Civil Engineering Salary In Philippines

I need help, Industrial vs Civil Engineering?

Industrial Engineer is low level? It is quite the opposite.

First of all, I am an Industrial Engineer. My first job offer out of college was as a Civil Engineer working as a consultant for the state in highway design and construction. My 2nd job offer was as a Mechanical engineer working in HVAC design and Facility Construction. I took the ME job over the CE job. Both offered me $50,000. After 3 months, I got $52,000. And then I got offered a new job as a warehouse manager and industrial engineer 1 year after graduating, for $65,000 salary. Now they are training me to be the safety manager while concurrently doing process and manufacturing engineering work.

Industrial and Mechanical Engineering are two sides of the same coin. Same job opportunities, similar salaries, similar classes.

Civil and Mechanical and Industrial Engineers take the same classes for the first 2 years with 1-3 classes shared in Junior and/or Senior year.

Industrial Engineers end up being engineering managers, or manufacturing/quality/safety/operations/... managers. They become the bosses of other engineers and technical staff.

Industrial Engineers typically work as Industrial or Manufacturing or Production or Process Engineers for 5 years on average before becoming an engineering manager. It takes a Mechanical Engineer 3-5 years longer to get the same promotion.

Lastly, Industrial Engineering is like Mechanical Engineering in that it is one of the broadest engineering majors, if not the broadest. You can work in any industry under 50+ different job titles and work as other types of engineers.

Do better research. Look up ehow.com and search info about Industrial Engineering.

It is the 2nd most popular engineering major in the U.S.

What is the best salary in Philippines for a non experienced Indian Civil Engineer?

Very difficult to answer as it purely depends on the field in which the job is offered....office / site / consultancy / contractor / etc.,

What is the highest paid job in civil engineering?

The above chart is the result of my research. This chart shows that there are very-very few highly paid civil engineering positions in the world. All the buildings in the world except 1–2 require less of brain and more of muscular power for construction of building. The highest paid job in civil engineering belong to the researchers in Civil engineering, who use their exploratory skills to invent newer ways to apply the civil engineering concepts to make better quality buildings. With experience, the salary of all the skilled workers in all the engineering branches increase, subject to the condition that not many people are able to do the work for which the civil engineer is appointed !

Civil engineering or commercial pilot better? Pros and Cons?

Part One:

1. Getting an engineering job is much easier than getting a professional piloting job.

2. The salary for an entry-level engineering position will be in the $30k range or better. Much higher than a pilot's earnings. If you are at all concerned about the money you will make, then go with engineering, not with piloting.

Part Two:

1. Getting a job is difficult, and getting harder all the time.

2. When you graduate from a civilian aviation school with a Commercial Certificate, multi-engine, instrument, and CFI. you will struggle along at $15k for five years or more. Again, if money is an issue, go with engineering.

3. Take some time off from all this and get to know some girls. If you are up tight about whether you can attract a girl, you will die wondering why they never liked you. Get out some!

4. You'll spend your whole career working on that one. What do you think those guys are talking about up there at 35,000 feet? There are all sorts of ideas floating around, some good, some less so. But right now is the time to worry about right now. You can retire later.

Have a nice career in engineering!

Who earns more ? A Civil Engineer or An Accountant or a Mechanical Engineer ? I am a student?

I would say between a mechanical and a civil engineer, take the mechanical. The pay range it larger; however, both start off almost the same. You'll want to have a masters for both if you want advancement.

Accountants get paid good money, but it depends on who you work for (business, state, etc.). Plus you'll need a CPA to be a licensed accountant. I would say that engineers make more than accountants.

So I would take mechanical engineering put its up to you what you like. Try not to go for money; if you don't like your job, you'll be miserable and rich (ironic?). Also, watch your GPA.

I have a friend thats going for chemical engineering and that has a higher pay range than the three jobs listed (depending where you work).

For civil engineering, is it better to have a government job or a private job?

I have only a Bachelor's degree, that too from a 2nd tier private university in South India. I now work for a private sector EPC giant. So I can tell you for sure that as exciting as it sounds, working for a private company will have its own down-sides. The most important of them being heavy pressure, uncomfortable work hours and more often than not, a posting in a far off area. Your chances of growth will depend on what kind of a company you are working for.If it is something like L&T or SPCL, which are majorly into the construction phase, you might end up working on site and minding execution work. And frankly, very little engineering is applied at the site. It is more or less a job for your managing skills and common sense at large. Another heads-up: if you hold a bachelors degree, it is not exactly enough to get you into a design-based job. Most companies prefer Post-Graduates. However, if you manage to find work in a consultancy firm, you will have an office based job and little exposure to the kind of issues faced during execution. So, even if you do enter the private sector, be sure of what you want to do and get into a suitable company accordingly. But then again, you could always make the best use of situations and mold yourself. Really depends on how you want to look at it.I answered a similar question elsewhere. Give it a read if you may :)Teja Jupudi's answer to Is it really bad that you can't crack a gov't job and work in the private sector?
