Is the Wish app safe to buy from?

I have bought a lot of things from Wish. At first it was just some small, inexpensive items to get a feel for the company and their service. They are just as advertised. One thing I have noticed (not that I know a lot about the company itself) it appears from the products, these are made in China and drop shipped to the U.S. (I think that is the proper term.) It takes a while to get some items but I’ve noticed that most of the items I ordered arrived before the expected delivery date. Also I had only one item I was not happy with. I wrote to customer service and they told me they would replace it or refund my money. They also said I did not have to return the item. Just keep it as a gift. Well, of course, it is not much of a gift if unusable but I did appreciate the gesture and not having the hassle of re-boxing and shipping it back to them. Every item had small print instructions that were hard to read and the English was horrible. (many typos and spelling, grammar errors). It was obvious it had been printed in China and someone with ESL tried translating it but was not very good at it. That is about my only real complaint. One item I ordered (a telescope) had instructions in Chinese only. I was able to figure out how to use it from the diagrams but a couple of functions are still confusing. I’m happy with it though. I can see mountains and craters on the Moon, Mars is quite visible as well as Saturn and its rings. My point is, if you are looking for good deals on inexpensive items, this is a good place to shop. But like everything in life, you get what you pay for. Good place for USB mini cables for charging electronic devices like cell phones, TF memory cards for cameras, phones, etc. Least expensive good quality HDMI cables I have found anywhere. Got a great car cam from them too. I am pleased with the cam accessories I got for my phone which are sturdy and well made. LED lighting strips work fine as do the solar powered LED light strings (mini Xmas tree lights).

Why do people buy goods at lower price??

As income availability decreases, more people (and businesses) will purchase things that are lower in price because of budget constraints. People want to get as much as they can based on what they can afford.Tagging off Jim Watkins' comment about thinking short term: A lot of us are looking for what will satisfy us immediately (instant gratification) with the least cost. Though it would be smart to consider the factor of depreciation (how fast the item decreases in value over time). A lot of people may not consider this when making a buying decision because of the allure of something appearing to be closer to being "free".For example, a phone case made of plastic is much cheaper than a phone case made of leather. Someone who gets a plastic case might have to keep replacing it every couple of months, and someone who gets a leather case will have to pay more but will not have to replace it as often.  The plastic case depreciates (reduces in value/quality) faster than the leather case, but many people will still buy it because "well, look, it's only $3".

How long will a package take coming from China to the East Coast of the USA?

How long will a package take coming from China?I order consumer products from China all the time, I am a collector and many of the items I collect originate in China. Even many items that originally came from Japan are now produced in China. The Chinese people are hard working quality minded individuals that have developed over the centuries a work ethic that is capable of exceeding even the most talented competitors.I am usually told to allow 5 to 8 weeks for shipments to be delivered to my door, however the average total time or time from ordering to delivery has historically been about half that stated, and much of the delay is caused in the customs department of the USA.So to give you an idea, say I received today via UPS 5 packages, of those 3 were ordered through company’s in Japan one item was ordered on the 25th of September this year and shipped on the 29th of September, I just received it today about 10:00AM mountain standard time. If you’re on the east coast then you probably will get your shipment quicker.Another item was ordered from a Chinese company on September 29th and shipped on September 29th and the both arrived here at the same time, today at 10:00 AM mountain standard time.So actually it’s been taking about two weeks, and some change. Meaning that on average maybe 15 or 16 days to get to my front door from the time I place the order. It’s a far cry from the days that any mail took six to eight months to arrive in the USA from China.

Should I be a kamikaze pilot for Halloween?

Probably not. First, this would be a difficult concept to put together. You could dress up in a WW II Japanese pilot's uniform (which hardly anyone will recognize as what it is), but what would define you as a kamikaze pilot instead of just another air force or navy pilot? Second, assuming you did something that was definitively identifying you as a kamikaze pilot, this is a rather insensitive notion on all sides; what if you encounter someone who lost a relative aboard a US or British or Australian ship that was hit by a kamikaze? What if you encounter someone who lost a relative (grandfather, uncle, brother) because they were a kamikaze pilot? Is a Halloween costume worth the pain you might cause such persons?

Is it legal to own a sword in the UK?

Certainly. If my wife’s uncle chose to pass on the family swords to her, for example, she’d have a few antique Japanese swords, & it’d be perfectly legal for her to own & import them. She’d be in trouble if she started waving ’em around in public, or even carrying them in public without a good reason (there are legitimate reasons), but owning them? No problem at all!Others have mentioned re-enactors. If one attends re-enactment of a Civil War battles, for example, there’ll be lots of people wandering around carrying swords, & they’ll be the personal property of the re-enactors. Sometimes they’ll be camping on the battle site, doing re-enactments daily for a few days, in which case there’ll be a field full of tents occupied by people with swords, pikes, matchlock muskets & pistols, etc.Times have changed, though. A bloke I used to know at school was once stopped by police on his way home from a re-enactment. He was in full civil war rig, including his sword (scabbarded, of course), & a bit pissed. It was in Aylesbury Market Square IIRC. They asked him what he was doing with the sword. He drew himself up & said “Sirs! It is an article of a gentleman’s dress”. They laughed & told him to go home, & next time tie it into the scabbard. I think they’d be stricter these days, & might take it off him & tell him to collect it from the police station when he sobered up, & tie it into the scabbard before taking it.
