How tall Should a eighth grade basketball player be?

theres no standard. everybody is different some are short some are tall some are heavy some are light. depends on your parents' genes. i mean yao and shaq were over 6 ft in middle school. then there are guys like earl boykins and mugsy bogues who are shorter than the average male. so everyone is different and you dont have to worry about your height because you cant control it.

How can I get my grade up to stay on the basketball team? I am in 8th grade and my two grades that I need help with is math 67% and ELA 61%. How can I get it up in 4 days?

You probably can’t in four days (unless there’s a big test coming up), but it can help you put education in perspective for the future.Ask people for help - your teacher, your parents, your friends - basically, anyone who might be inclined to help you.You can also be proactive. I tutor math, and Khan Academy is a reasonably good online math resource to help you learn if you happen to have a bad teacher somewhere along the way. Find the videos on your class topics, watch them, and then do the exercises - the exercises are the most important part, and what makes the website stand out.A website like WolfRamAlpha can help with step-by-step solutions, but make sure you’re studying the steps and not just mindlessly copying answers or it will hurt you on your tests (it’s also very picky about how you enter the question, and will give you a lot of extra information you might not be looking for).Wolfram|Alpha: Making the world’s knowledge computable

What position should i play for 9th grade basketball team?

That's really not something we can speculate online, especially since you didn't list your strengths of your game. Don't worry, that's why you have a coach. His job is to watch you play and to mold you into where you will fit.. so in other words just play your game and as long as you have a decent coach, you will be put where you will be the most effective.

I need a motivational speech for my 6th grade basketball team, any ideas?

Ahem, I will assume this is boys:

"Hey Guys, its not about winning. Its not about victory, its not about defeating someone else. We we take the court, we are not out there just to win, we arent out there just to score. We take that court, we go out there to do what we do. We play smart basketball. We play fierce defense. We play team offense, We DO WHAT WE DO! We do everything we have practiced we do everything we have taught, what we have learn we step on that court to showcase to EVERYONE who we are, what we are, and how we exert our will. We Do What we do and when we do what we do, at the end, after 40 min of basketball (I think those games are 10min quaters) After we infront of our family our friend, each other Do what Do, on the scoreboard is the same result. We dont have to play to win, We just have to play our game, our way, and do all the things that make the INSERT TEAM HERE the INSERT TEAM MASCOTs. Thats all we will try to do, its not about the otehr team, its not about the referees its about us being us and Doing Us. Now, stand up walk out to half court, and start being who we are, and what we are and we will get the result we desire. Just Do WHAT WE DO. Dont worry about anything else, think about us, the team and how WE PLAY BASKETBALL. We we play our game, we dont have to worry about the outcome, let them worry about the end, we just have to do us. Do what we do boys, lets just do what we do,.

What is the best Online Basketball training program?

Great question, most importantly, you need to start working out consistently, now! Don’t get caught in information overload and indecision...and do nothing! You need to make a decision and go with it. I have not used any of those trainings but I can give you a general feel for all.  They will help you become a better player if you put in the time and effort.Realize that succeeding in basketball is not about the drill, you need the skill.  And how do you get skills in basketball?  Answer: REPETITIONAny skill you want, you can acquire.  You just need the mental toughness and discipline to practice it until you master it.There are some skills you need more than others.  I will give you three right now...you need to practice and master these:Catch & Shoot - have a partner pass you the ball or spin the ball to yourself, catch and shoot quickly with the correct form, from different areas on the floorDrive & Finish - start in triple-threat position or with the dribble, make a move, explode out of your move and drive, then finish at the basket with some of your favorite finishing moves.One-Dribble Pull-up Jumpers - start in triple-threat or with the dribble, make a move, take one rhythm dribble, and quickly pull-up for the jump-shot on balance.Make sure you do different areas of the floor for each category. 10 repetitions for each set in those different areas. For the complete proven workout program I used to earn a Division 1 college basketball scholarship you can click here - The Rapid Skill SystemAlso, focus on the day to day process.  A big mistake players make is they don’t take small steps towards their goals.  Pick smaller goals you can achieve quicker. For example- starter, all conference, all-area, all-state, D-1 scholarship, etc.  When you focus on the big goal only (play in the NBA), you will have no reference to judge where you are in the whole process and you’ll get lost in the mix.  There are no guarantees to playing in the NBA. The road to the NBA is a marathon not a sprint, with a lot of mountains and valleys.  I’m sure you’ve heard coaches say something like, “we’re going to take it one game at a time.”  It sounds cheesy, but it is important.  Focus on “one workout at a time” and eventually you will end up on top of the mountain.Coach LukeTripleDoubleTraining.com

How do I impress coaches at basketball tryouts?

If you think you have a chance, and are capable of making the A team, then all you have to do is give all that you got. Give 110% on every drill, and in every practice. And most importantly, do everything they are instructing you to do on the court and in practices... you need to show them that you can listen and comprehend what they tell you.

Some of your friends may be standing around joking, and not paying attention, but don't let them affect you. If you really want to make the team, then you need to strive for it. Show them you deserve that spot.

Unfortunately, politics has crept into high school sports and sometimes they will favor certain players over others regardless of their play and based on who they are, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. Give it everything you've got ad show them that they NEED you! ;)

Should I quit my high school basketball team?

I have been playing basketball ever since the 5th grade. I played on travel teams and always quite liked it. Up until the 8th grade everything was still competitive, but joyful. My freshman year in high school I made the Varsity team. Ever since then I have started hating the sport. Tough practices. Mandatory meetings. The coach is a complete a**hole too. I understand most coaches are tough but my coach is insanely mean. He expects everyone to train like we are going D1. It s my sophomore year currently in the fall and my coach is already doing mandatory weight workouts. Throughout the summer, we also had mandatory workouts three days a week as well as two games throughout the week. after last season he started doing mandatory weight workouts three days a week. It s like there is no offseason we are always playing.

My mom said she s okay with me not playing as long as I play baseball which I wouldn t mind. It s just I m honestly scared to not play. I don t know what I should do please give me some advice :/
