Distance Learning Over Internet Possible?

What is Distance Learning?

Distance education or distance learning, is a field of education that focuses on teaching methods and technology with the aim of delivering teaching, often on an individual basis, to students who are not physically present in a traditional educational setting such as a classroom. It has been described as "a process to create and provide access to learning when the source of information and the learners are separated by time and distance, or both"[1] Distance education courses that require a physical on-site presence for any reason (including taking examinations) have been referred to as hybrid[2] or blended[3] courses of study.

What is distance learning all about?

distance learning is about taking classes without the aid of a teacher for about 90% of the time. If you are disciplined and can follow the schedule of assignments and can learn on your own, then go for it. I personally like online education, I have taken 26 classes online for my associates degree.

Is it possible to learn piano using online resources only? If so, what is the best online resource for the same?

The internet is a wonderful thing for piano students. There is so much relevant  material to browse, so much free sheet music, so many professional and enthusiast performances on YouTube to discover and learn from, and so many fellow pianists to "meet". It makes me wonder how great performers ever managed without it.But alas, the Internet is overcrowded with people trying to make money off of those of us pursuing our dreams, whether the dream is to find the love of your life, the job you have always wanted, the vacation you could never afford ... or to find the fastest, easiest or cheapest path to becoming a skilled pianist. The bottom line is that if someone is trying to make money off you without personally interacting with you at the keyboard, it is NOT worth your time or money. Yes, it's nice to have an app that can tell you when you played it wrong, but it is better to learn how to recognize that for yourself. There is no substitute for having a skilled piano teacher by your side, someone who learns from working with you what your unique interests, skills and challenges are. I will offer an example from my own experience.I have been an adult learner for 18 months. I am hugely motivated and have accomplished repertoire that surprised my Julliard-trained teacher. But I have also gotten tangled up in music that I SO wanted to play but was just not ready for, such as Bach's awe-inspiring Chaconne. The result was sore hands, frustration, self-doubt, and loss of enjoyment. When practicing becomes a chore, it's all over.My teacher saw what was happening, although I did not. A couple of weeks ago she had me put Chopin aside and gave me a light transcription of Pachelbel's beautiful Canon to learn for the holidays. She knew it was my kind of music, and she knew that I would pick it up easily.  As a result, I have recovered my piano mojo and am back at my Hanon's, my scales and my Chopin F Minor Nocturne with renewed confidence and enjoyment. And my hands don't hurt! You won't get that from an app or a collection of tuition videos. You won't get the reinforcement that happens when teacher and student connect at the piano, when  insight is amplified by the nonverbal communication that occurs. You won't have a champion who can inspire you and help you surmount your challenges. You won't have someone who you can trust to tell it like it is, how it could be, and what it will take you, personally, to attain your goals as a musician.

Can I do graduation at the age of 30 through distance learning?

You can to do graduation through distance education at 30. This is probably one of the best features of distance education – age is never a constraint. In doing so, you will face no issues which you could have encountered in a conventional classroom degree. Whether you are a student, a working professional or a person nearing retirement, you can polish your educational qualifications over distance learning. This is where pursuing a course over distance learning has a distinct advantage over regular courses. Most of the universities and institutions in the country have an upper limit in terms of age when it comes to applying for their different courses. However, open universities or institutions offering distance learning programs have no such limit. In fact, a friend of mine completed his post-graduation in his late 20s, while he was working.Apart from the above, distance learning programs have several other advantages. Most of these courses are conducted over the internet. This makes such courses much more accessible to the students. Students can access their course material from anywhere and monitor their progress as well as clear their doubts.Distance education also provides the much needed work-study balance for working professionals. The flexibility that such a course entails enables working professionals to build their academic qualifications while at the same time continuing with their jobs. This not only improves their prospects of securing a better job, but also boosts their professional growth within their current organization. Also, as a growing number of open universities are being recognized by the University Grants Commission, they are obligated to standardize their courses and follow a number of other guidelines. This means that the level of education provided by such universities has also gone up.Given below are some of the many distance learning institutions in the country. Visit their website to know more about the courses that they offer.1. University of Delhi (SOL)2. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University3. Sikkim Manipal University-Distance Education

Is it possible to do LLB through Distance Education in India?

DISCLAIMER: The following information pertains ONLY to India. I'm not aware of the law applicable in other jurisdictions. I am assuming that your aim isn't to do an LLB in vain. I am also assuming that you would like to get a certificate that would permit you to become an advocate somewhere in the country. Under those assumptions, you're not allowed to take a distance education course according to the Rules laid down by the Bar Council of India, the regulatory body of the all advocates in India. Graduates from distance education courses cannot be given certificates by State Bar Councils for practice. For reference, I'd request you to read Rules 2(iv) and 3 of the Legal Education Rules. (Available at: Page on barcouncilofindia.org)Hope this helps.
