Do I Have A Cold Or The Flu

Can you take a shower if you have a cold or the flu?

I rarely get a cold and haven’t had the flu since the 1950s, but I know of no reason NOT to have a shower.

Do I have the Flu????????????

Well, refer to the below. Hope it helps. I believe you've got flu.

Cold – The common cold is also known by the medical term of “ viral upper respiratory tract infection.” It is, simply put, a nasal infection. The most common cause of it is the virus called rhinovirus, though there are two hundred other viruses that are also known to cause colds.
Some symptoms of the common cold are: sore throat, congestion, and runny nose.

Flu – “The flu” is the shortened term for influenza and is named as such because it is caused by the viruses influenza A or B. It is a very contagious respiratory illness. Coughing and sneezing can spread the virus. The virus attacks the upper or lower respiratory tracts and sometimes even both. As compared to the common cold, the flu has more pronounced symptoms with high fever and more body aches. Its effects are also more severe. It can affect the lungs and joints and cause respiratory failure. Symptoms of the flu are: fever, chills, headache, muscle aches, fatigue, cough, runny nose, and so on.

Do I have allergies, the cold, or the flu?

Flu makes you feel ill, you might get shivers and random aches in your muscles and you feel ill for three days or more. Colds make you feel a bit poorly, a bit sorry for yourself but after a couple of days, you know you’re getting better.Allergies last. If you’re allergic to tree pollen for example, you’ll sneeze and croak every year at roughly the same time because that’s when the pollen is abundant. The best way to find out what you’re allergic to is to be tested (usually it’s a patch test) but you can also gain some insight by recording when your reaction starts and stops and comparing the dates to when various plants and crops flower.Personally, I know I’m allergic to tree pollen, grass and moulds but when the air quality is poor, I tend to react to things I can usually tolerate well, eg. oilseed rape. So check out the flowering times of suspect plants and be mindful of the level of particulates locally if you get an unusual reaction. It helps to talk to others too - if you’re getting hay fever, I bet you’re not alone!Talk to your doctor too and get some antihistamine. There are several types, just find one that works for you but don’t suffer in silence.

When you have a cold or the flu can you give it to your pet?

Possibly.“Although it is relatively uncommon for animals to contract viral or other infectious organisms from humans, it does happen. One notable occurrence was in 2009 when humans contracted H1N1 (swine flu) influenza virus from swine (pigs). Cats, dogs, and ferrets fell ill or died after contracting the H1N1 from people.”[1]See also:Can you give your cat the flu?Zoonosis - WikipediaFootnotes[1] Can Dogs Get The Flu - Canine Influenza and Your Dog

Do I have a cold, flu, or sinus infection?

Hello I have been sick for the past couple of days but today has gotten much worse. At first I just had a cough. I was coughing a lot throughout the whole day but I didn't have any other symptoms. Then the next day my body felt weak and sore. Now today I have a massive headache and my eyes hurt and are really sensitive. I am also starting to develop a runny nose. I do not know which virus these symptoms are for. Can someone tell me if I have a cold, the flu, or a sinus infection? Please and thank you so much!

What's the difference between a cold and a flu?

The differences? Do you mean the symptoms? The simpliest answer is: When you have a cold, you don't have a fever. When you have the flu, you do.

A cold and the flu are both caused by a virus, but they are entirely different kinds of virus. There is really no medicine that a doctor can prescribe for either one.

A cold will cause a stuffy nose, possibly a sore throat, and coughing or sneezing; but you are still able to go on about your daily business.
The flu will cause fever, shivering, body aches, possible nausea, difficulty breathing, weakness, headache, and heavy coughing. In other words, with the flu, you will feel like krap for about 5 or 6 days, and all you'll want to do is lie in bed and sleep.
