Whenever I think of Michelle Obama, I think of her with the angry face, holding up and pointing at a sign with the hashtag #bringbackourgirls. This was her response to the kidnapping of 276 Nigerian girls by the Muslim extremists of Boko Haram.Of course, the United States never did anything effective to recover these poor girls, and our overall response to Islamist terror on Obama’s watch was not particularly effective. (Remember President Obama calling ISIS “the jayvee?”) Posturing and virtue-signalling have zero effectiveness when your adversaries are violent jihadis.So I think a Michelle Obama presidency would be even more talk, though less eloquent, and even less action than we saw during her husband’s term as Chief Executive.I also suspect that Michelle, once her every word and action was put under a microscope, would prove much less even-tempered than her husband. Whatever else you say about him, Obama was Mr. Cool.
Would Michelle Obama be a good presidential candidate?
No, she not on my list of the top 50 million potential candidates. I do agree that she’s smart and articulate and if she wanted to do the job she could handle it. I try not to employ the typical double standard that most Americans use when evaluating Presidential candidates (your party’s candidate must be a God, while mine can just be an educated average Joe). However, I have a couple of a big issues with her that have ramifications in themselves.No more family run America. No more Bushes, Clintons or Obamas required. Personally, I’m tired of supporting these powerful super families, catapulting them into unimaginable power and riches. Just research the Obama’s life of wealth before and after being President. Enough is enough. They’ve lived off my dime long enough and that’s skewed their priorities, damaged their integrity, and altered their agendas. I don’t like it.She doesn’t have any of my interests at heart and although I hate to say it, she comes across as racist. I don’t like to call people that, because its incendiary, and people use that term far too frequently and carelessly, but it is what it is. Michelle has been so singularly focused her entire life on black rights, black empowerment, etc, that she doesn’t see any other color. Racism is a real American issue, and the Obama’s have taken up the flag, and made themselves rich off it. Good for her. I’m fine with that. Just don’t expect me to vote for more of it. People will disagree. As an extension to this, I would say I don’t feel like she has my America’s interests at heart. I’m not interested in an open door policy America. Immigration may have made this country great, but the bell is ringing and we’re approaching full occupancy. Time to slow it down and look for other ways to be “great” from within.Michelle is a lawyer with no prior political platform to judge her upon. Michelle hasn’t done campaigning on her own, so the question forces us to assume her positions. I try to keep an open mind in every election, so I’d have to hear what she has to say. But one can only assume, based on what we know. Obviously, liberals will like her. There are many people who just can’t get enough Obama, especially in the face of Trump. That’s not me. I’m not trying to divide us further, but I just gave this question the time of day, so when I go high… lol
