Network connected but no internet?
Today my internet just stopped working. I am on wired connection and it says it is connected and is sending and receiving packages. Windows XP SP3 D-Link DGL 4300 All of the wireless computers that I have are working but only this one wired isn't working. When I click on internet explorer it comes up with the 'Cannot display web page' screen for every website. I can't even connect to the router. Why would it say that I'm connected but the internet not work?
Computer says its connected to "Network" and has internet access but it doesn't?
Alright so my brother built this computer not too long ago. It was working fine until one day i turned it on and tried to get on the internet but i couldn't connect. Its not even connected to my normal network which is strange, because its not wireless. I've tried restarting the router but its still connected to this network called "Network." There are no other networks listed on there just "Network." It says it has internet connection, but when i try to go on the internet it wont connect. Anybody know how to fix this?
Connected to network BUT no Internet?
My laptop is clearly connected to the network and also says it has strong connection but yet when I try to open safari or any other server it says that it cannot display the page. I click 'diagnose' but all it says is that they 'cannot find any problem'. I cleaned all the cookies and everything but my internet still won't work! Please help!!
Connected to network but no internet?
On my labtop I am trying to connect to my Belkin router which is set up as an access point. I can connect to the router, but it does not pick up internet from it. There is a computer directly connected to the router and it works fine... And the funny thing is i was using it at a diferent location and it was working fine, once i moved it wont pick up the internet and i dont know why. Any ideas?
Wireless network -- connected to network but no internet?
The problem sounds like to be DNS, firewall or default gateway. Check the following: Check the current IP settings on your computer: Start->run->cmd, enter "ipconfig /all" command and check that actually you have configured the correct IP address, Netmask, default gateway and DNS servers. Now lets check connectivity, ping another computer from your PC on the same network. If it works it means that your IP addressing is fine. Then ping your default gateway. If it works the Default gateway is available. Then ping internet but do not use a name, use an ip address to check if the DNS is fine. For example instead of ping yahoo.com ping its ip address 216.109.112.135. If you dont get a response check if there is any firewall feature enabled on your default gateway or a NAT issue. If you get a response it means that you can get out to internet if you have a response try then to ping using yahoo.com if it does not work it means that your DNS servers are not properly configured. If there is a DHCP server in your network try to get an ip address form it, the server will provide all the necessary ip addresses to get you out to internet.
Connected to network but no internet access?
I have a four bar connection with my network, but my desktop computer says i am not connected to the internet. I have tried resetting my modem and router, it did nnot work. The strange part is, the internet works on my laptop. my laptop has intergrated internet, and my desktop (the one without internet access) is connected via usb wifi. any sugestions? (I dont know alot about computers if you cant tell) Specifications: I am connected to a netgear router i dont know what model... all it says on it is (network name: NETGEAR00) My usb wifi is also netgear i have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the usb wifi thing it says something about IPv4 and IPv4 both not being connected to the internet if i am missing deatailes (im sure i am) tell me what im missing and how i can find it out)
My network not connected to internet?
Alright, first off...you didn't give us much to work with. I can try to tell you how to set up your network, as in the wire scheme...from there, you'd have to give me more details for troubleshooting your network problem. So, currently, you have two routers. Well, I'm thinking, one is a modem, and then you have a router. What you need to do is make sure you have a connection coming from the wall to the modem, from the modem to your router, and then from your router to your computer. That way, when the internet comes through, it hits your modem, gets converted and then is transferred to your router, which will be running a private network most likely, from your router, your computer will pull an ip address (if set up properly to do so) and you will be ready to work out the issues of getting online...but at least the physical connetions are done...again, I'd need more information in order to help you finish with troubleshooting this issue.
Computer says "connected" but "no internet access"?
When it says that it means that the computer is connected to the Local Area Network in your home so you can still talk to other computers or devices connected to the same network, it's just the modem does not have connection to the internet which ca either be the moden's fault or something's wrong with your ISP (Internet Service Provider)
HELP! Internet doesnt work but connected to wireless network?
My laptop is connected to my wireless network and signal strength is good. But when i go to internet explorer is says "Internet Explorer has stopped working". Im using Vista by the way The fan would get hot and turn the computer off so i took it apart cleaned it out and put it back together the way it was. Yes i do know what im doing. I even made sure WLAN was connected properly. and now IE doesnt connect. other computers in my house work fine on internet. This just started happening after i put it back together. Any suggestions to why this would happen?
Internet wont work and it says connected.?
I am wondering if anyone might have seen this? I can get this gateway laptop to connect via lan or even wirless and yet it doesnt see the connection. The funny part is .. that it shows its connected. The satus near the clock says connected. No internet. I reinstalled the driver for both the lan and wireless card many times.. I even tried to resent the IP address. Nothing.. any help? its not the router or modem... this computer wont connect on any router or modem anywhere. i have tried the owners house, my house, a hot spot, i have connected it to the modem, to the router. says its connected but internet wont get through,
