement with Modafinil and Armodafinil, where you can buy it including reviews to help you buy the real thing and save you money, ways it interacts with other substances, and emerging uses off-label. If you want a non addictive drug which has potential for anyone studying, who is a shift worker, or who wants more from a workday, worklife balance, or gym session, have a look now :)I love how miss moda writes in an easy to understand way, minus the buzzwords.

What are natural, holistic or alternative ways to treat bipolar disorder?

The most commonly accepted (even by prescribing psychiatrists)  non-pharmaceutical add-on treatment for bipolar is fish oil. It's basically good for the brain. I would never recommend taking fish oil instead of your prescription medications, but in addition to, is a good thing. Fish oils contain the omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). In the US the doc recommended a prescription fish oil called Lovaza (3 pills a day) which has a higher level of EPA in relation to DHA. In Australia the doc prefers a fish oil that has a higher level of DHA in relation to EPA. Am not sure which is better, but suffice to say that taking fish oil is good - no matter which combination of EPA and DHA you end up with.

How do radicals cause cells to age? How and why are they important for our metabolism?

They don’t. The free radical theory of aging is archaic, and has been replaced by contemporary theories that take into account the expanded knowledge of biology that has been accumulated in the 40–50 years since the theory was originally formulated.Take for example, the fact that aerobic exercise produces a large amount of free radicals, and causes a huge amount of oxidative stress on our bodies. One would think that this would be harmful, and would shorten lifespan? Not in the slightest. Exercise is no doubt an important part of a healthy lifestyle, and does not contribute to aging. If free radicals simply caused aging, it would also follow that consuming large amounts of antioxidants would extent life, right? Wrong. Although in some simple animal models, antioxidant administration sometimes produces life extension, in humans it does not. The opposite might actually occur.Free radicals are byproduct of metabolism and are normally handled by innate mechanisms, such as ceruloplasmin or superoxide dismutase. However, if biomolecules are damaged, various repair mechanisms are in place that perform repairs well. The cause or mechanism of aging is unknown. Various theories and frameworks to explain aging have been proposed, however the topic is complex. Taking theories at face value, such as the mTOR/hyperactive growth pathways theory, has led to many health fads that are detrimental. Mega doses of vitamin C, or intermittent fasting are demonstrably unhelpful, and very likely to produce adverse effects.
