Did I Eat Bad And How Much Should I Excersice After Eating That

Exercise before or after eating?

Don't eat heavy protein or carbohydrate foods too soon (a couple of hours) before heavy exercise because your body's energy will be taxed by your digestive system and it will be somewhat bad for you.

Complex carbohydrates can be good to eat over a couple of hours prior to exercise if you want to increase your stamina.

Sugar, juice or a small amount of fruit can be consumed just before or during exercise because it is not hard to digest and the quick energy will give you a boost to help with the exercise.

It is good to eat a square meal soon after you finish heavy exercise in order to replenish deleted nutrients in your system, and thus recover quicker, build more muscle and reduce risk of illness.

If you are trying to lose weight rather than have a good general workout, then you don't need to worry quite so much about the carbohydrate and such before working out, or the sugar during, but of course you should make sure that you don't eat too little overall, or you'll probably get super-hungry a while after the exercise, and end up eating too much all at once to compensate.

Is it bad to workout after eating?

It is not bad at all. There is so much debate about when it is best to eat. In my experience and from all the research I've done, I think it is better to eat within 30 minutes of working out, especially protein. Your muscles will be searching to replenish their glycogen stores and protein is what they want. However, I also add whatever else I was planning for dinner (a healthy dinner, though, no sugars).

I normally eat a small snack before my workouts. You can eat a power bar (cliff/luna bars) or even a small fruit to give you the energy you need strictly for the workout (I eat a ketogenic style diet and don't use carbs or sugar for energy, so I normally eat a couple eggs, or a bunch of cheese before my workout, sometimes I won't eat at all before if my workout isn't going to be too intense). Then you just work out like normal and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! After your workout, go ahead and eat!

If you prefer eating beforehand or if you are pressed for time and have to eat beforehand, then that is fine too! It is suggested that you eat about an hour and a half before your workout. This allows your food and nutrition to properly digest so you don't get sick and gives your body the necessary energy for the workout. If you find yourself feeling weak after, drink a powerade or gatorade to replenish electrolytes and make sure you hydrate during your workouts!

Is it bad to exercise (jog, run) after eating?

Only if you have eaten way too much and then you run/jog way too much. Eating and digesting requires an increased blood flow to your digestive system. Running/jogging requires an increased blood flow to your muscles. You only have so much blood. Something has to give. You could end up with bad abdominal cramps causing you the irresistible urge to void your bowels and you might vomit — your body’s way of eliminating one of the competing needs for blood. The logic goes something like this. If you REALLY need to run — to save your life, then eliminating the food that’s being digested will free up the blood supply so your muscles can do their job better and get you away from whatever is about to kill you. If you avoid being killed, then you can probably eat something else — later, when your life isn’t in imminent danger. But, again, this is only an issue if you’re really over eaten and you’re really over doing it with the running/jogging.

How long should I wait to exercise after eating?

That would depend on how much you eat.
If you have eaten a heavy meal, you should wait 30 minutes to two hours before exercising. The bigger the meal, the longer you will need to wait. If you just eat a light snack like half a bagel or a few low-fat crackers, you should be good to go almost immediately.

What you eat is also important. If you exercise first thing in the morning You might want to eat something like fruit or a small amount of juice and water. If you plan to exercise mid-morning then a breakfast high in carbohydrates will give you enough energy to get through your workout. If you exercise in the late morning before lunch, you may want to try eating a light snack before working out and have a carb-and-protein rich lunch afterwards to replenish your body stores. If you work out later in the afternoon 12:00-3:00 you shouldn't have to eat anything before your workout as long as you have eaten lunch and breakfast. However, if you exercise later in the afternoon, closer to dinner time, a light snack (like a yogurt or a handful of pretzels) is a good energy provider. If you exercise after dinner, just make sure to wait an appropriate amount of time related to the size of your meal.

How long do you have to wait after eating before exercising?

It depends on the Quantity and Type of food you eat. Some people eat fruit, or protein, before exercising...not a lot, but enough to be metabolized during the exercise routine. What you need to understand is that digestion is WORK for the body. More blood will pass by the digestive system to absorb the nutrients. To the extend that you eat a BIG meal just before exercising...you are looking for trouble. The blood neded for the muscle groups being used in the exercise will be competing with the digestive process. Wait at least an hour before undertaking strenuous exercise after a BIG meal.

The nutrients will be readily available to fuel your workout and even give you a head start on the post-workout recovery process.Though your metabolism and body type help determine the exact quantity of nutrients you may need from that meal, you want to consume a pre-workout meal that’s equal parts fast-digesting carbs and protein to fuel your muscles and encourage muscle growth and repair. So what type of food should you consume? Starchy carbs like low-fiber white bagels and white rice and other fast-digesting sugars—sugar, dextrose, maltodextrin—combined with a fast-digesting protein like whey protein isolate or egg whites (if you prefer a whole food) are quickly digested. These carbs and sugars can be quickly accessed during a hard training session. What are the side effects of exercising on a full stomach?Exercising on a full stomach can cause digestive upset, leading to nausea, stomach cramps, bloating, and even vomiting.Bottom line: If you want to have a pre-workout meal, remember not to eat too heavily and too close to your workout, as it will be detrimental to your health, strength and power output.
