College Electronics Prep Help

Is College Prep Math hard?

I'm a senior right now,and I need to take this class.Problem is,i am really really weak when it comes to math.I did best in geometry,it was easier for me, but barely passed algebra I and II.I have no idea what to expect in College Prep Math so I'm very nervous right now. What do you exactly study in there? It would be really great if someone could share from their own experience. Thank you very much!

College Preparatory Electives?

College Prep electives usually mean languages, music, or arts, not fluffy fun things like Ceramics or PE.

There's all sorts of different designations - college prep, honors, Advanced Placement, and so on. They basically mean the same thing, but the difference is in the way they are managed and the potential impact on your college education.

Any class can "prepare" you for college if it is created with the assumption that you will attend college; even a basic algebra class could be considered "college prep" in that sense.
If it is accelerated or more rigorous than the regular classes offered at the school, then it might be labeled an "honors" class. So it is prepping you for college at an accelerated level.
If it meets specific criteria set by the College Board, then it could be an AP class, and earn you a certain set of credits. This is usually as rigorous as a college course - instead of just preparing you, it's giving you a slice of the real thing.

A talk with your dean or counselor will give you the best answer about the designation of a specific class you're looking at.

Does AVID count as a college prep elective for the UC application?

I took AVID my freshman year and I'm not sure where to put it in my UC application. I only have a limited amount of class types to list it under. It's definitely not math, history, english, or science. The logical choice would be College Prep Elective, but I'm not entirely sure if that's right. Should I list AVID under that or should I not put AVID down at all? Can any AVID students help me out on this?

How do i prepare for the first day of college?

I am about to start at El Paso Community College, and i have absolutely no idea what to expect on my first day or what to take, or anything having to do with college. I am excited but also terrified. Please tell me what i should expect, or take, or how to be prepared. Any suggestions would be extremly helpfull. Thanks in advance :)

AP Chemistry and no physics or AP Physics (do colleges want physics)?

I'm currently a Junior choosing my courses for Senior year. So far, I'm probably taking:
-AP Calc AB
-AP English Lit
-Music Theory and Electronic Orchestration (each half year)
-Music History (or maybe AP Psych or another SS elective, but I'd be giving up a credit sequence in Music)
-the half year Health requirement for graduation
- Phys Ed and Religion
-either AP Chem or AP Physics

I'm currently in Honors chemistry. I've taken Advanced Physical Science honors (which is a half year of chem and a half year of physics, which counts for nothing and is a prep course for our science ap track, which i ended up not going into) freshman year, and Bio honors sophomore year. I like chemistry a LOT more than physics, so naturally want to take AP Chem, though I have no problem with physics and will take it if I have to.

I was going to take AP Chem and honors physics, just to fit physics in somehow, but because of the music courses I can't. If I did so, I'd have to take a different SS course (losing the music sequence), drop the Music Theory all-together, and have 3 lab reports to do per 7 day cycle, which does not sound particularly fun.

Would I be hurting myself by not having more than a half year of physics freshman year (not taking the NY State regents or anything)? Do colleges look for physics, or will two years of chem suffice? The AP physics in my school is trig based, not calc based, if that factors into my decision at all.

BTW, I possibly want to double major in English and Chem or Bio/Biochem, minoring in music, probably being premed. Nothing in engineering or anything that blatantly requires physics.

Thanks

Where can I find free AP US History released exams (electronic file)?

I would really like to take a released AP US History exam, any year. I have taken all the prep book ones, but I have a feeling that they are not as hard for the real thing. If anyone has a copy that can be emailed to me with the answers I would be so happy. I will message your yahoo answers account if you are willing to help me. thank you!

College Prep Math or Pre calculus my Jr. Year?

Next year is going to be my Jr. year and were doing scheduling this week.
I just dont know what Math to take. I can either take Pre Calculus or College Prep Math.
All of my Jr. & Sr. friends told me not to take Pre Calculus. They said its to hard that they had A's and B's in Algebra 2 and got to Pre Cal and are getting D's and C's.
Me im HORRIBLE at math. The only reason im passing Algebra 2 is because of the kid behind me lol. So i know if i take Pre Cal it will be TOO MUCH for me.

Do you think i should take College Prep Math? People are saying that its easier than Pre Cal... And what is College Prep Math, like what do you learn in it.

High School Courses Considered College Prep?

yes, if you're not in honors/advanced classes or low-level classes, then it is considered college prep.

I guess you could put that for P.E. too, but it probably wouldn't matter for classes that aren't the main ones.
