Did You See That The Celtic Flag Ban Didn

Are Spanish and Basque similar?

Spanish and Basque are not related, but there are a very few minor similarities.Spanish is a Romance language descended from Latin and thus related to Catalan, French, Galician, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, and some small languages in Europe you probably haven't heard of.Basque is what linguists call a language isolate. That means that as far as we know it is not related to any other language on earth. Basque is the language isolate with the most speakers after Korean and is the only living language isolate in Europe. The most noticeable similarity is the phonology, or sound system of the two languages. The two languages have largely the same set of sounds but the orthographies or spellings of the languages differ.More superficially, the two languages have borrowed words from each other. When you learn Spanish, or if you know another Romance language, you'll probably notice pretty quickly that the word for left stands out, izquierda. It's from Basque.English Wiktionary's List of Spanish terms derived from Basque (55 at the time I write this) and its List of Basque terms derived from Spanish (27 at time of writing).

If your country was Fascist, what would your flag look like?

Well, this was the flag of the closest thing Ireland had to a proper fascist movement, the National Guard:That would be my answer, but honestly, that flag has always struck me as looking a bit… shit.As well as not being very authentically Gaelic, as the saltire is an Anglo-Irish symbol.I’ve actually always been surprised that they didn’t use another symbol, one which is unmistakably Celtic, and of late has been associated with the extreme right. The Celtic cross.Somewhat coincidentally, this famous Irish symbol has already been used by an Irish far-right organisation, Ailtirí na hAiséirghe (Architects of the Resurrection). These fellows were far more extreme than the National Guard, although had a far lesser influence on Irish politics.Their Celtic cross is, however, a bit shit.So I’ve had to resort to some of the seedier parts of the internet (read:reddit) to find a good alternative. And lo and behold! The glorious new flag of our new Celtic Ríocht.

Has the St Georges flag been hijacked by the far right?

Perhaps not. At one time this may have been the case, but with the increased use of the Scottish saltire, more ordinary English people identify with St George's Cross I don't because I am not a Christian & it symbolises the Crusades, but for most people it symbolises football. Display of the flag is seen as rather vulgar & lower class, but this does not make everyone using it a fascist- although it may identify them as a football fan. I tend to fly the flag of the Isle of Wight.

Why do Blacks still discriminate against Whites because of slavery..?

They use it as an excuse for their present day problems.

Why dunking was banned in the NCAA from 1967 to 1976?

It was because of a young man from UCLA named Lew Alcindor (later Kareem Abdul Jabbar). At 7'0" he was so dominating that NCAA officials decided to impose the ban. It is sometimes referred to as the "Lew Alcindor Rule".
