Confused Commerce Student / Help

I'm confused about my career. I am a commerce student doing my B.Com. What should I do with it, get a CA or prepare for the CAT or civil services?

The process of becoming CA is long and tiring. I have seen people investing too much money and time in it ( some give even 8 years). It is definitely one of the best choices but if you want quick results and lack patience then don't go for CA.Now, CAT is altogether a different story man! I may sound pessimistic but  I am telling you the truth (you may cross check it). For CAT,you need very strong command in quant, reasoning and english. Just for a comparison, CAT is tougher than SSC CGL and IBPS (in these exams also quant, reasoning and english is asked). Now, after even if you got a good percentile in CAT, you need good PROFILE SCORE(this is a devil just google about it). They give you marks for PG and job experience. So, CAT is way more tough than you are imagining. I don't know your exact capabilities so I can't tell you any other option. But don't panic there are many more options like bank PO, SSC CGL, IES(Indian econnomic services), SSC 10+2 etc. All depends upon how much knowledge you have of graduation subjects? How strong is your quant, reasoning and english? How much time you can dedicate? Over to you man!

I am a commerce student who hasn’t taken math. I am confused what I should do after 12th. What are some of the best options after 12th?

If you have no idea about what to do or if you think you know what you want to do but you cannot even write 10 sensible lines about your chosen profession. Then you should leave everything else and just focus on making a good career decision. There are two important aspects of choosing a career. First is awareness, you need to know (What is, Education, Skills, Positives, Challenges and A Day) in the profession you finally choose. Second is Self Assessment, after you understand a particular profession you should try to figure out if that profession is good for you.Do not waste your time with parents, friends, relatives, teachers, counselors, aptitude tests... Declare to yourself - My Life, My Career, My Decision. Rest of your life will depend on how much effort you have invested in taking a smart career decision.Using LifePage Android App you learn about various careers by watching videos of real professionals. Then you do Self Assessments to choose a career.

I am in class 10th and confused between commerce and science stream. PLEASE HELP. What should I take?

It depends on where your interest lies. Both streams have very good career opportunities. If you take up Commerce, some of the career options that you can explore are:BankingEquity ResearchChartered AccountantFinancial Analyst , etc.If you take up Science, apart from Engineering and Medicals, you can explore options like:Video Game DesignerForensicsFashion Technologist , etc. There is no right or wrong stream..it totally depends on your interest, passion and aptitude. To know more about careers in Science and Commerce or to seek professional career guidance for class 1oth, you can visit us at LodestarDisclaimer: I am a Career Expert at Lodestar

I am confused between science or commerce. What is the future growth of science and commerce?

All the streams are good on their count individually. Every stream and course has wider growth of scope with lots of opportunity but its completely depend upon one’s ability, learning, thinking and efforts. So , think twice that where your interest lies actually because one you choose it would difficult to switch and sometimes impossible. Once you choose ,you are gonna spend 3–5 years in reading those subjects and throughout your life you will be working on it. You only can can be consistent with constant effort if you have interest in those subjects.Let me share my case with you, I was not good in science and find it very difficult to understand the concept .I have no interest in Arts and perceive it very boring to learn history and dates . So finally, what i left with is Commerce and it also gives you opportunity to start afresh with very new things for the first time in 11.Where commerce will open the world of finance and management for you.A commerce student can make his/her career in various fields like CA , ICWA, CS, Banker,Financial Analyst , Manager, Accountant, Professor ,Financial executive and many more.Science will give the opportunity to play with the technology, being the experts of living beings in different specialization.A lot of trade are there IT, electrical , electronics, mechanical, civil, BIO, bio technology etc. carer options are Doctor, Engineer in different specialization, software and app developer, etc. One special benefit is that you can switch to others stream after 12th.Some common career options available with both of them based on individual performance and knowledge are the govt. exams and private jobs with bachelor degree as the eligibility criteria.Govt. jobs are in Banks, Railway, tax department , SSC, Defense, Business man, ministry of various department etc where as Private jobs are BPO, KPO, Receptionist, private tutor and communication based jobs which are very demanding now a days.

Which is better, science or commerce?

So here I suggest commerce as I am also a commerce student. So, the reason behind for choosing this stream have a vast reason for meI passed my 10th board exam in 2015–16 and secured 9.0 CGPA. And I was confusing to my aim and at last I decided commerce stream because of some reasonsAs we living in india , there is too much level of competition I have seen in science stream. In fact mostly all my friends are in science stream. You have to face NEET (entrance exam) for achieving admission in Medical college either it is government or private. I think it is most toughest exam I seen. Many of students waste their parents money in paying fees in coaching institiue for preparing to the NEET.Many of them were drop out and if they missed the 3 times chance to be passed in entrance exam they were totally disappointed. And next is that there is too much fees of medical institute so many students are in compulsion to take loans at higher rates.why commerce is better option ?Easy to be admitted in any collegeLow fees as comparison to medical collegeAnd of course easier way of gaining knowledge and building up a professionyou can also do a part time job for fulfillment of your personal needs instead of taking pocket money from parents, where in science stream you have to be fully devoted to studies.you started feeling experienced in this stream and can think beyond. You have more time to enjoying your younger era as comparison to scienceA one more big reasonA one more big reason is that when you are in 11th with science stream you have to face a bulky form of information like equations, formulae and much more useless whether that is neither important nor applicable in real life.On the other hand if you are in 11th with comerce you started experience like a businessman. You already come into profession. Started learning realistic calculations that will sharpen your mind more than other. And after completing 12th Board seriously you are completely capacble for handle you own firm. Thanks for readingAnd sorry for weak pronunciations, I’m too weak in english basially I always prefer my native language HINDI.And I am not insist you to take commerce stream I am just expressing my views. And I’m not criticised Medical fiedls i just saying my opinions. It depends on your choice and interest.

I am a student of class 10 and I am confused between science and commerce. Where can I find career counselling?

Do not choose science because people say, it has more scope. Always go with the subject you have interest in. If you are eager to learn and have genuine interest in the subject then studies won't seem to be a burden. Other wise performing well in future would become quite difficult cuz as you go ahead in graduation you cannot mugup everything, you would have to understand and analyze complex topics no matter which stream you choose.People who says commerce doesn't have scope or commerce is too easy either have no idea about it or are complete idiots. One should not speak about things they don't know, but unfortunately people do.After 12th in Commerce you can go for B.Com, CS, CA, BBA, BBA-LLB, and later MBA.Professional courses like CA and CS are gaining popularity these day and demand for professionals in corporate sector is rising .Talking about placement, if in you are talking about IIT's placement then in commerce side also u have to consider the best like SRCC and IIM....  All of them can place you very well. Also note that there are engg colleges and coaching in all nuk and corner and not all engg colleges provide good placement. No matter which stream you choose, there is no short cut to excellence, just one way, work hard and work smart. You are too young right now have enough time for placement and stuffs, don't worry about them right now, do what ur heart say and do what you enjoy doinG. Just make sure, be the best in what ever you do.....All the best wishes
