Computer Crashed When Playing Games

Computer crashes, checkered monitor, and gives me a blue screen while playing computer games.?

So these are the computer stats:
Component Details Subscore Base score
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 2.66GHz 7.2 5.9
Determined by lowest subscore

Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB 7.2
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 7.5
Gaming graphics 4095 MB Total available graphics memory 7.5
Primary hard disk 841GB Free (932GB Total) 5.9
Windows 7 Ultimate

I am puzzled. Playing league of legends is fine (doesn't need a video graphics card to play it)
However, all the other games like call of duty modern warfare or team fortress 2, crashes at one point. My friend keeps saying it isn't the temperature so I've concluded it's either the video graphics card or "over-clocking". I am not a hardware tech-savvy person so I am lost. :c Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Computer crashes while playing games not due to overheating?

Ram issues very rarely deduct from your total amount, they just won't pass memtest. Make sure you're letting it run through twice.

Also possible is that your power supply is barely able to handle the load on it. If it doesn't bluescreen and just shuts down then that's likely what it is. You'll probably notice that you're a lot more likely to crash when looking at bright and graphic-intensive things like water in directx10+ games and sun beams.

You could try unhooking unnecessary pieces to ease up the strain on the power supply, but really the video card is using most than half of the system power on its own so small pieces like sound cards aren't likely to help when removed.

If you've got anything overclocked then take it back to default as its taxing on the power supply when it's near its maximum. I assume since you've got that fancy cooling system that you are overclocking.

Try running a CPU stress-test such as Prime95. If it doesn't crash to that after an hour then it's likely a faulty video card or power supply. Generally when video cards fail they produce "artifacts" on the screen like little colorful lines before they crash. If you don't see those then it's time for an upgrade of your PS. probably up the wattage by at least 50, 100 would be better for efficiency since power supplies run best at around 80% their maximum capacity heat and energy-savings wise.

Computer crashes while playing games?

As you have said that this issue had started after downloading a game; then firstly remove that particular game along with its entire extension files. Secondly, clean registry and computer memory to remove any kind of leftovers. Thirdly get some efficient antivirus application like the ones given below:-

Immunet Antivirus

Clamwin

Bitdefender

Norton 360

Trend Micro

Panda Cloud Antivirus

Comodo

Now, perform a full scan of the system. This will fix the issue.

Why does a computer crash when I play video games?

Generally if your computer crashes or for example you get the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), it generally means you have a hardware problem between your computer and the game. This could be something simple such as a driver issue, or it could be much worse, such as a failing graphics card or lack of memory(RAM) to run the game. Good Luck and have fun gaming!

[Resolved] Why does my computer crash every time I play a game for more than 5 minutes?

Two likely situations come to mind: One likely answer is that you have an issue with heat. A GPU at idle doesn't produce a great deal of heat, and GPUs run very close to idle doing normal computing tasks (email, web browsing, playing videos.)  When you start to play a game, you put more load on your GPU and it produces more heat. Heat leads to instability and crashes. Check your system for airflow issues, make sure the fans on your GPU are spinning, clear any dust with canned air.  If it isn't heat, the next likely cause that springs to mind is electrical. If you are putting more load on your GPU than your Power Supply can provide in a stable way, it can become a cause of system instability. Make sure your PSU is rated for the load your GPU are putting on the system.  Finally, the stock answer: Double check that you're using the most up to date drivers for your GPU. You'd be amazed what a driver update can resolve.  If none of those things work, let me know and I'm happy to probe further.

Game freezes and crashes when playing PC!!!!?

When I play games like Titanfall beta, the game freezes and then crashes. It says: Titanfall.exe has stopped working. This can happen between every 10 minutes - 2 hours.

My specs:
Intel i5 2500K
8GB RAM
Nvidia GTX 660ti 2GB
750w PSU (not modular).

I have a standard basic cpu fan and 1 case fan at the rear. My computer is covered from 3 sides because it is inside a cupboard.

My game crashed when the GPU was at temperature at 68 degrees celcius. I know that is NOT hot so why is it crashes. My drivers are up to date. Do I need new fans? is 68 degrees too much when gaming?

This happens in other games too like Far Cry 3, Saints Row 4, Battlefield 3. I play all these games at max settings!

Thanks

My computer keeps crashing while playing a specific game. My computer's event viewer says "windows critical error: kernel power event 41: task 63". Is it the game causing this critical error, or is something wrong with my PC?

My computer keeps crashing while playing a specific game. My computer's event viewer says "windows critical error: kernel power event 41: task 63". Is it the game causing this critical error, or is something wrong with my PC?I did a quick search on this particular error, and it usually involves a forced shutdown of the system. Most of the diagnostics online show this also to be an unspecified error, so if you need to find out the specifics, you need to check the error log, just before the one that states the kernel power event. One item that did come up was a system that had been over clocked by about 1/6th. The system was running at 4 gig, and the user continued to have this error whenever his CPU temp reached 80 degrees. On suggestion of the Windows error analyst, he reduced the clock speed to 3.5, which seemed to take care of the issue. So, from without actually having any error output, I can firmly state that overtemp of the CPU might be a factor. However, my first instinct was a conflict between some driver and a resource or memory call by the game. It would be best to know if the error occurred during a specific part of the game (say, when a cut scene starts, or if a particular weapon is used, or even during a certain level), or if it’s random.Another question to ask is if this game is the only one you play at the moment, ignoring things that don’t put a strain on the GPU or particular resources.Unspecified errors don’t really give you much to go on, but you need to check the error log before asking these questions. Providing that as details, along with any other factors (including the game itself, so anyone reporting this issue can be searched for) is essential to diagnosing any problems.

All online multiplayer games crash on my computer, what should I do?

You would have to find out what the crash report itself says. Contact the developer and they can tell you where to find the crash report. It could literally be anything on your computer.Your hardware may not like whatever game it is, your networking software may conflict with the game’s executable. To solve it, you need specific details of what’s going wrong and ask the people that made the game(s).If you can tell us what games and precisely what’s going wrong and when, you might get more help.

My computer keeps crashing when i play Vindictus or Archeage but not with any other game ?

I have this problem for about 3 months now. when ever i play vindictus or archeage the same thing happens my computer freezes then gets the blue screen and restarts. i play alot of other games with high graphics like (World of tanks, Smite, Ghost recon, Hawken, APB Reloaded, Metro: last light and Tera) but my computer never crashed with these games. so i have tried many things to fix it (Updated my graphic card, got new windows for three times, got an anti virus (Norton) and re-installed the game over 10 times and i cleaned my computer from the inside with air compressor. I even got new hard drive

RAM: 8GB
Video card: GeForce GTX 650Ti Boost (Nvidia)
CPU: AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-Core Processor 3.60GHz
Windows 7 Ultimate

plz help

Why does my computer keep crashing certain games?

Since you seem to have eliminated any possible software issues, you’re going to have to start looking at hardware. How dusty is the inside of the case? Try blowing out the CPU, GPU and case fans with compressed air, as trapped dust can cause them to overheat. While you’re doing that, check for any swollen capacitors on the motherboard, since these could cause the computer to crash (this would mean you need a new motherboard).A failing power supply could also cause intermittent crashes. Try using a PSU from another desktop PC and see if the crashes continue.
