Conservatives Did You Know That Liberalism Always Wins Eventually Just Like It Did During The

Why do conservatives always eventually lose?

Because they have forgotten the quote attributed to John f. Kennedy, " Ask not what your county can do for you, but rather, what you can do for your country ."

I am one of those conservatives eg. Teddy Roosevelt .

You know the " Teddy Bear " was named after him.

Does social progress always win against social conservatism?

You have a point. It is just important to note that social progress is not the same a socialism or far left liberalism politically speaking. Just as social conservatism is not the same as political conservatism.

I know that a lot of political liberals like to refer to themselves as progressives. It isn't progressive to have government in control of your personal life. Governmental regulation/monitoring is not progressive either. Repressive taxation is not progressive. And Social Engineering/Social Services/Public Education/Universal Health care are not progressive either.

In other words Government interference is not progressive, it is oppressive.

Whether they realize it or not, I find conservatives and liberals to be very condescending toward each other. What will it take for both sides to admit their shortcomings in an effort to reach an honest consensus?

There’s a way of writing, on Facebook and other media, that makes people feel better and more conciliatory. Just one well-chosen compliment or the use of a polite thank you changes the demeanor of the conversation.I am bad at this.Like many others, my default writing style on social media is a confrontational, ego-based one. Every conversation is like the Wild West, edging in ready to draw our guns if someone makes a move. Flattery or rhetorical tricks like tribal identification isn’t a substitute for humble, complimentary conversation. We’re very used to the ego-battle way of writing - so used to it that certain ego-battle phrases or syntax draw us into the fighting configuration. This has become a dominant way of writing across the internet, particularly on “political” matters. It’s almost the default style for “political” people who write about “important” things. It’s sub-par.We can improve the way we communicate here. I don’t exactly know how in terms of a rule set - it’s more of a case-by-case thing where I know when I’ve done it right and I know when I haven’t. Hopefully you can figure this out.I think we’ll eventually change our communication style as the written-ego approach becomes less useful. But for the time being, this is where we are. This is what we can improve. We’re all better at it in real life than we are on the internet, so that’s one positive indicator.Good luck. I hope you and I can both become better at being humble on the internet. That’ll be two more, and we aren’t so different that others don’t think in similar ways. If we can successfully change ourselves, there are millions of similar people who will be similarly successful.I hope we can do better.

Today's Liberals are Tomorrow's Conservatives?

lol NO WAY please do not compare libs to conservatives
no way
conservatives love this great country..

Will liberalism eventually prevail or something else will replace it?

No, probably not.You see the terms liberalism and conservatism are relative to the context they are put in, or the current society, if you will.-What characterizes liberalism is openness to new ideas and reforms, and it often looks at the current society as something that is old and needs to change. Liberalism comes from the latin word «liber», which means «free», hence the wish for liberation from the tradition and rules of the current society. Liberalism is always to the left, politically, compared to its current society.-What characterizes conservatism on the other hand, is contrary to liberalism, an appreciation for tradition and the rules of the current society. Conservatism comes from the word «conserve», which means to protect, and in this case, protect the current culture and tradition. Conservatism is always to the right, politically, compared to its current society. What a conservative wants, and what a liberalist wants can vary a lot depending on the society they live in. Classical liberalism for example, is, let’s call it a political ideology in lack of a better word, that was considered liberal in the 19th century. But now, in the modern era, classical liberalism is considered to be slightly to the right on the political spectrum. To answer your question - will liberalism eventually prevail?Well, if modern liberalism prevails, then society will shape itself according to the new dominant political ideology and all remaining ideologies will be placed left or right in relation to liberalism. So the answer is no, liberalism will not prevail, because if it does, then a more radical ideology will take its place as liberalistic - unless we all come to some consensus that liberalism is the absolute political ideology, and nobody else has another political view than liberalism - which is very unlikely.

Do you think liberalism is superior to conservatism, or vice versa?

Ideologically, no. In practice today, absolutely. In general, liberalism always eventually wins in the United States.Starting with the founding. There's nothing more insanely liberal in all of human history than freedom of speech. The right to bear arm - that one is FLAMINGLY liberal if you can logic your way thru the counterintuitiveness of it. The rest of theBill of Rights. From there, liberalism brought us The National Parks. Women's right to vote. The right to elect our own state senators. The 8 hour work day. Guaranteeing the franchise at age 18. Civil Rights. The right of association. Abolishing slavery. Clean water. Every individual right and freedom enjoyed today is an example - usually from a very hard and long fight - of liberalism winning over conservatism. Bar none.Conservatism, in principle, is NOT a bad thing or anything other than valid, entirely American and honorable. As it's intended philosophical intent and purpose, conservatism is a framework in which to measure and test ideas. It's mirror opposite, liberalism is a framework in which to measure and test ideas. So, in the envisioned purpose of either, is, by nature, neither superior OR inferior in relation to the other; the IDEAS produced certainly can be so characterized, and SHOULD be, with no recriminations, no character assassinations on whomever throws out the idea, regardless if the idea is singularly brilliant or batshit stupid.Conservatism in this era (past 40 years or so) as practiced by Republicans, Trumpism, neocons, Christian Religious Extremists, Nationalists, racists and the ilk is antithetical to the American Way, a malignancy in the body American. A tumor that soon will be bigger than the brain it is parasitically destroying. It has devolved from a wellspring of ideas to a naked grab for power, a wholesale destruction of the wealth of a nation to self enrichment, AT ALL COSTS.I mean, it cannot get any more obvious than the witnesses of conservatism turning Jesus from a peaceful hippy preaching helping the poor and providing for the sick and elderly, into a effin HEDGE FUND MANAGER, selling out his grandmother's social security and Medicare, turning teachers and flight attendants retirement into subprime toxic financial bundlings for the enrichment of self WHILE doing way more to his neighbors ass than mere coveting.
