Computer Malware Help

Is there malware in my computer?

That particular link will open a screamer picture, which might frighten most people who click on the link. She is trying to prank friends, I got pranked by the Anne picture before and trust me, I don't want it to happen again! As the commenter said, it may or may not contain a Flash Malware.

When you visit akk.li, you get some cat picture. I don't know where the Anne.jpg picture is from.

Just try not visiting that site and if you want to, block it on your router's firewall.com

Computer Malware Problems?

as a rule, most 'bad' things will be in your system32 folder. although some will reside in the windows folder, and even the 'drivers' folder inside the system32 folder.

do yourself a favor and go get malwarebytes little tool. run it, then do an online virus scan.
malwarebytes.org for the malware cleaner, and www.bitdefender.com/scan8 to do an online virus scan.

ok - so you have a 'realtime' virus scanner, right? well, hate to have to say it, but the realtime/fulltime/installed anti-virus crap is rendered useless by a few of the new 'bugs'. so do yourself a favor and first get the malwarebytes thing - install/run that - then do the online scan at the bitdefender site.
you'll be amazed at the results, not to mention your computer will probably run better...

My computer is trashed from malware or a virus. Please help!?

Ok, back in march I accidentally DLed Snap.do and have not been able to remove it since. Malwarebytes-no. Avast-no. Microsoft security-no. Manually-no. When I do try to uninstall it manually, it tells me it can't be removed. Well my computer has gone to crap, but im not sure if its from snap.do. Anyway, I can't run a full scan on anything, I can't uninstall ANYTHING, not even scrabble! Sometime ago I downloaded a antivirus program with a silver spider as the emblem and it found it, but I didn't have the money to buy to remove then. It found like 280 dangers. Now that I have the money I can't remember the name of it. Anyone know? Or any ideas how to fix my computer? It truly has taken over and is fighting me. Its even deleted all my restore points! I start online classes in less than a month!

Do quiz sites infect your computer with malware?

1. Quizilla was started in 2002 as a user generated online quiz website. It originally started as a website for quizzes, such as personality quizzes. According to Wikipedia, it's harmless fun.
2. Teenick is part of Nickelodeon featured shows. Girls Games. Quizzes. Degrassi. Saved By The Bell. That 70s Show. Harmless fun for a girl.
3. Skip the sudoku and check out gURL's online games. Make your own romance, dress your favorite celebrities, find a steamy movie, pick out a perfume and more...Play a game!
4. A huge collection of free personality tests and fun online quizzes on love, relationships and the self. A useful sliding format makes each quiz doubly fast and easy ...
5. Georgia Girl's Love and Romance Sampler: Animation, cyberCards, pictures, poets, quotes of love, love Songs, web games, Southern sayings, Southern humor, color quiz, etc.

Mom, at least you're asking questions BEFORE trouble happens. Depending on your daughter's age and maturity for her age, I'd keep MY young daughter away from #5. She's not ready for that, yet. My 7-year old great granddaughter has been into Teennick, and found games suitable for her age group, so letting your child venture, with supervision, is a good way of teaching them. I am in the same room with the 7-year old, so I KNOW what she's doing and she's doing it with me sitting behind her. Good move, Mom!

I'm not sure if I answered your actual question. ALL websites leave some traces on your computer. They are called cookies and are harmless. However, some spyware and malware can creep in, so arm your self with some good removal tools and use them often. SuperAntiSpyware is the best I've found and I've been doing this for 20 years. It's free and easy to use. Another is CCleaner, also free.

Now I have been using FLVTO for over a year now and never experience anything bad with it. But could it be possible it was hacked and can now harm your computer.I don't know if you guys have been on the website lately, can you tell me if it is safe? If you are downloading and nothings wrong, tell me, if your computer detects malware alse, can you guys tell me any other websites similar so I can download music?

Virus/malware help, any ideas?

mkay so i was live streaming a video from "narutoget.com" when all of a sudden, over the top of my video is what sounds like a camera recording of a man proposing to his wife
at first i thought that it was something wrong with the video so i paused it but the recording kept going
i checked all the advertisements around the website but none of them were relevant in any way.

being the mad ninja computer knowledge i hit ctrl alt delete and checked on what was running but it told me that only my browser (google chrome) was running
(all the while listening to some nasaly voiced girl crying over a ring i couldnt even see (probably cheap by the sounds of the recording)
as a last resort i closed my browser but STILL i could hear this recording
unplugged my headset and it played through the speakers
logged out of msn (thinking that it was an advertisement) but still it played

theres a similar question on yahoo answers that mentions a "pinball like noise" coming from the computer with the same effects
i've experienced this too so i tried the suggestions to that question but to no prevail

so to conclude i've narrowed it down to 3 possibilities

1: my laptop is haunted
2: my laptop is picking up secret government radio signals
3: malware

Where can I get help with my infected computer?

Well, chances are that you won’t have to. Thanks to the technology advancements of the past decade, we can now remove the majority of malware by using either an Antivirus or an Anti-Malware.So, the answer is, use an Antivirus or an Anti-Malware depending on the virus that you have. Having both of them won’t hurt as long as you do not let them scan together at the same time.As for which ones to choose. Personally, I’ve always been using Windows Defender as my Antivirus and MalwareFox as my Anti-Malware.I’m aware that many do not agree with using Windows Defender, but I never had a problem with it. So, either I’m too careful, or those who get infected while using Windows Defender are too careless. Not sure which is the answer.

HELP! Can't update Malwarebyte's Antimalware?

Quite possibly the problem is that whatever is on your computer that you are trying to deal with is stopping you from getting through to Malwarebytes. I've just connected to there quite successfully.

Try getting through to Bleeping Computer and/or Major Geeks. At Bleeping Computer you'll find guides for specific malware and how to deal with them. Some of them are needing more than just Malwarebytes now. At Major Geeks, they have a cleaning guide which not only uses Malwarebytes but also other programs, two of which target rootkits quite well.

You might need to rename Malwarebytes to something else and get your update somewhere else as well. It may also be possible to start your computer in Safe Mode and then update it, since Safe Mode only allows an absolute minimum of things to be run. After updating successfully (we hope...) you can then go back to Normal Mode to run the scans. This may help you to get Malwarebytes updated and running:
http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread....

If you have a name for what you are trying to deal with and you can't get through to Bleeping Computer or Major Geeks, try googling for details here at Yahoo - someone may have posted the details you need for how to remove the problem. Use the most recent copy you can find, since some of the guides have had to be changed since some of the viruses were changed so that using Malwarebytes alone was no longer enough.

If you don't find details you could post a question with virus name and make sure you make it extremely clear in your question that you can't get through to read the guide and request someone paste the information here, or you could see if you can get to http://www.2-spyware.com/parasites.php who also have guides on specific viruses.

These are probably your most useful links at Bleeping Computer and Major Geeks:
Specific guides: http://bleepingcomputer.com/virus-remova...
Uninstall info for lots of programs, good and bad: http://bleepingcomputer.com/uninstall/
Major Geeks cleaning guide (comprehensive): http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

Hope something out of that lot helps you.
