Did I Break My Toe So Painful Help

What is the fastest and least painful way to break your ankle?

Realize this: Even if you could break your leg "painlessly", unless you are willing to spend the next 6-8 weeks in a drug induced stupor, risking addiction to highly addictive opiates (which no doctor is going to allow, btw), you recovery will be long and painful. Some insurance policies will not cover self-inflicted injuries, so be ready to shell out some serious bucks, upwards of tens of thousands of dollars. Now, if you're still hell bent on doing this stupid thing:Find an equally stupid friendGet really, really, drunk, and I mean BLIND drunk. The easiest leg bone to break (and "easiest" is a ridiculously relative term!) will be the tibia; that's the large bone that extends from the knee to the ankle at the front of your leg: the shin bone. It is virtually unprotected, but by a thin layer of skin and muscle, but that doesn't mean it will be "easy" to break, just that you won't have to bother smashing through a mass of muscle tissue like with the fibula or the femur. FYI, the tibia is about as big as the femur, it's just a bit less unprotected, so be prepared for some serious trauma.Place your stupid leg between two sturdy supports, one under the knee, one under the heel/ankle/lower leg. Better make sure your "friend" is drunk, too. This is going to be really gross. Have your stupid friend take an aluminum baseball bat and whack the very center of the tibia with it. As hard as he can. Mind you, this bone is extremely hard, so you may have to do it more than once. This will not only cause trauma to your leg, but to your now very inebriated friend. But hey, you asked. He may well want to hit you in the face with said aluminum baseball bat by the time you're done.Have your drunk friend call an ambulance or a cab (don't want that idiot driving), to take you to the hospital where you can tell them your stupid made up story of how you broke your leg. ; >)There are, perhaps, more complicated ways to do this: garage doors, cars, shotguns, bowling balls, etc., but they all pose sort of "Rube Goldberg" type scenarios that are just too complicated to set up for an idiot who wants to break his own leg. Now that that's out of the way, WHAT IN GOD'S NAME ARE YOU ASKING THIS IDIOTIC QUESTION FOR?

Toe pain? Did I break my big toe?

Possibly. To know for sure, see your doctor.

You may break one of your toes by stubbing it, dropping something on it, or bending it. A hairline crack (stress fracture) may occur after a sudden increase in activity, such as increased running or walking.

Symptoms of a broken toe may include:

A snap or pop at the time of the injury.
Pain that is worse when the toe is moved or touched.
Swelling and bruising.
Possible deformity (not just swelling), such as a toe pointing in the wrong direction or that is twisted out of normal position. A dislocated toe can also look deformed.
Decreased movement or movement that causes pain.

How is a broken toe diagnosed?

A broken toe is diagnosed through a physical examination. Your health professional will look for swelling, purple or black and blue spots, and tenderness. An X-ray may be needed to determine whether the toe is broken or dislocated.
How is it treated?

Home care after breaking a toe includes applying ice, elevating the foot, and rest. Medical treatment for a broken toe depends on which toe is broken, where in the toe the break is, and the severity of the break. If you do not have diabetes or peripheral arterial disease, your toe can be "buddy-taped camera" to your uninjured toe next to it. Protect the skin by putting some soft padding, such as felt or foam, between your toes before you tape them together. Your injured toe may need to be buddy-taped for 2 to 4 weeks to heal. If your injured toe hurts more after buddy taping it, remove the tape.

In rare cases, other treatment may be needed, including:

Protecting the toe from additional injury. This may include using splints to stabilize the toe, a short leg cast, or a brace.
Surgery, if the break is severe.

Medical treatment is needed more often for a broken big toe than for the other toes. An untreated fracture may cause long-term pain, limited movement, and deformity.

How to break a toe or an ankle?

lol...

why not... its ur choice.. I'll give u sum ideas... (DON'T USE THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES) lol :P

1. jump out the second floor and land on your feet (that would be quick)
2. toe: tie a string to something high, tie the other end to ur toe whilst standing on a chair, jump off the chair.
3. Get a hammer, and if ur brave enough, give ur toe a wack or get help with it

You can also heavily twist your ankle easily, and its much less dangerous... it will hurt enough (probably 2 weeks no sport or more.. if thats what u want.. Put on sum soccer boots, or anything with studs. Find a feild and lay a flat hard surface on it, make sure it has grip on it though so u dont slip and break ur head. Sprint on the grass, and then run with one leg on the hard surface... u should twist ur ankle.. I twisted mine like that a while ago... and it doesn't hurt that bad... it just makes u limp for a while..

Did i sprain or break my toe? help!!?

If your toe is blue/red around where it was hit - or on the underside of the toe -- then it is broken --
If the redness has gone away - you may have sprained it to just injured it - and contrary to what's been said here - you can still move your toe (sometimes) when it is broken - the muscle moves it -
The thing is - the only way you can tell is from an x-ray -- and even if it is broken -- there is nothing they will do -- (they don't put casts on toes) -
So, if the toe is "IN place" and not dislocated -- just leave it alone and it will heal --
(Toes are the most commonly broken bones in the body) -

What does it feel like to break a bone?

It hurts and causes and unmistakable sound.I was in my early twenties when I was hanging out with my sister and her boyfriend at my parents. We were playing Nintendo, having a few beers and low key partying when I thought it would be a good idea to have some rough and tumble play with my sisters boyfriend (a 6ft4 and 190 lbs giant of a man), we both intended the fight as simply drunken fun but he lost control of himself, picked me up and threw me to the ground… CRACK!! CRACK!!..As I was thrown down my foot landed awkwardly and got twisted violently upon impacting the ground. I knew not only from the unmistakable sound but also from the constant, unrelenting, sharp and dull throbbing that I had probably broken my ankle. I had never broken a bone before and although I was sure it was likely broken I didn’t want to believe it and tried to convince myself it wasnt. My sister and her boyfriend, both freaking out, tried to convince me it was only a sprain insisted that because I could move my ankle and even put full body weight on it there was no way it was fractured. I continued hanging out but I was unable to get myself back into the partying spirit knowing something just wasn’t right. A look at my ankle again a few hours later revealed a badly swollen ankle still in 7/10 pain. The next day I went and got an xray and was told I had a spiral fracture of the right fubula but that it was stable. I did not require surgery and was put in an air cast, told not to put weight on it. Pain was terrible for the first 2–3 days but after two weeks the pain was only present when bumping or putting weight on my foot. After 4 week I was much better and xray showed I was almost fully healed.Don’t break a bone if you can help it, it sucks. Also no wrestling with people past the age of 18, especially when alcohol is involved lmao.

How can I tell if my pinky toe is broken?

On the outset, it’s impossible to tell if you’ve got a broken baby toe (pinky toe) just by assessing your case with the help you find online. Go to the nearest hospital/ clinic and meet a doctor. Explain your symptoms and have your foot x-rayed. That’s the only procedure to be sure if it’s a broken toe or not.Take my case: I had accidentally stubbed my toe to the wall the other night while going to the bathroom. There was mind boggling pain when it happened. But afterward (nearly 10 hrs later) - I only experienced mild, nearly non-existent pain and swelling, with absolutely no difficulty walking (except for a slight shift) or bearing weight upon the damaged toe. I was able to bend and buck my toe just fine. I was not entirely OK with the discomfort experienced but it wasn’t severe, or anything. I could walk, dance and go about my routine. It wasn’t until I paid a visit to an Orthopaedician/ had my foot x-rayed that an underlying fracture was discovered. The Doc traced the fracture line in the toe (on the x-ray) for me to see for myself. My experience is a testimony that you won’t always have the symptoms indicated online for a broken toe: throbbing, pain, swelling, broken nail shaft, discolored nail or bruised skin etc.I agree with Maya Deva Kniese. There is no better way to get this right than to visit an Orthopaedician. The sooner, the better. Good luck.

How do I break my ankle?

If you want to break your ankle easily and quickly, you’ll probably need some kind of blunt force trauma to your ankle resulting in a break. It will probably be pretty tricky to break your own ankle however because your brain prevents you from wanting to injure yourself usually. It’s the whole thing where we could technically bite off our own pinkie fingers but our brain doesn’t allow us to. It would take a hell of a lot of balls to purposely break your own ankle, knowing how much incredible pain you will be in. If you are looking to break it to get out of something such as sports or an event, you might as well save yourself the actual pain of breaking your ankle, and just buy some type of brace or casting material off of amazon and fake it. No one is going to make you take off your brace to see your “broken ankle”. Technically breaking your own ankle would probably considered self-harm, and is generally stupid, but I suppose you could take a hammer or such to your ankle. The hammer with be fast and easy, but very very painful. It will be more than just a broken bone, but busted blood vessels probably, swelling, and bruising. Soft tissue complications associated with the broken ankle can cause even further problems, not to mention the nighmare you will go through if you severely damage tendons and such. Depending on the severity, you may even need surgery, or have your foot amputated. There really is no GOOD reason to break your own ankle, and you could probably find a better alternative. Here is the true point of my writing:What can or will happen if you break your own ankleWill hurt like hellWill have severe swelling and bruisingWill have to keep your foot elevated for like everWill look dumb for breaking your own ankleCan result in surgeryCan result in amputaionCan result in a whole series of complicationWill result in thousands of dollars worth of medical expenses (BREAKING AN ANKLE AINT CHEAP)You WILL regret it:)

I hit my toes on my door frame. Did I break my toe?

The only way to tell is by x-ray..which you may or may not want to get. Medically there is not much they can do for a broken toe that they wouldn't do for a bad sprain. You know the drill...rotate ice and heat and keep you foot above your heart if you can...some tape can help you not move if as much and promote easier healing.

Did i break a bone in my foot?

about a week ago at football practice, my right foot starting hurting all of a sudden while i was running. i thought it was a simple pinched nerve, so i just kept practicing. when i got home, i soaked it in a bucket with ice and water, but it didnt help.

the pain is on the ball of my right foot, below my little toe and the toe next to it. It also hurts on the top of my foot, in the same place. there is NO swelling of my foot anywhere. there is no bruising, its not red anywhere, and there is no deformity of my foot. it only hurts when i try to put pressure on my right foot. to be more exact, it only hurts when the ball of my foot is pushing down on the ground when i walk. i hope i explained everything as good as possible. if you have any questions about my injury, i'll respond with more information. thanks!!!

(I included 2 pictures of where my foot hurts..)

Broken toe isn't healing after 6 months.?

Good outlook for me... i broke my little toe 2 months ago and it still hurts. My range of movement has sloooooooooooooooooowly started returning, but it still hurts a lot if i bend it too far inward. Ice it in the evenings when you're home. rest it as much as you can. If you broke the toe in more than one place it is going to be more painful and take longer to heal. i'm guessing my break (i didn't go to the doc, i couldn't afford it - no health insurance) was not all the way through.. i was able to walk within a couple of days. but the pain is still very real... and i know it's a break because it feels sooooo weak if i bend it to pop my toe (i pop my toes all the time, but this one won't let me... it feels like i'm being stabbed if i try to bend this one), and it hurts badly. it feels like i hurt it all over again if i push it to a point where it isn't ready to go.

have you tried wearing a boot? a medical boot. that will keep you from re-injuring it. you can pick them up from any medical supply store. if you get a rx from your doc, insurance should pay for it. that is your best bet in healing it. it stabilizes the toe, and serves as a barrier incase your little one decides to walk on the top of your feet ;o) i'm really surprised the doctor hasn't done that already for you. please discuss this option with your doctor, or just go buy one out of pocket... this will give you your fastest recovery :o)

i'm so sorry you're still suffering with this pain! bless your heart, 6 months is a long time!
