What is hydraulic pressure?

Principle of Hydraulic PressurePascal’s law states that ” Pressure applied to any part of a confined fluid transmits to every other part with no loss. The pressure acts with equal force on all equal areas of the confining walls and perpendicular to the walls. This is the basic principle for any hydraulic system."In hydraulic machine, here the liquid acts in a closed system of pipes and cylinders. The action of a liquid under such conditions is some what different from its behavior in open containers or in lakes, rivers, or oceans.Hydraulic systems use a in compressible fluid, such as oil or water, to transmit forces from one location to another within the fluid. If you are interested to know more hydraulics , Check: Hydraulic Industry Articles

Problem about Hydraulic press in Physics?

Diameter of the larger piston = 30 cm
Area of larger piston = (22 x 15 x 15 ) / 7= 707 cm² = .0707 m²
a) Diameter of the smaller piston = 6 cm
Area of smaller piston = (22 x 3 x 3) / 7 = 28.28 cm² = .0028 m²
As the pressure inside the liquid is constnt everywhere,
(Larger force/Larger area) = (Smaller force/ Smaller area)
600 / .0707 = s.f /.0028
Smaller force = (600 x .0028) / .0707 = 23.76 N

b) When the larger piston moves 1 cm, the volume of the displaced water will be equal to the volume of water entered into the smaller piston.
1 cm x 707 cm² = h x 28.28 cm²
The height smaller piston moves " h " = (707 x 1) / 28.28
......................................... 25 cms

What is a hydraulic JCB?

JCB is a vehicle manufacturing company name it means JOSEPH CYRIL BAMFORD or J.C. Bamford which started on 1945. Its abt word JCB….Now come to word hydraulic…A hydraulic drive system is a drive or transmission system that uses pressurized hydraulic fluid to power hydraulic machinery. The term hydrostatic refers to the transfer of energy from flow and pressure, not from the kinetic energy of the flow. So, Hydraulic jcb is a vehicle which opreates usig hydrolic pressure. Which is used as a commercial purpose like goods handling, land digging road construction ect.

What is the function of a hydraulic JCB?

I was curious about the “JCB” too, so looked it up, and found the most likely answer to this “hydraulic” question. The JCB company is famous for its excavators, backhoes, tractors and similar earthmoving equipment, whose various functions are hydraulically actuated. I have had a brief encounter in the design of cranes and winches, and one of the most important design aspects of such equipment is their ability to lock a load in case of a loss of hydraulic pressure, so it doesn’t come crashing down and injuring the workers. Such fail-safe features include specially piloted valves to prevent a hydraulic cylinder dropping its load, and mechanical brakes for stopping a rotating boom in case of loss of power.Apparently, the founder of JCB, Joe Cyril Bamford made quite a production in demonstrating the capabilities of his fail-safe devices, as related in the Wikipedia article:“To demonstrate his faith in the hydraulic fail safes on JCB machines (which lock the arms in the event of a loss of hydraulic pressure, preventing them from crashing to the ground), Joe Cyril Bamford arranged to have several backhoes raise themselves up on their arms, and drove his car beneath them. This has since developed into a world-famous demonstration of the versatility of the backhoe configuration. The JCB display team (JCB Dancing Diggers) tour agricultural shows and produce videos, showing some of the unusual ways in which such vehicles can support themselves or manoeuvre. For example, it is quite common for drivers to support the vehicle on both buckets, either for turning on the spot without damaging ground, or for spinning the tracks in a puddle to clean them. The display team expanded this concept into a sort of vehicle gymnastics. The drivers are members of JCB's demonstration team, who visit prospective customers and demonstrate machines on the customer's property to prove the machine's suitability for the task at hand”Note that every single earthmoving equipment is designed with similar fail-safe devices (as are most other moving machinery), but the JCB seems to have gathered a cult among its loyal followers.

What is this hydrocarbon project about? Why should it be banned?

Before comparing with Gujarat and Andra pradesh hydrocarbons projects, just understand the ecology of Tamil nadu hydrocarbons area. Before the advent of Neyveli Lignite Corporation, entire region of cuddalore had good ground water reserves. Just to maintain the open extraction of coals, they have pumped so much water that today entire surrounding area is an barren land. Neither the government or media are bothered because affected people are ignorant, no government support mechanism and they think it is fate and commit suicide. Now neduvasal is a delta region and fertile land. Just think about the amount of water pumped out to maintain the well. Entire delta region will loose it's ground water. This region depends on ground water for agriculture as they hardly receive any water from KRS dam from Karnataka. Ecosystem is very fragile. This is not an sparsely populated area. This is a very fertile land which supports high population density. If they lose the ground water, almost 60% of the population will be displaced.Nowhere in the world agriculture is sacrificed for hydrocarbons.India is a 2 trillions dollars economy, we import around 100 billions dollars of crude oil. India has 1.2 billions people which needs at least $2 everyday for food on each individuals which equals to 100b × 2 × 365 days=around 900 billions dollars. Do we have to sacrifice our 900 billions dollars worth of agriculture for 100 billions worth of crude oils?Already crude oil productions are increasing in the world. It is already cheaper than the food prices.World is transforming to alternative energy, do we need this poluting industry? Now biggest issue on balance of payment is electronic and engineering products. We are not saying we don't want hydrocarbons. But not in the fertile agriculture area.Japan, Germany, South Korea and Taiwan don't have any hydrocarbons. But they have positive balance of payment because they export more electronic and engineering products. So a nation richness is not in the hydrocarbons. But industrialising the population. How many people benefit from this projects. It can create 1 or 2 billionaires and employment to thousands. But will displace milions of people. We are densely populated country, we can't afford to lose any productive land. Just requesting the corrupt corporates, officials and politicians not to play with lives of farmers and nature for your kids settling in abroad. We already have moaist issue in the eastern India. Don't create another one.

Easy Hydraulic device Question?

If the output piston has 14 times the area of the input piston, it will achieve 14 times the force, and 1/14 the distance.

Where are the hydraulic/pneumatic systems in a can opener?

Because there are none in small domestic applicances; there electric. Pneumatic/hydraulic systems could be used in industrial equipment as it's not cost effective in $20 items (unless there's some smart cookie out there)
