What is an average cost for catering for 70-80 people?

We are getting married in December and I have a great venue picked out, but one of the only draw backs is that I have to use their catering company. I've had their food before and it's pretty good. Not wonderful, but well above average. A full meal (which includes a salad, shrimp and chicken entree, and 2 sides) comes to about just over $21 a person and the total was somewhere near $1700. This doesn't include paying the staff. ( which was $30 an hour!! during the event ) << the caterers own the venue, so they would be the staff for the whole event at least.
Am I supposed to tip on top of that too?
$21 seems pretty fair, since a nice restaurant would cost that much too.
Just want to hear some average costs and make sure I'm not getting ripped off. I would check into other places but I love the venue and really don't want to change it !

Plus it is necessary to compete.Always dress yourself good, do not wear casual clothes, be dressed like a gentleman always because at each point people going to judge you.Always speak truth with your client, it not easy to get your first client so tell them I will give my 100% no matter what ever situation is.
