Could You Recover From A Wound

Stab wound recovery time. 10 easy points?

Time to get real. If the liver is not actively bleeding, he will be in the hospital for 5 days maximum, Recovery time (meaning very limited activity, no stress) about 2-3 weeks. Liver tissue is very forgiving and because of the great blood supply, will heal fairly quickly. Closeness to death depends upon how close the injury was to the major vessels that supply the liver (portal and arterial circulation or the bile duct system). A simply laceration of the parenchyma (actual liver) would not be very problematic unless there was ongoing bleeding or an infection developed. It would hurt like heck though.

Can i get tattoo if im still recovering from a gunshot wound to the thigh?

Uhh...I'd say not. Your body is trying to heal right now, adding a tattoo on top of that will overload your immune system. Your tattoo may not heal properly or even at all. Plus, with your immune system working to heal your gun shot/tattoo, you'd be more susceptible to infections.

How long does it take to recover from a gun shot?

A lot really depends on the type of injury. The one type of injury that is never shown are damage to the bone. So a bullet could shatter bone, or in the case of hollow paints, rip off a limb. This will take a long time to recover.Mostly what movies try to depict is the “flesh wound”. But you will need that flesh, or muscle, to be able to do things, and a bullet in the muscle could make that useless or extremely weakened. The other issue is that bandaging up a wound to stop it bleeding works only if you keep it still. Once you start flexing that muscle or running around the dressing will come lose and bleeding will recommence. Then of course there are wounds to organs. Being shot nearly anywhere in the torso will hit an organ. Most will cause your body to go into shock, others will leak air, bile etc.Having said all that, wounded people have continued to fight in battles, including people with multiple wounds who continue to assault and take enemy positions. As said at the beginning it all depends on where you are shot. But also another factor is adrenaline. This keeps you going through the pain of the wound. But once you stop to get treated you will find that pain takes over as well as your body comes down from the adrenaline high.

How long would it take someone to recover from a stab wound to the left of the stomach?

That depends on complications and other organ or muscles involved. If treated immediately and properly removing all unwanted leakage or harmful discharge from other organs and repairing all wounds properly without too much bloodless, proper anesthesia and oxygen, Imagine you could be up and about in a few days. Proper healing though could take many months, the wounds will heal quickly if your immune system is good and you are caring for yourself properly, taking what ever meds you should. A good strong heart and good O2 saturation, it will still be likely 8 or 9 months until you are at 100% maybe longer. Besides healing, your body is not getting it's normal movement and exercise so once you are healed thoroughly, you still need to gain all your strength and stamina back.

How long for a stab wound to heal?

if everything goes right, it takes 6 wks for this to fully heal..the skin usually closes up quicker than the tissues inside..so the scarline is simply the scarline...& it doesn't 'fade'..ya can't 'erase' a cut...
he can walk today, as long as he doesn't go & do something stupid, like fall over..a good sudden muscle contraction to the abdomen may cause that wound to open back up;; he's pretty safe after ~ 4 wks, but shouldn't be lifting >10#'s until about the 4th wk, then maybe lifting the lift restriction to 25 #'s, until he's completely healed..then it should be progressive...

How long would it take to recover from a chest/shoulder gunshot wound?

This has many different factors... Mainly it varies for person to person and form Gun to gun.. If the person is healthier, then it wud take around 1 month or 45days to cure completely with hospital good care. Otherwise it can take even 2 to 3 months to recover and if to recovered, he might have internal pain and side effects..
The Weapon Factor... If shot is from a pistol or hand gun, then the injury is of low impact and that will take to heal in a very less period of time. But is shot is from a rifle like AK47 or M4, then the impact is little high and will take little longer to heal.. But if the shot is from a Sniper rifle or Shot gun, u can mostly consider the men is definitely dead, and survival percentage is less than 10%. But is too he is lucky enough, it might take even 4 months to recover..
Remember the movie 44 minutes (real story based), Emil Mătăsăreanu was shot 29 times is shot with rifles and M9 berreta.. he survived for some minuted and then died of trauma. Remember the movie SWAT, The suspect inside the car is taken out by the SWAT sniper unit and he dies in just one shot.. Thats the fact...
Coz, a bullet fired from pistol or M4 the bullet can penetrate in and will mostly remain inside (and will come the other side, if the shot is from M4 in close range).. In Sniper rifle, The bullet is large and heavy, So the bullet penetrates with greater velocity, creating larger damage and comes out the other side wiping out every thing in its passage...

Wat i think is, this matter is usually not revealed by anyone even doc or the police (even i might be wrong).. So, Watch some criminology videos/documentaries and find from it on how much time is takes for them to recover..
Or if u have a very close open minded family doc or open minded friendly cop or army personal, u might ask them too..
Good luck writer/director Rebecca....

How long can you survive a gunshot wound to the neck?

When I was 21 I got in a fist fight at a pool hall after a guy broke a beer bottle over my head, I beat the guy up pretty bad inside before it was broken up and we were escorted out to the parking lot! Well the guy wanted revenge after getting his butt whooped and wanted to fight again, so I happily obliged and gave him the beating he asked for, I had him fully mounted and rained down some brutal punches and elbows until he was unconscious! When I stood up I saw my cousin get hit hit in the head with a que ball by the guy I'd beaten ups friend and that ran to his car, so I chased the guy to his car and he pulled out a .40 caliber pistol and fired a shot that grazed my head, however my adrenaline was pumping so I tried to knock the gun out of his hand and he fired another shot that struck me in the side of the neck, the bullet actually cauterized my curated artery and exited about a half inch from my spine! I tried to cover the holes with my hand but the blood was spraying out of my neck with every pulse, 3 to 6 foot sprays every time my heart beat! Luckily a nurse was at the scene that night and every man and women that was there took their shirts off and started stuffing and wrapping my wounds until the ambulance arrived, which was the only reason I survived long enough to make to the ER where I fought for my life while they operated on me all night! It was the scariest experience of my life no doubt, but I knew right away I had suffered a death blow and there was no way I'd survive, but it just wasn't my time to go! I dont know if I'd say I'm the luckiest man alive, considering I was shot in the neck, however i did survive so I'd say some higher power is responsible for me still being here! There's no right answer to this question, however if you are shot in the neck, odds are you're not gonna make it, but there is a chance that you will, so fight like hell

What happens if you don't clean a wound?

Jin’s and Craigpei’s answers are largely correct. Some of it depends on things like how large is the wound, how dirty is the wound, how deep is the wound, and where you are wounded, and how you are wounded. For example, a penetrating (like a stabbing or gunshot would to the abdomen) is practically guaranteed to get infected. By comparison, a small prick by a needle in your arm is unlikely to get infected.BUT, you can die if a wound gets infected. Here is an example of a guy dying from tetanus from an infected wound. Tetanus is easy to get, but also easy to prevent, with a vaccine. But if you are not vaccinated, and you develop tetanus, this is your potential future. You see, with tetanus, your muscles contract, but never relax. This guy has all his muscles contracting at the same time, and since back muscles are more powerful than stomach muscles, they are pulling him into the arched shape you see here-for DAYS on end, until you lose the ability to breathe, then you die. Probably one of the worst possible ways to die, for there is no good treatment, and those few that live, ty[picaly spend 2–3 months in the hospital.BTW, to make it worse, your muscles can break your leg bones, and possibly even your back, so even if you recover, you are permanently paralyzed. In short, clean wounds (NOT using alcohol or hydrogen peroxide), use a topical antiseptic, and cover the would with a dressing.

How long would you be in the hospital for a stab wound in the stomach?

That is a tough one....everyone heals at different rates. Stab wounds are quite deceiving. The amount of damage caused by a stab wound actually increases as the knife penetrates. So basically where the knife enters the body from that point there is a funnel shaped area of damage. So in other words she will have significant damage especially if the knife was twisted. I would give her about 2 weeks possibly more. It all depends on how she can manage on her own and how her pain is. As soon as she can manage to bathe, get dressed etc on her own and her pain is manageable at home with medication then she should be allowed home. Her wound would also have to be healing well with no signs of infection.
