Do I Have A Panic Issue

Panic attacks?

i really need help. i have panic attacks regularly (well, more irregularly but on a regular basis if that makes any sense...) and they are making my life so hard. i just started a new job that i LOVE and today i had to drive an hour away from my work for the orientation...which wasn't bad, i had a few minor attacks while there (it was an 8 hour session) but nothing really notable...until the ride home and i FREAKED out. i felt like i was going crazy...i started to cry and i couldn't hold it in any longer and i threw up and i kept making my co-worker who had driven our agency van, pull over and i ran away from the van and laid in the snow wishing i could just get hit by a truck...now i have 2 more days of training and i'm not sure i can do it...i can't go back to work. i made a fool of myself. she was really understanding but that doesn't make it any less embaricing...i guess my question is...what should i do? i'm so scared of being scared. the only thing i haven't tried is meds.

What type of doctor do you see for anxiety issues?

Start with your primary doctor. If you need a specialist, s/he will refer you. If you don't have insurance, just go to a general practitioner (internist.) There are many great medications for anxiety/panic attacks. Be sure to tell the doctor everything. That will help him figure out which med will be best for you. Sometimes you might have to try 2 or 3 till you find the right one.
For anxiety alone, without depression, you might have been thinking of valium, xanax, or what I think is a wonder drug, Klonopin. Those work within 30 minutes, unlike Zoloft, Pazil, or Prozac which take up to 2-3 weeks to work.
Bless you and good luck! :)

Im having a panic attack right now over trust issues with my girlfriend.?

Ok, first of all trust is extremely important because even if she did all these things before you were with her, you would still have a level of trust, so there is most likely something you're not telling us that made you lose you're trust in your gf.

I'll tell you what I did: I found concrete evidence that my bf was cheating, and I felt exactly how you felt, and I felt it very hard for a few days. So I'm not going to lie, there is nothing that I myself can say to make you feel better, but it is ONLY going to get better from here.

Now, I never confronted him because I didn't want him to confront me about my trust issues, so I backed off for a while. I didn't speak with him for about 2 weeks (we even lived together) and in all that time I gathered more evidence to be sure. And I was sure.

I felt sick to my stomach, but the first thing I did was find another member of the opposite sex (man, for me) and spoke with him as if I was single. and got into a relationship with him (this was me cheating on my bf) and extremely soon after I did this, my bf started coming home on time and paying close attention to me. Hell, I even invited the guy to our house to play video games a few times just so that he can see that I have options. And he DID see.

You have no idea the 180 this man did. As I got my own life and started to hang out with more guy friends, he was suddenly always available and all that evidence that I used to find was never to be found again.

So, the moral of the story is, the cat and mouse chase that we do while dating will never end, even in a "trusting" relationship. You need to either find someone else, dump her, or hang with more girls and see how she does the same 180 that my bf did.

Good luck, and pls update me!

My friend has undiagnosed mental issues with panic attacks and constant stress. She is on a waiting list for a doctor but this can take weeks. How can I help her?

Be there. Listen without judgment. Do small tasks (or big ones) for her. Help her find breathing exercises to do and remind her (gently) to try them. She may need to survive hour by hour, minute by minute even, until she receives professional help. Be kind. Validate her feelings even if they make no sense to you. Understand that she may experience difficulty with cognitive tasks such as making decisions, planning, etc. Offer to help and remind her that this is not permanent. It may not be easy or convenient to be her friend at this time, but this is when she needs you the most.

Do people leave you because you suffered from anxiety and panic issues?

Yes, sometimes they do. But it’s more about what people do in relationships because they have anxiety or panic issues. It’s not because of the anxiety itself. When people have an anxiety disorder and haven’t learned to manage it yet, it can be difficult for them to be a good partner or sustain a relationship. Severe anxiety can cause people to accuse their partners, distrust them or overwhelm them with worries.I learned about these issues when I was conducting research for and writing this piece:Dating Someone With Anxiety: What You Need to Know and Do - Talkspace Online Therapy Blog
