If I buy an album from iTunes, what specifically do I now own?
You specifically own the right to keep files, and only the right to keep the files. Copying them and sending the new files to a friend is technically illegal, and just because you paid for it, does not give you the right to use it however you wish. It is very similar to you buying a DVD, where you can watch it, you can lend it to a friend, but if you copy it, then you face legal problems. In the context of what we are speaking about, the only difference between a DVD and an iTunes album is that you can easily copy the album, and not the DVD.Also, if you want an actual license to legally use the music on a YouTube video or in a movie, then you would have to contact the record company or the artist, depending on who owns the rights to the music, to purchase one.

What's the reason for iTunes removing artists and albums or only presenting partial albums?
When you say removing artists and albums do you mean removing them from their service? If that’s the case then it is do to some contractual problems. Artists and record labels reserve the right to pull their music from any digital storefront or streaming service as they see fit. When they do this the service has no choice but to remove or restrict access for said artists. That’s why on Spotify, if you save an album, six months later that album is “greyed-out” showing that you can’t play those tracks. The licensing agreement expired so those songs are no longer available. The same thing happens with movies on iTunes and Vudu. You can buy say Avenger infinity War right now but in a year, when Disney launches their own service, Disney pulls their licenses and you “lose” your purchase. iTunes and Vudu are not permitted to carry that movie anymore and since you can’t save it to physical media you lose your digital copy. That’s the darkside of the digital world where customers have no real rights. This has actually soured me on digital services ’cause I lost about a half dozen movies on Vudu because of this type of crap. My suggestion is to install Plex on your computers, get your hands on physical media somehow and “add” it to Plex.
I'm looking for which album the song "i can do bad" by mary j. blige is on?
I heard this song from a video and it was featured on the movie, "i can do bad all by myself" and performed by Mary J. Blige. There is no soundtrack for this movie and I looked on the track list for her new album, "Stronger" and the song is not listed there. I can't buy it on itunes either. Help! I love this song, I just want to know where I can buy it! I don't care if it is online or in the store, I just have to have this song. Or do I not have the title of the song correct? I hope someone knows out there. Thanks!
