Conservatives What Are Your Thoughts On Mitch Mcconnell

Is this how Conservatives view the world?

Your map is a couple years out of date. The WMD's are no longer in Iraq, they're in Iran and Pakistan now. The part of Libya that Gaddafi controls should be marked "freedom" and not "terrorists" any longer, although the rebel controlled areas should still be marked terrorists. And Russia is much closer to Alaska than that, you can see Russia from Alaska. Other than that it's a fairly accurate map.

I see this question got you quite a lot of angry responses. It just goes to show how true this map really is....good job.

Do conservatives approve of Mitch McConnell's calls to reduce or eliminate Medicare and cuts to social security?

Nobody has said eliminate social security. Don't play word games or listen to other people's agenda'sWe've known since I was a kid that social security would have to be adjusted to meet current problems with baby boomer generation and the fact people are living longerYour head would have to be buried in the sand not to know this day was coming. The last 4 Presidents have tried to fix it

Is Mitch McConnell the Republican version of Ted Kennedy or a conservative 'lion' of the Senate?

Uh. No.Ted Kennedy's was considered a liberal lion because he legislated. He drafted ideas and goals and fought to make them law.At the age of 33, Senator Ted Kennedy was getting Medicare passed in the Senate. He pushed through Medicaid in 1970. His Senate career is a lengthy list of legislative achievements that few could even touch.I often shudder to think how Ted Kennedy's legacy would have been shrunk had he successfully beaten Robert Byrd to be Majority Leader in 1976.Kennedy got things done and worked to get things passed. Liberal things to be sure. McConnell's legacy largely pushing the agenda procedurally but not substantively.Given his “leadership” since 2016, McConnell has proven himself to be more leader of the cackle of hyena than be the king of the pride.UPDATE: Got your own answer, the comments field of my answer is not the place for that. The Chrys Jordan rule has been imposed.

How can we stop Mitch McConnell from getting re-elected in 2020?

You cannot. It is Kentucky. Democrats are not going to win statewide in Kentucky these days. The only way Mitch McConnell might lose is from a Republican challenger. He had a contested primary in 2014 against Matt Bevin and he won. Matt Bevin went on to win the Governors office later. Bevin is more conservative than McConnell.Since then, McConnell has redeemed himself in the eyes of Conservatives with his successful plan to block Judge Merrick Garland from the Supreme Court and save the seat for Justice Neil Gorsuch. That was probably the toughest and most politically courageous move Mitch McConnell could have made to save the Supreme Court. As a result, Mitch McConnell has incredible new support from the right wing of the party that he probably did not have during his 2014 re-election campaign. In my opinion, if Mitch McConnell wants to run again in 2020, he is a lock for re-election in his primary and the general. It is a waste of time to try to beat him.

As a Republican, how do you feel about Mitch McConnell?

Much like was the case with the last presidential agenda the same is true of this one - the agenda will not be stopped no matter what the opposition does. It took obama going behind closed doors and blocking the republicans from voting on obamacare to get it passed… that opened the door for a new type of politics.I do love this though:“Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell abruptly canceled nearly half of the Senate’s summer vacation Tuesday, saying he will force lawmakers to stick around the humid confines of Washington in order to give Congress more time to make progress on President Trump’s agenda.Passing a budget, repealing Obamacare and beginning work on tax reform are at the top of the to-do list”From — Mitch McConnell: Senate will delay start of August recess
