Correct The Paragraph

Correct this Paragraph Help?

Do you remember those comic strips with the guy dragging himself across the desert toward what he thinks is water, only to have it move on ahead of hiim? The poor guy is seeing a mirage and the problem is optical, not mental. A mirage is actually a reflection of light from the sky. It appears only when the temperature is right. First, there has to be a layer of hot air over a surface, and at the same time there must be a layer of cool air just above the hot air. Rays of light from the sky go in a straight line through the cool air, but when they hit the hot air, they bend upward and then into the eye. What looks like a pool of refreshing water is just sky blue air; what a disappointment for a thirsty person!

Cooking is not as easy as it looks. For example, the terminology. Selecting the freshest ingredients for cooking. It is important. The biggest challenges like knowing where to begin, and understanding the instructions. Even washing and preparing fresh vegetables. The cookbook can help if it has pictures. Written instructions are not easy. Good results means having the right tools. Skillets, sauce pans, spatulas, spoons, whisks and others for example. Who would have thought making breakfast would be so hard? There is a lot to learn. Especially in cooking.

Schools to train gide dogs began after World War I. The first American gide-dog school The Seeing Eye, Inc. began in 1929. The most popular guide dogs are these German shepherds golden retrievers and Labrador retrievers. Gide dogs learn to lead the blind across streets and around obstacles wholes low hanging awnings or tree limbs. The dogs must also exercise good judgment. For example of a blind person gives a command to walk and the guide dog sees danger, the dog must disobey. This is called 'intelligent disobediance.' Guide-dog schools are fairly recent. Paintings scrolls and ledgends tell of dogs faithfull service since at least 100 B.C.E.

How do I write a correct paragraph?

Hi. Great question!!  Normally, a paragraph is between 4 and 6 sentences, but of course exceptions are common. A paragraph has one topic sentence and 3-5 supporting sentences. The topic sentence states the main point of the paragraph and is oftentimes the first sentence of the paragrah, but it doesn't have to be depending on the author's style. The supporting sentences must all relate to the topic sentence by giving examples, details, analogies, logical conclusions, etc. The last sentence of the paragraph could either be a summary of the paragraph or a transition into the next paragraph, or (quite cleverly) both. Two excellent websites to further help you:http://www.time4writing.com/writ...https://owl.english.purdue.edu/o...

Is this paragraph correct in the way someone would speak?

One man's chicken is another man's feather.  The problem isn't grammar, per se; it's the basic approach. No body is "average" weight, in a description.  I'm 6'0" tall; anyone under 5'9" is short.  My 5'2" GF thinks anyone over 5'6" is tall.  The same principle applies to weight.  There is no average.  There is fat, obese, thin, skinny, and morbid.  (Among other options.)  I think I'm fat; fat people think I'm skinny, and you over there, you with the BMI = 22?  Just leave...>I think he had brown hair, average  weight, and average height. Other than that I can't remember.Consider:  I'm thinking, brown hair, my height (or taller, or shorter, or several inches taller, or John's height, or ...), probably 30 pounds heavier...  Anyone under 160# has trouble understanding the 200-300 pound range and will get it wrong.
