Do I Make A Good Rap Artist I Need Feedback For My Song

How do I get advice or feedback on a song I made?

There are several websites where you can post your music and get people to listen to it and give you feedback. Currently I am on several, Reverb Nation is a good place to start and you can create an account for free, There is also Number One Music but you are limited to uploads if you choose the free membership. I am also on MTV Artist Page and that is another option.I listened to your song and it was just okay for me. The beat was good and the music wasn’t bad but the recording of the actual vocals was a bit off. It was not integrated well into the music and so it sounded like you were just adding the rap over the top of an existing music track. Also it didn’t appear there were any effects whatsoever on the vocals so they were a little lifeless. At the very least a little reverb would help of maybe even a little delay. All in all it wasn’t bad but it was nothing earth shattering and sounded like a lot of other music of that genre.

Where can I get feedback for my rap lyrics?

Rap genius? A lot of people share their raps on rapgenius.com. You could also just narrow down the lyrics or break it into two separate songs so it could make it easier for you to handle. I do that when i write way too much and then try to aim for one topic for each one instead when i divide it. Really long raps usually have way too many topics.

Do rap songs need a hook/chorus?

No, a good hook can make a song better...while a crappy hook can wreck a song, but ultimately a song DOESN'T need a chorus. Now i ain't nobody, used to be a local rapper in the 90's but when i released my CD, I had a 4 minute song called "They Once Asked Me" that was flow from start to finish, no breaks, no chorus, just going off. Was the most popular song amongst my small fanbase. But maybe all my other songs were just not that good! LOL!!

What is the best site I could get my beats and raps feedback?

Getting high-quality beat feedback is an area that we’re currently attacking at Creator Arcade. We built a platform that allows you to submit your beats to top dj’s, producers, and engineers and get video feedback. Check out an example here:Max Lord of 808 MAFIA gives producer feedback on Creator ArcadeWe built this platform because of how notoriously hard it is to get constructive feedback on beats. Artists are most times to busy to respond to the 100’s of emails they get daily of people submitting beats to them. So we incentivized them to do it by paying them. After taking on Southside as a client late last year, I learned a ton about how beats circulate through the hip-hop world. Even if you make good beats those beats will not get heard by top artists unless you have some leverage or someone in your corner that can vouch for you. Remember that any producer you submit beats to is also creating beats that they want to send to artists as well - in their mind you are competition and they have no incentive to push those beats to others. That means you have to network your ass off. My advice would be to find top producers and create samples for them. Many of the top hip-hop producers are not creating their own samples. Takes to much time and they would rather focus on creating the beat.Hip-hop has become a genre of creating as much as possible and then letting the audience decide what is going to be a hit. Therefore, if you can create quality samples that can speed up the process of work for a producer then now you have your in.This is not true for all genres but for the trap, Soundcloud genres that we see now this is definitely the norm.Anyone that would like me to listen to their stuff, email me at brock@creatorarcade.com and I’ll take a listen.

Looking for artist of song, early 90s,maybe 80s.reggae rap sound,"Lydia oh lydia i wish i didnt get rid of ya"

ok I keep looking for this artist, or even the lyrics, but I keep getting the lyrics to an older song, possibly the original version, because some lyrics are the same, but here are all the lyrics i remember from the version im looking for, not in any order...lydia oh lydia i wish i didnt get rid of ya, lydia i miss your rose tattoo, and when we'd make love this is all that could be heard..it goes a little something like this, you can learn a lot from lydia

I am going to post my first rap song. How do I gain attention and positive reviews?

You can gain positive reviews by doing a good job, plain and simple. You need some semblance of production quality and to not sound like a dumbass. I like listening to rap, I could do a review for you privately if you send me a link (although you should take anything I say with a grain of salt, I am a man of particular taste and am probably biased in some way).Attention, well, that can be harder to get. The best way to get attention is to expose it to the maximum amount of people possible. Add people on Facebook and post it, ask all your friends to share it, things can get out fairly quickly that way. Same goes for Twitter, Instagram, Soundcould, etc. Social media can be a good place to start from.Hope ya reach your goals, good luck and godspeed!

Songs similar to Dead and Gone by T.I. and Justin Timberlake?

There really aren't many that I can think of.

T.I. - No Matter What - a similar song off of the same album

Eminem - Sing for the Moment - more about showing how others should change

Lil Wayne - Misunderstood - also about a need for change in the world

T.I. - Live Your Life - More about forgetting your past and looking to the future

Xzibit - Don't Approach Me - about having a tough life and having to push through it

Hmm.. I have a few more like the ones above like The Way I Am by Eminem, or Let It Be by Dyme Def

Not exactly what you are looking for

Here is my favorite non hip-hop/rap song which is very deep and has this theme:
The Beatles - While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Old, but very, very good in my opinion.

email me at humanstride@gmail.com if you want more like the songs above

Hope I helped

What are some good (r&b) songs that make you think?
