Cheapest Way To Get Someone From Nyc To Scotland

The Bronx, NYC vs Glasgow, Scotland?

This isn't one of those "which place is tougher" questions but bear with me :P

Which place is better to live, in your opinion? If so why? I have grown up in the East End of Glasgow and have seen some crazy stuff. I also know the difference between the reality and the stereotypes here in Glasgow but have only heard small amounts about the Bronx in New York.

An opportunity may arise for me to move over there for a job and that would mean moving my younger siblings that I care for over there too. How hard is it for a kid growing up there? We grew up below the poverty line here in an area that's considered 'rough' or 'notorious' But honestly, where would you say was worst? A couple of the older ones (15-17) are starting to get mixed up in stuff that I'd rather they didn't here, I don't want to move them to a place that could potentially be worse :(

So, what do you think? Are the streets in the Bronx as mean as the streets in Glasgow? Also, can you tell my why you think that, like if you have lived in either place?

Thanks

What is the quickest, cheapest way to get from Scotland to Wales without a car?

You should have a look of “rail and sail” tickets which is offered by ScotRail and partners. It is a packages trio allowing you to travel to the pier and to Ireland for a very low price, especially when you have a Railcard.Essentially, you will get a train from Scotland to Wales and you are supposed to get a ferry ride to Dublin too. However, nothing will stop you from leaving the train station and skip the boat. No one would care as you have paid already and no showing means less cost for them. I however did the whole journey and it was just £40 and completed overnight.I highly recommend you to try it out.

What is the quickest, cheapest way to get from Scotland to England without a car?

How far in England? You could just take a few steps over Scottish border at say Gretna, for example and find yourself in the county of Cumbria with the nearest city being Carlisle. I’m afraid your question is rather vague. Whereabouts in Scotland are you starting your journey, and whereabouts in England are you going?By the way: you’re not the same person who keeps asking these questions are you?Which is the quickest, cheapest way to get from Vancouver to Calgary without a car? What is the quickest, cheapest way to get from Ireland to Wales without a car? What is the cheapest, quickest way to get from Southampton to Nottingham without a car? What is the quickest, cheapest way to get from Aberdeen to Edinburgh without a car?Which is the quickest, cheapest way to get from Vancouver to Ottawa without a car?Which is the quickest, cheapest way to get from Alaska to Connecicut without a car? What is the cheapest, quickest way to get from Southampton to Leicester without a car?Which is the quickest, cheapest way to get from New York to Melbourne without a car? What is the quickest, cheapest way to get from Alaska to Minnesota without a car?Which is the quickest, cheapest way to get from Lisbon to Adelaide without a car?

What is the best/cheapest way to rent/lease a car for 3-6 months in the USA?

If you don’t really care about what type of car you’re driving, there are some fairly reliable ones that you can get for only $500. Try getting a “beater,” as they’re commonly referred to, that is still semi reliable, like an old Honda or Toyota, this way you know that it has a good chance of lasting the entirety of the 6 months you need it to work for. Try websites like EBay Cars, Craigslist, and other used car/item website platforms. I think this would just be available in NY, but I was doing a used car search not very long ago, and I saw a lot of cars that would fit into your price range on a website called ‘Bonic Yardsales.’I wouldn’t try Hertz or Enterprise, because this would likely add up very quickly. There is also a well known company called ‘ZipCar,’ here in NYC. It costs 7 dollars a month for a membership, which includes a car entry card, insurance, and free gasoline fill ups. You simply use your ZipCar app to locate a vehicle that is nearby you, use your supplied card to get into the vehicle and access the keys, and then drop the vehicle in nearly any location that has a suitable parking spot when finished; that’s all there is to it. You can signup, and speak to the company customer service reps, to get an idea of what the rates would be like; they will vary for everyone based on driving history, age, location, and other variables. I have never actually used this service myself, but I’m sure it can add up very quickly if you’re planning to use the car pretty frequently. Those would be the best two options in my opinion, as I don’t know what your planned usage frequency of the car would be. The first option is what would be best for frequent use, and the latter for very infrequent use obviously.

How far are Scotland and Ireland from London?

.You'll be very welcome and Scotland is very popular with our American visitors. It would be a shame to fly from London to Scotland and miss seeing so much of the country on the way. You can travel by train from London Euston (the west coast route) to
Glasgow or Edinburgh - operator Virgin Trains, or London Kings Cross (the east coast route) to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Edinburgh. There is a network of railway lines within Scotland operated by Scotrail which includes some famous scenic lines such as those to Kyle of Lockalsh and Mallaig. Edinburgh is just over 400 miles from London and the fastest trains (from London Kings Cross) complete the journey in just over 4 hours. However the westcoast route from
Euston is more picturesque passing through the famous Lake District. Once in Scotland Edinburgh and the Highlands are the obvious places to visit plus possibly the Cairngorns National Park and the astonishing Isle of Skye.

(Of course the train is just as inexpensive as the low cost airlines if you do just as you'd do to get low air fares, buy your train tickets well in advance; Britrail passes are excellent value too)

What is the quickest, cheapest way to get from Glasgow to Edinburgh without a car?

Bus. About an hour and a quarter. Under a tenner.Buses from Glasgow to Edinburgh: From £3.85

Looking to move to Scotland? Got some reservations.?

I very much doubt you'll have any particular race-related problems in Glasgow or Edinburgh. Both are very cosmopolitan and have people from all over the world. Glasgow and Edinburgh unis have excellent reputations and have students from all over the UK and the rest of the world. The other universities (e.g. Strathclyde and Heriot-Watt) also have good reputations and students from all over.

Also, support for the BNP is massively lower in Scotland than it is in England. I am not an SNP supporter (far from it) but they are actually an extremely inclusive party and in no way a racist or xenophobic outfit. They have absolutely nothing in common with the BNP.

The idea that Glaswegians are rough and Edinburghers are snobs are just silly stereotypes, like saying all Cockneys are spivs or all Liverpudlians are thieves. People in Glasgow and Edinburgh are just like people anywhere - some nice, some not, some good, some bad.

Glasgow is a fair bit bigger than Edinburgh and has much more in the way of shopping, bars and restaurants, but Edinburgh is prettier, more touristy and has more historical attractions.

It sounds like either Glasgow or Edinburgh would meet your requirements. It you want to live somewhere quieter you could choose Stirling which has a beautiful countryside campus with its own lochs and hills, but is only 30 mins or so from Glasgow and Edinburgh city centres by train.

Ignore guiri, above, he is rabidly anti-Glasgow for some reason and seems to spend half his life on here slagging it off. Even though here clearly doesn't live here and knows nothing about it.

What's the cheapest way from Chicago to New York City?

I have travelled between Chicago and New York a few times as a student. In my experience the cheapest mode of transportation between them is catching a flight. There are many domestic airlines between ORD and LGA. The best rates I have got are $47 via Spirit airlines and $39 via American Airlines (one-way). You can find tickets in this range during weekdays when there is no high demand. And it takes only 2.5 - 3 hours, which is very less compared to road transportation. You can keep track of the prices through google flights or studentuniverse.
