Do I Need To Speak With A Psychiatrist I Have No Social Life And It Destroys Me Inside Everyday

How does one go about overcoming social anxiety disorder/social phobia?

I think I can help you. I used to have SA really bad and now I am almost over it 100%. I did some cognitive behavioral therapy on my own and it helped me immensely! It is a 20 step audio/workbook series that a guy named Dr. Richards created. I downloaded the workbook and the audio tapes for free on a website called demonoid.com. The series is called 'Overcoming Social Anxiety Step-By-Step'. You are supposed to listen to one tape per week and the doc tells you specifically what you will work on for that week. At first, it was sorta difficult for me, but in time, I got better and less anxious. The first 10 tapes help you to change the negative thinking patterns that are holding you back. The second 10 tapes focuses more on implementing what you've learned into the real world. The doc knows what he is talking about, because he had social anxiety for 20 years! You CAN beat this, but you have to be persistant! Sometimes you will feel like giving up, because you feel hopeless, but please never give up. You are only 17 and you have your whole life ahead of you! I wish I would have found out about this series when I was your age. You don't want to look back at your life and wish that you had tried harder to help yourself. I know you probably don't feel like this now, but you are worth it. Getting help for yourself is the best thing you can do for you right now. Remember this always and to never give up! Good luck to you and you can contact me if you have anymore questions.

Is it weed that destroyed ,my confidence?

Hi there,

The effects of weed remain even when you have stopped smoking it. It needs to get out of your system.

It just makes you Paranoid as Hell.

On the other hand you could have an underlying Anxiety Disorder and the Weed has made it 10X worse. Go to your Doctor for an opinion.

What does the Bible say about Avoidant Personality Disorder or any kind of anxiety/self-confidence disorder?

The Bible is full of information about various diseases and disorders. It even specified specific treatments for them.

For example. It recommended cleansing of infections with running water, quarantines for communicable diseases, how to make and use lye-based cleansing agents, how to use a local plant that is today recognized for having both antibiotic and anti-fungal properties, etc. These concepts were not recognized by the scientific community until the latter part of the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Bible specifies medicinal uses for wine and warns us to guard against drug abuse by not using too much of it(drunkenness, etc.).

The Bilbe taught how to treat mold in houses, how to recognize dangerous molds, and when a house had to be destroyed because of the mold. That concept was adopted by the scientific community in the latter 20th century.

O course your condition was known during biblical times, it just didn't have the same name. God wants to comfort you. Be strong. Be Courageous. Do not be afraid or dismayed.

Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

1 Chronicles 22:13
Then you will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that the LORD gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged.
1 Chronicles 22:12-14 (in Context) 1 Chronicles 22 (Whole Chapter)

May the Lord bless your life and give you confidence. The only one in this life that you can change is yourself. Pray for good things for your enemies and those who abuse you. You will find that your outlook and life will change for the better.

There is nothing wrong with seeking treatment from licensed medical practioners. There are all kinds of therapies and medications to treat this disorder.
